Kiara frowned with the nature of the Excessum it wouldn't surprise her if someone sent Eglantine a spell such as that.

"Yes Eglantines husban died several years ago, however given the nature of your reaserch I doubt he would be able to help you any way he was a muggle. But I think you should ask Professor DeLanquar, her maiden name is Rosier and your reasearch sounds like something she would have been interested in, she may be able to help you" said Kiara althought she dearly hoped she wasn't making a mistake in telling this man this.

Horatio's smile evaporated. "Rosier." he stated stiffly. "Cledwyn Rosier no doubt was the thief then." he sighed deeply. "Does this professor have a history with the Dark Arts? All the Rosiers I ever knew did. He was even expelled from the group after he began to dig too deeply." Horatio stood quickly.

"Still..." he muttered, picking up the photo. "She does not look very dangerous."

Kiara sighed "Eglantine is a very nice person, she is a very good friend of mine in fact, if she does have your research I don't think she would misuse it, if anything I think she would further the research for the pure sake of doing it. She may not even know it was stolen"

"Forgive me. I was not trying to say that she would misuse it." Horatio clasped his hands behind his back. "Most likely she does not know it was stolen and if that is the case, I may simply ask her to destroy it. You see, I do not like the idea of anyone furthering research that may harm people intentionally or unintentionally. Innocent as a desire spell may be , imagine the chaos that could emerge if it was used often by more than one person. Or even if that one person desired something horrendous."

He paused to chuckle. "Or chaotically unwanted. Say to see dinosaurs... I would not want to be around when that desire came to life."

Kiara smiled thankful she hadn't just sent someone after Eglantine in a rage, it is the last thing the women needed at the moment.

"Yes I see your point that could be rather chaostrophic now wouldn't it? If anyone here at hogwart knows of what you are seeking, it is her."

"I am curious, Headmistress. If I do go and speak with Professor DeLanquar... is there anything I should be careful not to bring up? You seem to know her well and I would hate to hurt her simply due to ignorance." He had also wished to ask her several others things, but patience forced him to save those for later.

Kiara bit her lip, Eglantine had been through so much it was hard to know wha up set her anymore.

"I would avoid asking about her health, she has been through a rough time as of late and is currently in a wheel chair, she can get a little senstive about that type of thing, she doesn't like being pettied."

Horatio nodded. "One of the noble silent types, eh?" He stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Very well then, I will attempt to be careful of that. Now that aside, I greatly look forward to teaching here. I attended many years ago and am longing to get to know this castle again. How long have you been Headmistress, may I ask?"

Kiara nodded and smiled "This is my first year as Headmistress, before that I worked as an Auror, I was asked to come in when the last one retired"

Horatio lifted his bushy eyebrows. "A year only and not even that. My word! You're a natural Headmistress." he winked at her and seated himself once again in the chair.

"Now then," he sighed. "Do you mind smoke?" Horatio pulled an ornately carved pipe from his pocket and rose it to his lips, waiting for permission. "Your last name escaped my hearing." he gently coaxed.

Kiara looked uncertainly at the pipe for a moment, given her lungs were easily irritated, her and smoke didn't get along.

"One second.." waving her hand she opened her office window and cast a ventilation charm to keep the air flowing through the room.

"You can if you want"

Then she adressed his second question.

"As for my last name I don't often tell what it is... err did you know Voldemorts human name?"

Horatio noted her actions and slid the pipe back into his pocket. Obviously she did mind smoke and he could live without it. "I think fresh air might be best." he commented, smiling.

"Voldemort's human name... Hmm... yes he's the Dark Lord Harry Potter defeated. Tom Riddle wasn't it. Forgive me, my knowledge of history goes so far back I often confuse the details... I take it that you are a relative of his then? How charming. The Riddle family has always been very very muggle."

Kiara nodded "Yes, Tom Riddle was my cousin on my fathers side, so you understand why I don't usually tell what my last name is?"

She was relieved when he didn't light his pipe last thing she needed was to have attack.

"I can see why." Horatio nodded. "There are those who may fear a cousin of a dark lord." He rose from his chair. "I know that many times it can be awkward trying to decide what to call people. I am Horatio when you are happy with me and Professor McKevin when I have upset you. That way, my poor old brain doesn't have to figure out anything." he chuckled.

"How shall I address you, my dear?"

Kiara smiled "Call me Kiara when there are no students to hear everyone else does, and Headmistress when we are around nosie students. And there is no need to fear me I am nothing like Voldie" she said as she rose as well.

Horatio chuckled again. "Lovely face and a lovely sense of humour to match. I'm afraid I never had the unfortunate occasion to meet our newest Dark Lord." And for that he was more than grateful. Research had its perks... as his great-great-neice would say.

Kiara smiled and nodded, she had a feeling they would get along well, as long as he didn't smoke to much

"Lucky for you, I had the mis fortune of meeting him a few times, he wasn't plesent. Plus I shudder to think what would happened it he caught word of your reseach"

"My research would hardly have been of any use to him, Kiara." Horatio assured her. "The research stolen from my group was not even my own work. I am afraid that my research was far more dull. Only spells that no one will ever use and potions that are as useless as water vials." He clasped his hands behind his back again and glanced up at the ceiling. "Still I'm glad he never paid me a visit. Would have been a rather odd tea."

"Odd wouldn't be the word I would use..... Any way was there anything else?" Kiara asked.

Horatio shook his head. "No, nothing else, except I hope you have a nice day and I look forward to conversing with you again." He turned to leave the office but paused to glance back at Kiara. "Oh yes! Do you like flowers?" he asked.

Kiara blinked and smiled "I find they are nice to have, yes " she answered.

"I will keep that in mind. Have a nice day." He bowed slightly and swept out of the office, his robes hardly moving due to their weight.

Kiara looked over at Saturn as she flew through her window.

"That was a rather interesting meetinrg would you say?" she asked with a smile.

Diana waited patiently for Nicolas to arrived. Her uncle and her were close. Being the youngest of his generation, he created a sort of kinsmanship with Diana and Nicolas. Nicolas pretty much hero-worshipped Armando. He wouldn't take this good.

"Professor?" Nicolas said coming in. "You wanted to see me?"

Kiara nodded gravely.

"Have a seat Mr Casillas, we have some bad news, it would be best if you sit"

She noticed the Avalon twins there also but she turned to Diana "Do want to tell him or do you want me to?" she asked gently.
