Viper's Office

"Where to, professor?" Ana asked.

The twins nodded, also curious.

"Ana does she seem different to you? since she was here last time?" Amy asked.

"The Chamber of Secrets."

"Awesome... I mean, how do we get there Professor?"
Ana was excited. The chamber of secrets!
A bit... more evil really. But her brother was killed...

"I though so, explains the white hair" thought Amy.

"Are we going to the Chamber now Professor?"she asked.

Viper nodded. "That was the plan. Unless you have other engagements, of course..." she said, testing them.

Ana glanced at the twins.
Do you have other plans?

"No we can go now" said Amy.

"I am curious to see what she has in mind, and what could still be in the Chamber" thought Aiden.

Viper smiled. "Very well, let's go." she said leading the way out of her office, taking care to extract a blood red vial from her desk and place it into her pocket.

A handsome black owl flew into the study and landed on the desk, a letter with a dark red seal in it's beak.
The seal was a serpent in the shape of a V.
The bird settled down to wait...

((presuming Viper's not back yet from the chamber))

Viper entered her office after her chat with Kiara only to find a letter waiting for it. Immediately she recogninzed the seal and opened it, curious as to why Reginald had written her a letter.

My dear Viper,

I would like to formally invite you to a duelling tournament hosted by myself, this coming Saturday. I enclose a formal candidate slip, and do most fervently hope that you shall be able to attend. It should be rather entertaining for everyone, and I believe some of your serpents will also be attending...

The envelope contains a candidate slip and a programme of events.

Viper eyed the letter with a mildly amused expression. She strongly suspected that Reginald had to persuade, if not flat out beg his wife to allow him to invite her. After all, Isabella wasn't particularly fond of Viper, although it was quite within good reason. Especially given Reginald and Viper's history together.

She sighed before sending him a note that she would indeed attend. Not only because she was curious to see who would be their, but because it would also be a wonderful opportunity to start recruiting allies and servants.

Viper stood in front of her desk, staring at her chalkboard. A piece of chalk mirrored her hand movements, scribbling and scrabbling various potions formulas and ingredients as she attempted her next potions project.

Kiara walked up to Vipers Office and knocked while pulling her cloak around herself, feeling cold.

"Stupid fever" she mumbled.
She wanted to talk to some one about the unknown death in the paper it gave her a bad feeling.

Viper paused and halted the chalks movements. "Come In!" she called out.

Kiara came surpressing a shiver at the cold air in the office.

"Have you seen the paper this morning? They found Charity McDoogle dead from unknown reasons" she said as she showed Viper the paper.

Viper raised an eyebrow. "Charity McDoogle? Oh I remember her." she made a face. "I hated her. She died, eh?" she rummaged through the top of her desk, searching for the prophet. She smirked to herself as she noticed the front page.

"Oh thats ghastly, her bloody leg -forgive the pun- is gone! Maybe a thestral got to her?" Viper suggested.

"Viper, theastrals don't hunt humans, something else killed her, and it wasn't the killing curse, no traces just dead" said Kiara as she sat down un a chair.

"Why did you hate her?"

Viper sighed. "Why would I like her? She was Madame High and Mighty Hypocrite. Preaching about morals but never following them herself."

She took a sip of her goblet. "Not to mention that she had the most horrendous tick in her throat ever! Hem hem, hem hem. You'd think she was digging for skrewts!" Viper rolled her eyes and shook her head, clucking her tongue in annoyance.

Kiara sighed and rubbed her head with her fingers, feeling a headache coming on.

"Anyway regardless of who she was, I have a bad feeling on how she died, it is errie"

Viper used every ounce of self-control not to laugh or smile. Recalling how a few days previously Eglantine lost control over her magic numerous times in the Great Hall, she ventured there. "Kiara, where was Professor Delanquar last night?"

Kiara blinked, "In bed I would think, she was remarkabley tiered yesterday" she said.

Viper raised an eyebrow. "How can you be sure, Kiara? You've seen her lately. She can't even eat a simple meal without harming someone. Who's to say last night was any different?"

Kiara shook her head but stopped when it made her dizzy, she refused to believe it. "That was a simple weakening of a spell Viper, an accident"

Pointing to the news paper se said "That was no accident"
