The Park

The cat glanced at the sandwich, obviously not impressed with the pitiful offering. Delicately rising to her feet, she gingerly ate the tuna off of the bread without so much a touching a crumb and then curled up again against Kiara's leg.

Kiara sighed and petted the cat more, "well you sure are friendly at any rate, and quite pretty." she said.

The cat actually looked up at Kiara's statement, her eyes glittering as if pleased.
"Meow..." she purred, licking her paw.

Kiara laughed lightly feeling her mood get steadily better, "You are a wonderful listener kitty, it us like you understand what I am saying.. are you sure you are not an animagi?" she asked in amusment. Well one never knew right?

The cat cocked her head to the side as if daring Kiara to ask her that question again.

Kiara chuckled, "Altight Kitty, I won't ask..." she said as she petted the cat once again.

Sitting by the tree in silence for a minute she sighed. well having a smart cat sitting on her lap, it was the perfect thing to talk to, about ones troubles.

"You caught me on a not so good day Kitty, Two people who are most precious to me are in danger... for no reason at all other then one mans need to flunt his power over me. He gave me a choice, to break the kind heart of the man I love dearly or keep the boy I love as a son safe from harm. It is a rather crule choice isn't it Kitty?" she said talk her problem out to the feline.

"I know.. I should tell the man I love about this shouldn't I?"

The black cat seemed to ponder the question, her small head gazing down to stare at the leaves. Finally she nodded her head and yawned.

Kiara blinked, did the cat just nod at her? yes it did.

"Who are you really Kitty? not everyday a normal cat nods in unstanding to me" she said.

The cat smirked at her, an oddly human gesture as she stretched and yawned.
The small lithe black body twisted momentarily and soon a cream tabby stood where the black cat had. And then it was replaced with Eglantine DeLanquar.
"I suggest a new brand of tuna..." she murmured.

Kiara stood with her mouth agap for a moment before her recoved, "Eglantine? You tricked me" she said.

Then she realized she told Eglantine all that had happened that day and she sighed... " And I told you everything.." she said.

Eglantine raised an elegant eyebrow. "I hardly tricked you, Kiara." she murmured, raising a trembling hand to her face. There was a distinct mark on her lower jawline, almost akin to a slap mark.
"I merely came here to comfort you." she stated, glancing at Kiara's bleeding knuckles...

Kiara sighed "I guess so, Thank you..."

Then she noticed Eglantine's trembleing hands and the mark on her jaw.

"What happened?" she asked standing up and moving toward Eglantine with concern in her eyes.

Eglantine sighed, waving her other hand as if it was nothing. "Student's dog, lieb. Nothing more. Who exactly threatened Ciaran and Tavish?"

Kiara blinked, "A Dog? I fail to see how a Dog could do that...it looks like someone hit you" she said.

"and as for who well... it was my munipuative uncle.. My mothers twin brother. He enjoys watching me jump throw hoops to get what I want" she said.

Eglantine ignored the comment, instead raising an eyebrow at the mention of Kiara's uncle.
"Is he sill living?" she asked, her face stern.

Kiara made note the she ignored her comment.

"Yes he is, the thorn in my side.." she said.

Concern for her mother grew and she asked again, "Where did the bruise come form Eglantine?" she asked again more directly this time.

Eglantine nodded, her eyes flashing with a well contained rage. If her path ever crossed with a certain uncle...he would doubtfully survive the encounter.

"Student's dog attacked me, Kiara." she repeated, although softer this time.

Kiara raised an eye brow and looked at closely. She gave Eglantine a hard stare "Last time I checked Eglantine Dogs bit when they attack, not hit... I have seen enough of them to know the difference" she said with a sigh.

"Fine keep your secrets.... I have to talk to Ciaran" she said slowly walking away.

Eglantine followed after Kiara, her feet hovering above the ground.
"Don't Kiara..." she called. "If you tell him he will not be able to help you." She stopped hoping Kiara would come back to her instead of forcing her to run after her...

Kiara stopped and looked at Eglantine in shock. "How can I not tell him Eglantine, I know first hand how dangerous my so called uncle is..... He has no problem with ending innoncent life. How can I not tell him I know he and his son are in danger!" she said.

Eglantine said nothing for a moment, taking the time to hover closer to Kiara. "You can better protect them who do not know..." she stated.

Kiara's mouth dropped, "I can't you are telling me this.... if he were to find out... or if something does happen to Tav I could never forgive myself. Your asking me to keep something immportant form him... something that direct involves him... He had the right to know" she said, a tear appearing in her eye.

"Like Horatio with Excessum?" Eglantine countered, softly. "Or Edwin..."

Kiara shook her head, "But.... that is different..." Kiara said very confused.

Kiara looked at Eglantine, none of this made sense her eyes trailing to the mark on her face. She walked closer to Eglantine and gently put her hand on the other side of Eglantines face.

"Tell me what is going on Eglantine, Who gave you that? and don't say it was a students dog because I don't believe you" she said quietly.

Eglantine looked straight into Kiara's blue eyes, her own green ones clear and composed.
"Why is it different?" she whispered. "Do you think he will love you if he discovers who you really are? or who you were?" her voice was barely legible it was so faint.

"Horatio found out about Edwin..." she murmured, her hand absently rubbing her arm where bruises along her forearms were hid in her heavy sleeves.
