My Office

Amy looked around It seemed like a family issue so she asked..

"Umm should we leave?"

"No it's alright," Nicolas said to Amy. "I think I'd rather stand though, What is it?"

"I'll do it Professor," Diana said bravely. She stood up and faced him. "Nicolas...."

"Diana? Are you crying? What happened?" Nicolas started to panic.

"Nicolas... Tio Armando... h-he died." Diana managed to breathe out, before she started to truly cry.

"What?" Nicolas said. He turned to the Headmistress. "How did this happen?"

(( I am assuming Diana told Kiara the story? If not, i can change it))

Kiara took a deep breath, she always hated telling family members how there loved one died.

"He was caught in a tomb in egypt, some powerful wards around the tomb killed him, however there is something else... Miss Casillas?" she asked as she turned to Diana.

((Nope it's fine.))

"Nicolas... they don't think it's an accident." Diana said. "They think he was murdered."

"Murdered?" Nicolas said in disbelief. "Who would want to murder him?"

Diana hesitanted before answering. She knew her cousin well. Rash, impulsive, he'd most likely do something stupid.

He knitted his brow, "Who murdered him?"

"He was working w-with..." Diana stopped.

"Nick," she used his nickname to try and calm him down. "Please don't do anything stu-"

"Diana..." He said with a warning tone. "Tell me."

"They think it was a..." Diana said, "Vaight."

As soon as the name was said, Nicolas was out the door.

Amy and Aiden were on his trail, there was only one person she could think of who Nick would go after so quickly.

"Nick wait!! It won't change anything stop!" yell Amy from behind.

Diana ran after Nicolas, "Nicolas! He's not part of it!"

Diana caught up with the twins. "Do either of you know where Darien Vaight might be?"

The twins shook their heads.

"But... we may be able to warn him" said Amy.

Diana shook her head. "I don't know if that's the best idea."

"If he knew Nicolas is coming at him, he might try and fight him." Diana said. "Can you just tell him to stay out of Nick's way?"

Amy and Aiden looked at each other.

"I think it is safe to assume he will ask why we want him to avoid him and then go looking for Nick him self..... Best bet is to find Darien before Nick does" said Amy.

"Yes," Diana said nodding. "That would be best."

Diana snuffled a sob and gave out a hiccup. "Sorry about that... I just can't believe my uncle..."

The twins may have been Slytherins but they weren't heartless.

"No we understand, we know it hurts, but we got to get a move on or Nick might do something he will regret later" said Amy.

"Yes," Diana nodded, her voice quivering. "You're right."

"Where could Darien be?"

"Aiden will you do the honors?"

Aiden nodded and streched his mind out.

"I think they are at the whompeing willow" he said. "lets go"

Diana nodded and turned to go. However right at that very moment, an owl delievered a letter to her. She opened it quickly and it was the letter that her mother was talking about. It said that they were called from school to attend the courtcase.

Kiara led the way into her office, and with a wave of hand her mothers old tea set floated out on to her desk. It hand been ages since she used it.

"Any preference for tea tonight Eglantine?" she asked.

"No, as long as it is hot it is drinkable." Eglantine responded. "Shall I set up the chess
set?" she asked, levitating a ornately carved case from a compartment in the wheelchair. Obviously she had come prepared for a game...

"Very well" she said as she ran fingers through all her tea's, she was a avid tea drinker only of the only things she could drink beside coffee. Cold drinks did nothing for her.

"I didn't know you played Chess, its never really occured to me to mention it."

"I am not very good at the game, but nonetheless I do enjoy it. When I was a child, I was taught how to play it by one of our neighbours. I played it with a professor at Salem, at times with my father, my brother, my husband, Lachesis, Genevieve and now I suppose I will play it with you." she smiled briefly, a whispered charm setting up the board.

The pieces were ivory and granite, lovely pieces of work that had obviously been the pride of some skilled craftsman. Each figurine was seamless and smoothly carved, its body seemingly sung from the ivory and stone as fairies were have rumoured to sing.
"White or black?"

Kiara smiled "Black please... hmm Mr. Cheerful over there" she motioned to Snapes portrait.

"First taught me how to play.... no appretice of his would not know how to play. My only other chess partner now resides in your pocket. So I would feel good to play again"

Eglantine nodded. The board turned so that black faced Kiara and white face herself.

The black granite king bowed to Kiara and then to the other side of the board, where the ivory king returned the bow.
With a flick of her wand, a white pawn moved forward and the game began.

Kiara looked at the board both she and Eglantine had taken losses and both had two queens on the board.

"Hmmm..." she said thinking, Then she saw a ovbious gap, in Eglantines defense, the King was un protected on his left side.

"Queen 2 to C7"

The Black Queen moved across the board and stopped looking ready to strike.

"Checkmate" she said and the Queen made the board knocking the white king over.

Eglantine feigned surprise. "That was unexpected." she stated, obviously amused as the black queen bludgeoned the white king again and again with his sword. "Obviously you were taught very well."

She sipped her tea and sighed. "Anything interesting floating about the castle?" she asked.

Kiara blinked and wondered if she could get any info on the night Eglantine and Horatio went into the forbidden forest.

"Well I don't know about floating but i had a rather interesting meeting with our new histroy professor..." she paused wondering if Eglantine would tell her what she already knew.

"Have you meet him yet?"

Eglantine hesitated for a moment before answering. "Yes, he wished to discuss something with me. Nice gentleman, wouldn't you say."

Kiara nodded "Hmm yes and quite blunt from my first meeting with me, I must say I intriged by him"
