Viper's Office

Viper glanced at the photo of the body. "Her leg has been severed off, possibly from a spell gone wrong. The cause of her overall death is unknown, making a very long list of possible spells gone wrong. Kiara, its a plausible, likely reason. Do you know for a fact she stayed in her rooms all night?"

((Sorry I had to call my mom and she talks to much))

Kiara believed she did, but for factualy she couldn't say.

"I believe she didn't do it, but I can't turthfuly say I know it for a fact"

Viper nodded. "But you have to admit, Kiara. If its not likely, then it is at least possible. I don't believe she would do it out of cold blood. I doubt she even knew the witch. However, theres no knowing what she would do accidentally." Viper fought the urge to do the quotation fingers as she said accidentally.

Kiara sighed and took deep breath wraping her robe around her even more, aruging with Viper was tiering at the best of times, but with the fever draging her down she didn't have the energy. I was possible she had to admit it, but she refused to believe it with her heart.

"Yes it is possible, you don't know how possible but I don't believe it was her"

Green eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Kiara, had it been any other person than Professor Delanquar with these circumstances, would you still show just as much blind faith as you do now? Forgive me, Kiara, but you're letting your relationship with her cloud your judgement!"

(yeah right)

"Viper it is my relationship with her that guides my judgment, had it been a perfect stranger, I would have learned all I can about them before makeing a decision. I can't just turn on her because she might have done it." said Kiara tiredly.

She scoffed. "So what, you congratulate her for killing a Ministry official? Hold her as she cries and weeps over how she accidentally killed a witch?" Viper bit her lip, contemplating her hand of cards. "What about the students?" Viper challenged.

Kiara sighed and shivered.

"You have a point, but I....I can't...other then a possiblity it was her there is no proof. It probably wasn't... her.. i am sure she will get stronger soon"

Viper nodded. "Very well. I suppose we can just cross our fingers and hope it is not a student we are fond of who gets hit with her uncontrolled magic." she said dryly.

Then noticing Kiara's clearly unwell state she inquired concerned as to what it was. "Are you alright, Kiara? You look...." she pondered how to put this as politely as possible. "You look..off."

"Oh yeah I am just swell," said Kiara though it was ovbious she was lying through her teeth.. Weeks of worrying and helping were finally winner her over.

So the dip in to the cold water of the lake earlier merely was the cherry on top.

Viper nodded, summoning an ivory vial. "Here, its a warming potion. Take it before you sleep and you won't be shivering half as much and you'll be pulled into a dreamless sleep."

Kiara smiled tiredly at the warming potion, "as good as that sounds, the last thing I need is to be warmer. It is a fever Viper, it will go away on its own quicker with no potions. thank you for the offer though"

Viper shrugged. "As you wish. How did you get a fever, anyway?" She couldn't recall anyone else in the castle being sick and the weather had been rather warm lately.

"Side effect of the cold water of the lake, We thought Edwin got hurt by the creatures in there..... I...I went in after him"

"Lovely." Viper said dryly. "How did he get to the lake all by himself?" There were quite a few people who watched Edwin for at least a shortwhile during the day so Viper didn't quite understand how a toddler managed to get so far without any people noticing.

Kiara shrugged she was still miffed about that "I don't know actually, Eglantine said he got out sometime during the night when they were asleep, Some in there infiniate wisdom let him out of the castle"

Viper raised an eyebrow, trying to make sense of it all. She opened her mouth but then closed it, not wanting to suggest what was on her mind, knowing that Kiara would be more likely to snap at her than listen.

But figuring that Kiara was already irked at her, Viper realized she really didn't have anything to lose and decided to go for it. "Kiara," she asked in a soft voice. "Are you sure Professor Delanquar didn't push Edwin into the water herself?"

Kiara shook her "No, how can you even suggest that? she can t my office franticly looking for him? and she was so shooked by seeing Edwin in the water she passed..out"

Kiara stopped her mind was swimming.

"No I am sure she would never to that, not even a possibliy"

Viper shrugged. "If you insist. However, once upon a time we thought it wasn't a possibility that she would be incapable of going through a meal without putting everyone in danger. So please, for all the children in Hogwart's sake, Kiara, do keep this in mind."

Kiara leaned back defeated. "I will place wards up if I have to" she sighed she really really didn't want to but.... she might have to for all there sakes.

Eglantine knocked on the door, aware that both Kiara and Viper were inside.

"Hello Professor Delanquar, hope you don't mind these extra wards. We just think you're a danger to the entire student body. You know, the whole dining issues..." Viper fought back a laugh, failing miserably. "Good luck with that conversation, Kiara."

"C-Come In." she barely managed between laughs.

Eglantine stared indifferently at Viper, not a muscle in her face betraying her feelings. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap, shaking but not severely.

"Is that so?" she raised an eyebrow, looking at Kiara.

It took Viper a moment before realizing that Eglantine heard at least part of the conversation. She mentally scolded herself before the giggles erupted once more. Subtly, she moved a bit further from Eglantine beside Kiara. She decided to let the Headmistress handle this one.

She leaned closer to Kiara to whisper in her ear. "Practice your diplomacy." She winked before dissolving in another fit of giggles.

Kiara placed her head in hand, "You are no help Viper, you know that" she mumbled.

Messageing her forehead because her now splitting head ache, she managed a weak smile to Eglantine.

"Good after noon Eglantine"
