My Office

Kiara sighed "Yes I have, needless to say it was as bout as productive as my other converstions with her, have you talked with her?"

She was curious to here how well there conversation went.

"Yes, we had a lovely chat outside of Professor Kaminski's office door." She closed her eyes at the memory. "It went well all things considered..."

Kiara tilted her head "How so?"

"She asked me if I was angry at her and that if I was she had no idea why I might be. I told her that she was fortunate to not know... She then said that she was hardly fortunate to not know why her colleagues were being so unreasonably cruel to her. My response was "Cruel yes, unreasonably no..." She asked me to enlighten her and I said she was acting like a child. She..." Eglantine looked at Kiara. "This is going to take some time... Do you have a pensieve?"

Kiara nodded and with a wave of her hand a section of office folded away reveling a pensieve.

Kiara walked over to it and made sure no memories were floating around in it.

Then she motioned for Eglantine to depisite her memory in it

"Go right a head"

Eglantine touched her wand to her temple and removed a long silvery memory. Placing it into the pensieve, she nodded.

"You look without me." she muttered.

Eglantine knocked timidly on the DADA office door.

Viper halted in her steps a few feet from his office, however, when she noticed Eglantine right outside his door.

Eglantine stiffened, causing pain to travel up her entire torso.
She looked to see who was coming and saw the last person she wanted to see. Deciding to ignore the younger woman, Eglantine kept her eyes fastened on the door.

Viper turned back her original direction at the door.

"Good evening, Professor Delanquar." she said stifly as she left the books levitating for a moment as she jotted down a quick note for Sevastyan.


Eglantine visibly paled, fear etched in her eyes. "Good Evening." she returned softly.

Viper looked up briefly to meet Eglantine's gaze. She gave a barely visible smirk as she noticed the Professor pale noticeably and fear flash in her green eyes. She replied in a low voice, still writing her note.

"You look rather pale, Professor. Are you sure you're fit to be wandering around the halls?"

"Yes." Eglantine responded, hoping the DADA professor would come to her rescue soon. She had obviously no desire to start a conversation with Viper.

Viper nodded and smiled.

"Are you sure? Did Juria already look up on you. I'm positive if she were here right this moment, she would not approve of you gallavanting around the castle. God forbid, something unfortunate should happen."

"Indeed." Eglantine responded.

"Are you sure, you are alright, Professor? You look a bit flustered to me." Viper was baiting her, that much was obvious.

Viper used every ounce of her self control not to laugh at how annoyed Eglantine was getting, the older witch's irritation egging Viper on further.

"Are you sure, you are alright, Professor? You look a bit flustered to me." although Viper knew it was from irritation.

Eglantine gave Viper a cold glare. She could feign indifference as easily as one might slip into a pair of shoes.

"I am quite sure." she stated, evenly.

Viper raised an eyebrow. "Professor, are you angry with me? For I am at an absolute loss as to why you would be."

"How fortunate for you." Eglantine practically drawled.

Viper backed away a bit, affronted by Eglantine's actions. "How fortunate could I be if my fellow colleague is being unreasonably cruel to me?"

"Cruel? Maybe. Unreasonably, I do not think so."

Viper halted in her note writing, leaving the parchment and quil to levitate. She crossed her arms over her chest. "Enlighten me, Professor. What did I do to you to cause you to act this way towards me?"

"If you must act like a child, you will be treated as a child." Eglantine responded, coldly, fingering something in her pocket.

Viper scoffed. "Professor Delanquar if you are so eager to unjustly label others as children then I suggest you send for Edwin to return, if you are so desperate for a child's presence. What is it, Professor? Do you need a child to come runing to you just so you feel your life is actually worth something? That you are needed?" she asked venemously, her eyes on the border of green and gray meeting Eglantine's, challenging her.

Eglantine returned the glare in full. "You are twenty-two years old, Professor." she stated. "I have no need for a child's presence, however I have yet to remember a day that I have not thought that I was in a spoiled little girl's presence whenever I am with you. You attempt to upset me, to get some sort of reaction from me, for no reason other than that you need attention, badly. I pity you, Miss Viper. Because there are hundreds of children who had a terrible childhood as you did that end up wishing they had had half the opportunities that you have now. You squander your life, waste your talents and hasten your own destruction by a foolish desire for something you already possess."

Viper laughed bitterly. "I need attention, Professor? Who is it that causes a scene in the middle of the great hall? Who is it that cannot eat a meal without harming nearly all those around her? Who is it that mopes around, moaning over their pain? Who is it who can't get over the fact that their husband is dead because the Ministry singled her out? It's I who should be pitying you, Professor. Unfortunetly I see no use for pity so I keep none at all, regardless of who it should deserve." she replied icily.

"And what do you mean hasten my destruction? Were you planning on killing me in front of the defense against the darks arts classroom? As ironic as the ideadwould be, it would be quite rude to Sevastyan, opening his door to find his colleague's dead corpse before him." she said dryly.

"Desire for what I already posess..." she scoffed. "Prithee, tell me what it is you mean by that. tell me, what do I seek that I do not realize I already have? I am curious."

Eglantine ignored Viper's accusations. True as they were, Viper did not really seem interesting in a two sided truth conversation. She appeared to only want to argue.

"You hasten your own destruction by making those who strived to be your friends into your enemies. And as for what you already possess...Do you not desire power, respect? You already have both, you're just too self-centred to see it."

Viper smiled to herself, noticing that Eglantine did not deny anything Viper said. However, the smile was replaced with a slight frown and a look of disbelief at Eglantine's next statement. "What power? The power to put a student in detention, take a few house points, make them cry? Respect? I'd hardly call a sniveling student being a symbol of respect. Or a student in awe, sucking up to me to gain something in return respect, Professor. And as it stands that is not entirely what my desires consist of. Maybe a small portion of it but not enough that it is guiding my every action and word."

"Then what are your desires?" Eglantine asked, she really could care less, but Viper was making it difficult for her to speak to her.

Viper scowled. "Why would I tell you? I am after all nothing more than a spoiled little girl!" she said dryly.

Eglantine's glare softened. "Then I suggest you attempt to change that." she responded softly.

Viper raised an eyebrow at the sudden change of feeling. "What, is this the part where I am supposed to run to you, begging for comfort and crying, rest my head on your lap and tell you I can't because I'm a screw up? then I cry and cry as you comfort me, tell me, I'm not so I feel better and you feel better about yourself under the false impression you helped lead me to 'the right way' all from the goodness of your heart?" she replied nastily.

Eglantine shook her head. "No, this is when you defend yourself, by lashing out at me. This is when you try to make yourself feel better by hurting someone else."

Viper relaxed her features to a more solemn look. Concerned, she gently placed her hand on Eglantine's shoulder. "I'm sorry, Professor. Was I hurting you? I wasn't aware of how painful the truth would be..."

Eglantine sighed. "You are a paradox, Professor." she stated simply. And to think she had only come to the office door to speak to Professor Kaminski.

"No, I'm a victim." she said simply with a faint hint of snottyness.

"Indeed." Eglantine agreed.

"Honestly though, why are you and Kiara being so frigid around me? She's even sent a portrait to spy on me! What in Circe's name did I do?"

"You have delved deeper into the dark arts." Eglantine responded softly. "It is unmistakeable."

Viper stiffened. "You have no proof. It is nothing more than an unjust statement with no support whatsoever." she replied softly as.

Eglantine looked up at the white bangs and then back into Viper's eyes. "I need none and I seek none."

The memory faded just as the DADA office door opened.

Kiara pulled her self out of the memory as it ended.

"Hmm interesting, I must say you got more of a reation out of her then I did, Though I am more sure my intincts about her were right. I just can put my finger in why" she said as she sat at her desk.

Eglantine shrugged. "It does not really matter. No one on Hogwarts staff has not delved into the dark arts... who are we to judge her." She neatly pinned Kiara with a knowing glare.

Kiara look taken back by the glare

"None of us to go beyond Voldemort Eglantine. there is a point of no reture when it come to dark arts and when it starts to effect the mind. She dwelves to deep we could be looking at the dark "lady".

Eglantine sighed. "And want do you suppose we do about it?" she asked, seriously, not a hint of sarcasm or petting in her voice. "She does not listen to anyone..."

Kiara sighed "I know, there isn't much we can do about it at the moment, she is right in that respect we have no proof to support what we say.... just a unnerving feeling that she is laughing at us"

Eglantine raised an eyebrow. "You sound as if you desire to gather evidence. Do you?"

"It is my way of thinking Eglantine I can''t help but investigate, however I haven't worked out yet what I would do if my intuition is correct and she is going too deep. I wouldn't wish to fight her..."

Eglantine nodded, fingering the yew wand in her pocket. Whenever she touched it, a small surge of energy trembled through her fingers and she was becoming used to the feeling.
"Well, if you did find out she was attempting to become the new dark queen or lady, then I suppose you could simply turn her over to Harry Potter, he is the Chief Auror or head..." Besides, she added silently, he has a great deal of experience with Dark Lords, maybe a Dark Lady would be a welcome change.

Kiara sighed, "Well I would inform the ministry yes, and the aurors would be alerted including Harry Potter, weather or not he make it his personal mission I do not know... and how you would suppose I "turn her over" it isn't like she would go quietly"

"Wouldn't she? If she truly wished to not repeat the mistakes of the past, she would go along without much fuss..." she was not being serious, that much was certain.

Kiara let out a small laugh " Very funny Eglantine... can you imagine Viper of all people willingly go into custody for being the dark lady?..."

"Well, I can if I imagine her being unconscious or intoxicated...but no not willingly while alive and thinking..."

"There is an idea we could catch her on one of her vodka nights...." Kiara said with a smirk.

"But for now just be normal with her and keep a eye on out, which reminds me..." Kiara summond the newspaper that had the report on the sudden death of Charity McDoogle.

"This is why I was in Vipers office that night" she said as she passed the news artical to Eglantine.

"They don't know hat killed her, there was not evidence left behind what so ever"

"Someone was killed?" Eglantine glanced at the news article. "And you think it was Viper..."

Kiara sighed "Perhaps, after the conversation in her office I have my susppitions...." Kiara said.

Hoping Eglantine would not inquire as what the converstion was.

Eglantine nodded. "Did she beg for forgiveness and claim she was under an unforgivable?"

Kiara shook her head "Neither... she chose to try point her finger at someone else"

Eglantine looked confused. "And just whom did she think..." she froze, eyes widening.

Kiara sighed and said quietly "I did not agree with her on that point Eglantine"
