The Park

Tav leaned his head against Kiara's shoulder, allowing his step-mother and mum to comfort him.
"That's okay, I don't blame you." he murmured, wiping a hand under his nose. He was acting like a baby, he realized. But it didn't help to think it.

"Thanks..." he murmured, trying to smile. Happy... he didn't feel happy.
"No, it's fine."

Kiara shook her head having nothing of it, "Nonsence Tav, Come on, lets go to Hogsmeade, my treat okay? Come Honey we can't let your 9th birthday, be all doom and gloom can we?" Kiara said as she gave him a pat on the shoulder and motioned for him to follow her.

"The would be awful" she said bound and determined to lift his spririts before heading home.

And..."It would make me feel a little better about almost missing out on such an important day" she said giving him a smile.

Cheering up at the mention of going to Hogsmeade, Tav smiled.
"Okay, that sounds sweet." he murmured, following after her. He blushed when she mentioned the importance of the day and her not feeling the best about having forgotten it. No longer upset, he took her hand.
"I'm okay now. Promise." he smiled. "Thanks, Mum."

Kiara smiled, "Don't mention it Tav, I glad you are feeling better, someone shouldn't be sad and alone on the own birthday... How does going to get some lunch from Three broomsticks and then ice cream for deserte sound?' she asked leading the way to the exits at the wards...

"Want to walk there or do you like Apparating?" she asked as she knew some kids hated Apparation if they weren't used to it...

"I am happy with either... or.. Oh I know want to fly there?" she asked, it seemed it had been ages since she road her broom.

"That sounds wicked!" Tav cheered, an instant smile at the mention of his favourite sugar treat. Ice cream was linked to birthdays anyway.

"Apparating is faster..." he murmured, his stomach growling softly. "Oh yeah! Flying would be epic!" he embraced Kiara tightly, more glad than ever that he had a new mum as wonderful as her.

Kiara chuckled and graetfuly returned the hug, "I was hoping you would say that" she said as she brought her fingers to her mouth and whistled loudly.

After a minute two brooms came out of the sky and floated beside there masters.

"I have been looking for a opporunity to ride, this is a perfect one if I do say so myself" she said getting on her old Firebolt.

It made her smile that Tav was made happy so easily, and he was such a sweet kid.

"Come lets get some food and sweets into you, and you can pick what to do from there okay birthday boy?" she said

Tav beamed as the brooms settled down beside them.
"Wow, you had it all ready." he cheered, climbing aboard his.

"Okay... Race ya there!" he challenged shooting off into the air. The cool wind in his hair and against his face lifted his spirits even as the magic lifted his broom. This was the worst birthday ever turning slowly but surely to a heavenly one.

Kiara smiled and laughed lightly, she put on a innocent look at his statment at having it all ready.... he had no idea just how true that statment was..

"Imagine that.." she muttered before smiling and taking off after Tav on her broom.

"Your on"

She had forgotten how much she like to fly, the weather was perfect for it to... she loved spring.

She pretty much followed Tav's trail all the way to Hogmeade.. she wasn't horribly behind, concidering her broom was older then Tav him self, and Tav was smaller and lighter then her... allowing him speed. She wouldn't mention she would have let him win if she had the choice.....

She was just thrilled he was happier now, it amazed her really, how it didn't really take much to make the little boy happy... and the day had only just started..
