St, Mungo's 2043 (Fixed Future)

Rossalyn McConn was just starting her first full day as a intern at St. Mungos she was in the emergancy ward for the moment and treating broken bones, bad effects of hexes and potions.. anything and everything really. It was the best place for her to get experince.

"McConn looks like you got a Auror in bed 12, get to it" her superviser shouted.

"I am on it" she said back taking the chart while hiding a groan. Auror's were horrible patiants, always acting tough.. and never cooperated unless knocked out first. But with a sigh she continued on, her light blue healers coat on and ready for her next challenge.

The auror in bed number 12 wasn't behaving... mainly because he truly didn't believe he was 'all that hurt' and also because, well, it just ran in his blood. Tavish McConn never liked hospitals, be they muggle or magic. He never liked doctors, nurses, healers or vets... they just all had something about them that made his antsy.

All that and he'd gotten his injury in a horrible manner... truly beyond description. Captain McConn currently was stuck in a medical facility because he had a shattered tibia and a dislocated shoulder; all of which he'd gotten during a peaceful mission... having fallen off his broom after being struck by an angry bird. Embarrassed and hoping his father NEVER found out, Tav wanted to die.

Rossa had her nose in the chart when she walk in, "shattered tibia and dislocated shoulder.. Should only take afew moments Mr..." she paused reading the name and dropped the chart.

"Tav?!" she looked wided eyed at her older brother on the hospital bed.

"What happened? How did this happen?" she asked in a flurry, momentarily forgetting she was his Healer and acting solely as his careing sister, she knelt at his bed side.

The nurse at the side gave Rossa a odd look.

Tav cringed as he heard his name; followed by his little sister suddenly looming over his sick bed... well maybe not 'looming', she wasn't tall enough for that; but the reaction was the same nonetheless.
"Are you going to believe what you see? Or what I tell you?" he asked, trying to both lighten the mood and get out of his horrible story. Hopefully his sister would assume he'd been jumped by fourteen ninjas with katanas and he'd be fine.

Rossa blinked and suddenly remembered she had the report on the chart. She summoned it back to her hand.

She looked at Tav sheepishly "older healers say never to trust a patient.. particularly an Auror" she said with a snicker before reading it.

"You fell off your broom?!.." she said in shook as she continued reading to the part where his teamate Jessy Nightwood wrote. "Attacted by a birdy!"

Rossa had enough sympathy for her brother to only snicker once and not repeat to him what she read. "Bad day I take it?" she muttered with a smirk. She then turned to the nurse who still looked very confused.

"Go and get some skelegrow, and a couple pain relief potions.." she supplied managing to slip back into healer mode. Before turning back to Tav.

"I can only imagine days face when he see's this" she said teasing Tav while she loved to get instrament to fix his shoulder.

Tav smacked his forehead and groaned.
"Hey, come on! It was a big bird." he whined, feeling miserable enough without his own baby sister laughing at him. Still, he knew the situation was amusing and didn't take it too seriously.
He relaxed back into the cushions and sipped the ice coffee he'd convinced a nurse to sneak him in. "Kay knows how big those birds can be." he muttered. "One pooped on her car once." Another sip. "How you doing, by the way? Kinda scary to trust you with my 'life'." He teased.

Rossa bit her lips together as he whined trying her honest best not to laugh.. though he wasn't making it easy. She couldn't get the picture out of her mind of Tav and a bird coliding.

She moved to his other side as the nurse came back with the potions, she pouted at his tease. "Hey, if you'd rather wait for another healer your more the welcome to, I even call mum and Dad and tell them all about it so they can keep you company while you wait" she said considering Tav's life was no where in danger she was perfectly alright with fixing his shoulder and leg. Had his life been in serious danger... she wasn't sure she could do it. There was a rule about healers treating loved ones who were seriously injured or ill. Emotions tended to get in the way and judgment was compomised.. it was never a good idea.

Then she got a cup from the counter and poured a eggshell white potion into it, "Here, drink, it is a long lasting pain relief potion, it will take the edge off from the Skelegrow for your leg, and help a bit with your arm" she said with a smile.

"Uh, you'll do fine." he beamed, suddenly the model patient. "No need to get mum and da..." the last thing he needed was his parents chuckling over the whole affair. He could see his father's face at the moment and it made his red face scarlet. "Your mean... you know that right?" he joked, taking the cup she handed him. One sip and he gagged. "Strike that... plain nasty. What'd you pour into that cup, Ro? Arsenic?"

He shuddered and finished the potion off, alternating it with his coffee.

Rossa chuckled and muttered "Big Baby.. if Kay were here you'd take your medicen with out complaining'.. that or refuse altogether to show you don't need it" she added with a roll of her eyes.

Then she waved her wand and cast a spell to take wizarding version of a muggle X-ray. There was a white flash of light and the injuries to the bones were shown before her eyes.

"Wow Tav.. if you were a muggle this would take months to heal not to mention lkely a metal rode in your leg.. How far did you fall?" she asked looking at the pictures of her brothers bones. The tibia was shattered alright, would likely need a spell to set the bones right.. then let the skelegrow do it's job.

"Gonna have to Operate" she teased.

"Sure would." he beamed, in love and not afraid to show it. "And I'm not a baby..." He tried to get more comfortable but the bones didn't allow it. "Wow... it hurts." he groaned, setting aside his coffee. His eyes watched the broken bones come to 'life' before him and his groan deepened. Sheesh, it felt as bad as it looked suddenly. "You sure you gave me a pain-reliever instead of something else?" he asked, still teasing, despite the pain. "And it was about fifteen metres... caught myself on a roof about half-way down... hence the arm... hit the ground... hence the leg."

He tried to glare at her when the 'operate' joke came out, but couldn't.
"Okay, just don't make me look like Moody, kay." he joked.

Rossa looked at Tav in sympathy, though found it ironic the moment he said he was not a "baby" he started whining about the pain..

"Don't worry we'll get started on that on the leg first.. it will take slightly longer to heal.." she said pouring some skelegrow into a cup. ".. I know it tastes horrid.. but your leg won't heal as quickly with out it" she said handing the potion to him. Then she murmuered a spell that would allow her to see a live picture of his Tibia... so she could cast her spell to place the broken bits back into place.. would likely be right painfull for afew moments.. Poor Tav..

She snickered at him, "I'll do my best Tav" she said with a smile.. "Sure you don't want me to call Kay? Bet you she'll come and hold your hand" She teased partly.. she seriously would if things got more painful for him the she hoped.

"Okay... start at my toes and we'll work our way up to my blasted head." he gritted out; pain keeping him from being as jovial as usual. "Don't worry about hurtin me, kay. Pain thresh hold reaches Mount Olympus." He took the potion as she handed it over, gulping it down without a word. Then he bit down on the inside of his mouth and went very quiet, not allowing the smallest of moans to escape his lips. Damn it hurt... and he was fairly used to pain due to a dangerous life style and occupation.

"Yeah, call her." he muttered, eyes tightly closed. The joking part was lost on him. He didn't care if his mother was called; hell he'd take comfort in his grandmother being there. Old enough to handle anything but still hurting badly, he wanted someone to assure him he'd be alright. Rossa was great, but she was his nurse. Nurses weren't suppose to have to treat the patient and hold their hand... didn't work.
"No, don't... I'm fine."

Rossa looked Tav in sympathy as it seemed the pain was getting to him and gave a nod to the nurse inside with them to contact Kay. she hated seeing Tav in pain.

"Hang in there for me big brother, the worst will be over soon" she assured and handed him the third potion that was ment to relieve what would be the worst of it when she moved his broken bone back in place.

She sat at his bedside, lightly patted his hand before shifting back to healer mode she pointed her wand at his leg and murmered a spell that was to shift all the broken bone back together again.

Being his sister made this part difficult... before when he was joking all seemed normal.. but now that the pain had worsened, and she couldn't help but let some of her emotions get a hold of her.. As she muttered the spell she slipped her hand to his to offer comfort until someone else could take her place.

Tav took her word for it and remained the way he was; eyes closed, fists clenched... patiently awaiting death. Or as close as he hoped to get to it for some time.

Ack! The bone shifted and he saw stars, even with his eyes shut. It hurt horribly. Kind of like when he was a child and running along he'd trip and skin up his knees. Only there wasn't a father or mother to scoop him up and assure him it was all right. No... he'd out grown that. Now it was suck up the pain and be the tough auror he was.

A weird strangled sound escaped his lips and he seized the sheets tightly with his good hand.

Rossa bit her lip "Sorry Tav, almost done, hang in there" she encoraged wishing she could move faster but couldn't with out the risk of hurting him further.

"Sorry Tav" she muttered again..

Then Kaylee McConn was shown into the room, as soon as she got the word Tav was St.Mungo's she dropped the kids off with Sine for a bit race to the place.

"Rossa?" she whispered asking by her tone alone if he will be alright.

"Kay.. He'll be fine, this likely hurts him like hell a right now though" she said looking at her brother in sympathy.

Kay went to his other side and took his clunched good hand in hers and moved her thumb over his cheek.

"Tav?" she questioned kissing his forehead.

"Ah, it's fine..." he murmured, bravely pushing at the pain; though it did no good. Truthfully, it wasn't yet, but he knew it would be and he hated her seeing how she, through the... ah, he heard his beloved's voice and pain? What is this pain you speak of? He was floating on a soft cushion of water in which nothing could harm him. Kay was here and that made everything for that brief moment perfection. Then he blinked back to reality and the pain assaulted him again. He felt her soft hands curl around his own callused ones and tried to open his eyes to look up at her. He knew what sort of expression was currently gracing her lovely face; love, marriage and time had allowed him to picture it. But he detested how helpless he was at that moment, unable to just sit up and assure her he was 'great'.
"Hey there..." he murmured, a weak smile turning up his lips. She kissed his forehead and he drew strength from the simple gesture. "Thanks for coming." Ah silly thing to say, of course she had come... how could he have ever doubted she would. "Not as bad as it looks..."

Rossa smiled slightly and continued her work on Tav's leg, thankful Kay's presence seemed to soothe him quite well as if there was any doubt.

"Almost done.." She muttered.

Kaylee smiled, Tav always wanted to show how tough he was but inside he as such a softy. Perhaps that was why she loved him so. "Your right, Rossa is doing a wonderful job" she said holding his hand. " I am glad you will be alright, when they told me you were in the hospital...." she said. Not needed to say how her heart had pounded and what thoughts went through her head when she had been contacted and told he was in the hospital. Though when she arrived at the hospital Jessy hadn't seemed worried, she seemed rather amused about it really.. Something about a bird..
