The music Room

Eglantine relaxed again, the thoughts and memories stirred to life by the mention of teaching styles slowly fading from her mind.
"My praise was accurate was it not, Kiara?" she stated, glancing up to see Kiara's face.

Kiara's eyes were closed, as the notes from Sevastyan's playing flowed through her mind.

She smiled at Eglantine's statment, "It was spot on Eglantine"

When Sevastyan finished playing kiara clapped her ands a few times, "She is right you are very good, been awile since I have heard a guitar played so well" she said smiling.

"You are both very kind. Thank you very much," Sevastyan earnestly replied, stood up briefly and bowed twice - once to Kiara, and again to Eglantine. Old-fashioned manners had been drilled into his head, even if he was a child of the 80's - another quirk of his grandfather's doing.

Eglantine laughed softly as Sevastyan bowed, his doing so reminding her of her father when he would "bow out" of an argument with her mother. Of course she laughed so rarely that the sound sounded odd to her own ears and she only allowed herself to laugh a few brief breaths.

Kiara's smile brightened when she heard Eglantine laugh "I think I should have made this room eariler, I works with getting to know eachother better"

Though Sevastyan hadn't been here long to begin with, it had been a pleasant surprise to hear Eglantine laugh. Kiara's comment only widened the smile on his face.

"I have heard it said that music is a langvage that does not reqvire vords, yet conveys even the most complex emotions vithout flaw," he contributed agreeably. "But, aside from music, this room is a good place to sit and have a conversation vhile at play."

"Indeed it is." Eglantine responded concisely replying to both statements.

Viper entered the room of requirement rather irritatedly. She had spent the better part of the hour searching for her colleagues and here they all were huddling together.

"There you all are. I've been looking for you all for about an hour. Wh-." she paused however, when she noticed all the instruments everywhere and that each of all of the rooms occupants standing beside one.

"Oh." she breathed out as her irritation evaporated. "Forgive me, I did not realize I was interrupting something..."

Kiara blinked , she had never known Viper to ask forgivenss.

"It alright you weren't interupting, would you like to join us Viper or was there something else." Kiara asked.

Eglantine turned her head to see Viper, shocked that the younger professor had been looking for them. Wonder what she wants?

Viper pondered for a moment. If she left then technically she'd be responsible for the students... Her nose wrinkled slightly when she thought of the two second year Hufflepuffs that were fighting in the hall way. No, she'd much rather stay her with her colleagues than deal with that.

Viper shrugged as she took a seat on the table. "I suppose I'll stay, if you don't mind. Beside," she smirked. "This would give me a chance to your sensitive sides."

"You vould be most velcome to join us," Sevastyan chimed in.

Viper smiled. "Have you all just started?" she asked, unsure exactly how long they had been here.

"Yes, we were playing only for a few minutes." About thirty was only a few in her mind.

Viper nodded, a bit disturbed by the floating hands nearby Eglantine. "I see..."

"Ve all arrived vone by vone, and have just now begun taking turns playing for vone another," Sevastyan elaborated To be entirely honest with himself, he hadn't been keeping track of time.

Viper nodded in comprehension, feeling a bit disappointed that she had missed the concerts. She hadn't even realized that her colleagues, with the exception of Sevastyan, played instruments.

"So who's turn is it now?" she asked, curious to hear their musical talent.

"I believe that the pattern we are going Eglantine would go next" Kiara said

Eglantine sighed. "If you wish." she muttered. She wove the hands again and reached out to begin playing on the harp.

Instead of closing his eyes, Sevastyan watched as Professor DeLanquar played. The song was vaguely familiar, reminding him of his sister, which subsequently had a soothing effect on him. A snippet of memory passed before his eyes and was gone before he could register what it was he had remembered from so long ago. The only thing he did manage to catch was a glimpse of himself and Svetlana as children, and the fact they were likely in Sveta's room because his was a lot darker than the one he'd glimpsed. He would have to comb his memories for the recollection later.

When the professor finished, Sevastyan clapped a few times. "Very vell played, Professor," he complimented honestly, remembering now where that strain of memory came from: he and Svetlana had been playing the song in turns, practicing for a family-wide music competition, the genre of which being duets of sorts.

Viper stared in silence. She hadn't expected Eglantine to be a fan of music, and she definately didn't expect much from her if she was musical. She was quite impressed.

"Indeed." she nodded.

Eglantine smiled softly. "Thank you." she vanished the hands, and glanced up to see if Viper had been being sarcastic. The eyes were the window to the soul, someone had once said. The younger woman seemed to be genuinely pleased.

Viper nodded, getting the impression that Eglantine thought she had been sarcastic, although she truly was both suprised and impressed.

She smiled and look at the other occupants. "Well, who's next?"

"The Headmistress vould be next," Sevastyan replied automatically, his gray eyes roaming to her general direction. He wondered what Kiara's next song would be, seeing as how she was able to sing and play at the same time. Sevastyan himself was a fair singer, but it took him quite some time to learn how to sing and play simultaneously. Perhaps he would give it a try on his next turn to play...

"Hmm, now which one.." Kiara mumbled more to her self then any thing as she brought the Violin up. Going over the song she remembered the lyrics to by heart.

"Ah got one" then she started playing.
