Viper's Office

"Thank you"

Turning back to potion, she found her place in the book and continued where she left off. Eventually she got into a rythym off slice and dicing the seemingly endless list of ingrediants. Until she finally got to the last ingrediant, the Wolfsbane. Ironically enough by it's self Wolfsbane was very poisonus to Werewolves, and the wolf inside her was saying to stay away from it.

Hesitating for only a moment she bit her lip and cut the Wolfsbane the way the book instructed.

Finally all the ingrediant were prepared.

Moving on to the brewing procedure she let out a sigh, appearenly the easy part was the preperation. The brewing procedure was complicated to say the least, well to her anyway. She had to stir counter clockwise while adding one thing, clockwise a certain number of times while making sure the cauldron didn't get to hot.

It went on and on, but she had to do it.

"Multi task girl you can do it" she mumbled as she turned the burner on and waited for it to reach the right temperature.

It was the hardest potion she ever had to make, she caught herself a number of times when she almost added something to early or the potion was to hot or to cold.

"No wonder Mother only let me watch when she did this..." she said as she stirred counter clockwise 10 times one way and clockwise 20 times the other way.

Finally she got to the Wolfsbane, which she needed to add just when the potion was at a simmer. After she added the wolfsbane she gradually turned the temperature down stiring it clockwise until it was the right colour.

There the heat was off the colour seemed right, she was finished.

Letting out huge sigh of exhaustion she turned to Professor Viper.

"Its done... umm did I do it right?"

Viper glanced at the potion impressed, an emotion she rarely had when it came to potionmaking. She smiled at the girl before throwing in an even rarer compliment. "Well done, Ms. Silvertongue. You have successfully made your Wolfsbane Potion." she waved her wand, transferring the potion into a small vial, handing it to the Hufflepuff.

Waving her hand once more, she summoned a small gold key. "Ms. Silvertongue, this is a key to the potion ingredients. Understand, love, that I never do something like this with students, so please, do not make me regret it." Viper warned as she handed the young girl the key.

Casey looked at Professor Viper in shook for a moment, finding it hard to believe this was the same women who only ever complimented her Slytherins.

"Wow... I mean.. thank you Professor, don't worry you won't regret it I promise." she said as she conjured a string and attacked it to the key. So she could hang it around her neck. Pocketing the potion she thanked the Professor again.

"Thank you so much Professor you no idea what this means"

Viper smiled at the girl's genuine emotion. "Don't mention it, Ms.Silvertongue. It was my pleasure teaching you. It's a rare occurence for me to encounter a student committed to learning potions without having to be spoon-fed all the information."

Casey nodded her head and she decided she liked the potions mistress. As long as you worked hard and didn't make careless mistakes it wasn't hard to get along with her.

"Thank you, though I can't take all the credit, I watched my mother brew the Wolfsbane Potion many times. She was a potion mistress once to at Beauxbatons when I was younger"

Viper raised an eyebrow in suprise. "She chose to be a Potions Mistress at Beauxbatons? She must have remarkable patience."

Casey shook her head.

"No way, she hated teaching there, wasn't a day that went by that I didn't hear her curse about a hopless student."

It had also been a hopless student who had caused her mother death.

Viper smiled slightly. "I believe we would have much to talk about then. Does she still work at Beauxbatons?"

Casey started to look uncomfortable. "No not anymore, there was a massive explosion in her potions lab 2 years ago....it effectively ended her career there"

Viper raised her eyebrows, why did this sound so familiar? Truth be told, she was sure she had heard the name 'Silvertongue' before...

"What was your Mother's name?"

"Her name was Celest Silvertounge, did you know her?"

Viper closed her eyes and silently nodded. Madame Silvertongue...she was a gifted witch and in the early days of her department, Viper had often approached her for opinions and suggestions. Unfortunetly, her death was caused by one single person's stupidity.

Adding wormroot to dragon's breath was fatal, devouring everything within half a mile. It was one of the most important lessons ever taught to potion students yet it slipped the mind of one of the brightest, killing an entire lab.

"Yes, Ms.Silvertongue, I did know your mother. Not enough to be best friends with her, but enough to know she would make make a good one. I'm very sorry, Ms.Silvertongue."

Casey nodded her head and blinked away tears, she had cried enough.

"Thank you Professor, I hope I do her proud"

Viper smiled gently. "Ms.Silvertongue, out of all the hundreds of student inhabiting this school, about seven of them are in my potions class. And out of that seven, you are the only one to have brewed as irritating of a potion as Wolfsbane. I daresay your mother's feeliings are beyond pride at your abilities."

Casey blushed, "I hope you are right, thanks"

Then she shook her head, "err I sound like broken record saying thank you all the time... umm I know I am only a 2nd and this may sound silly but if there is anything I can do to thank you, just name it. I do have one ability you may find usefull, I can talk understand and speak many languages, including animals...."

Viper raised her eyebrows. "Would that include merpeople?"

Casey nodded her head, "Yes any magical creature.. why?"

Viper sighed, wondering how to delicately present the situation. "I -erm- had an..incident...with the mermans..." she paused and laughed slightly wondering how many people could honestly say "I took their mer-king's heart."

Casey's jaw dropped,

"No wonder I hear nothing good coming form the lake recently, You are lucky they didn't kill you"

Viper laughed softly. "I suppose. It would be a very sad day to be swimming and dying without realizing it."

Casey blinked at the potion mistess with confusion,

"Without realizing it? They are hardly sudle with their tridents Professor, I think you would notice"

Viper paused, realizing who she was talking to. She liked the girl, true. But that didn't mean she was about to open up with all her secrets.

"It's nothing, Ms.Silvertongue. I...have an attention defeiceit disorder. Nothing more. Anyway, perhaps you may form a plan with the Headmistress. This is, after all, on her hands now."

"Umm alright I will speak to her"

Looking at time she needed to get moving it was full moon in a few hours.

"I better be going now...I'll see you later Professor"

On her way out she wondered how someone could be so good with potions and attention defeiceit disorder.

"Good bye, Ms.Silvertongue." realizing that it was a full moon she added. "Good luck!"

Juria walked to the poitons master's office, she noticed the door open but being polite she knocked on the door to announce she was there,

"Hello Professor? Are you there?"

Kiara had told Juria to go the the poitons master to try see of she might be able to recover her memories, however Juria ALSO needed poitons for healing and numbing and many other things for the infirmary.
