Casey was just going to wander into a lake full of evil merpeople without a care?
"And you'll just wander in without back-up? What happened to...diving buddies or whatever?"

Casey smiled, no wonder Diana liked him so much.

"They can't harm me, or rather they won't, I am a beast speaker, it is against their unwriten code to harm me. You unfortunately would be if you went with me"

"And I'm a wolf. I could kick their slimy behinds to mars..." Darien growled, shrinking down and turning his furry head to one side, looking extremely dignified.

Casey raised an eye brow, he was actually willing to go with her?

"Have you seen angry mer- people? they are quick in that water and very quick to fire harpoons at intruders, wolf or not"

Darien rolled his eyes. Hard to do when you're a wolf. As is speech.
With strength of will, he changed back his vocal chords and voicebox. Human voice.
"Well, have you seen me fight as a wolf? I took lessons for Merlin's sake... And more importantly, do I look stupid enough to go in without a nice ward around me? Oh, and yes, I am a talking wolf."
He flashed his 'adorable' grin, wolf teeth flashing brilliant white in the sunlight.
It was so fun being partially transformed. He could do a circus act...Hm...possibilities.

Casey sighed she was to tiered to argue.

"Fine but promise me you will stay in control, won't be any help if you maul one of them"

Kiara looked at the two students in disbelief , did they actually think she would willingly let them go swimming with a bunch of murderous merpeople? no thanks to Viper.

"The answer is no, I won't have either of you being put into danger like that"

"But Headmistress, they won't harm me, they can't, it is like killing a unicorn you just don't do it. I will be fine"

A handsome man looking about 28 years old approached the headmistress's door cautiously, constantly looking behind his back. The man had raven hair bairly brushing his shoulders and piercing green eyes that held a certain hardness in them, barely concealed past pain and agony flickering in the emerald orbs. Carfeully, he knocked on the door, hoping for a reply.

Kiara sighed "Now what?" she didn't recognise the presence at the door so she wondered who it was.

Waving her wand she opened the door.

"Come in"

The man stepped into the office carefully, suprised to see the woman before him. He had heard the new Headmistress was young, but not that young as she appeared to be. Clearing his throat, he immediately cut to the point of him intruding on her precious time.

"Excuse me, I am looking for my sister. I have heard she is currently employed here and was hoping you could direct me to her."

"Sister?"

Kiara blinked, since this man obviously wasn't Eglantines brother, she assumed he was talking about Viper they certinaly looked related.

"Your Viper's brother? she should be down in her quarters or the potions lab"

The man nodded. "Oh, how rude of me. I am Dracovan Viper. Amaranth's older brother. It is a pleasure to meet you, Headmistress." he said, taking her hand and kissing it gently in courtesy. "Please forgive this intrusion, but it is imperative that I speak to my sister. The potions lab, you say? Of course...she always was a prodigy when it came to potions. Tell me, how is dear Amaranth?"

Kiara felt her face heat up as the man, Vipers brother kissed her hand, but she shook it off.

"She is doing quite well, probably feeling very happy with her self at the moment actually, I can take you to her if you want"

Dracovan smiled a genuine smile, the new headmistress was very kind. "That is most generous of you, Headmistress, but please. I do not wish to intrude on your hospitality any longer."

"No it's alright it is no trouble at all"

Turning her head to the two students, "I will be back in a minute"

Waving her wand she opened the door "after you"

Dracovan smiled, shaking his head. "Now what kind of gentleman would I be if I passed before a lady?" he asked, moving to grant her access.

Kiara smiled and felt her face heat up again, she wasn't used to this either.

"Umm thank you" said Kiara as she walked out the door.

(To Viper's quarters? if not where to?)

Darien watched in silence, still in wolf form on the floor.
Interesting...
He waited, standing quite still, watching the Headmistress and Viper's brother. The moment they were gone, he'd transform back.

Casey shrugged,

"That was weird, did you see her blush?"

Darien grinned, still with human voice.
"That was funny. Very very funny. I was trying not to snigger, it might have freaked him out. And it sounds very wheezy."
He assumed a thoughtful expression.
"Now, do I return to human form or have fun as a wolf that can talk?... I say..." he leapt onto the Headmistress' desk and then onto the top of the bookcase. The Sorting Hat...
"Ah, my old nemesis..." He poked at it with his nose.

Walking over to the desk Casey asked,

"Nemesis? how is the Sorting Hat your Nemesis?"

"It doubted my Slytherin-ness and thought it knew me better than I did. Stupid headgear."
The hat came to life.
"Will you watch that snout of yours? It's wet."
"What's the matter? Are you only hand-washable?" Darien bared his fangs.
"You Slytherins have no respect! I am your elder, wiser and-"
"And I have big teeth." Darien opened his mouth to give the hat a good view of his inch-long front fangs. "I think I win."
"Age and experience are-"
"Outdated. And if you don't shut up, you'll be even more outdated than you already are." Darien smirked. "Oh, and you'll be full of holes."
"Why you little-"

Casey quickly jumped up and grabbed the hat around it's mouth.

"You don't know when to shut up do you stupid hat" she mumbled as she held the hat behind her back.

Smiling she said to Darien, "not that I wouldn't enjoy seeing you rip this old thing to shreds. But I doubt the Headmistress will be impressed that you ruined the only way sorting the first years."

((lol, its up to you if they hook up or not, but Dracovan's manners are just because he was raised to be a courtier, just like Viper, therefore he has very oldfashion manners.))
