The Edges of the Lake (Northside)

Haydon gave a watery chuckle. "Thanks, Diana." He shrugged. "Since my First Year. Zabby met with Mum and I was there, standing in the background, watching. When I confronted Mum about it, she refused to tell me anything about Zabby Gallagher. So I researched the Gallagher family. She's still my sister, Diana...And she doesn't know."

"Yes, I think she told me about confronting her biological mother..." Diana said. She frowned, "I don't understand it though, how come your mother didn't want you two to meet?"

Haydon shrugged. "I dunno. I think she was embarrassed. Mum was dating my dad when she got pregnant with Zabby. When he found out, he was pissed. They hadn't planned on a kid...So Mum let Dad for a while. She left for her family in France and had the baby there. She came back and put Zabby up for adoption...Dad thought Zabby had died... She might be doing it to protect me..."

He sighed. "And if Dad found out Zabby was alive, who know's what'd happen. He spends most of our money on material crap. That's why I'm worried about my tuition for the next two years..."

"Merlin..." Diana said looking at Haydon sadly. She suddenly wrapped her arms around him. "That's one big mess you got there."

Haydon turned into the embrace and cried. "Yeah...It is..." He sighed onto her shoulder. "Diana, what should I do?"

"Haydon, I think you should tell Zabby." Diana said pulling away from the hug.

He shook his head. "That'd be disasterous. If Dad found out..."

"No," Diana said. "I think Zabby needs to know. I mean, if you were in her position, wouldn't you want to know about you?"

"Besides I don't see how your father will find out if you tell Zabby." Diana said.

"Listen, she's your sister, families are suppose to stick together right?"

Haydon frowned. "I-I guess I'd wanna know..." he said pouting. "I think it's an irrational fear of my dad. I suppose...But how? How do I tell her?"

"I guess saying, 'Hey I'm your long lost brother,' the in middle of the Common Room won't do the trick yeah?" Diana joked.

"Yes... perhaps just ask for a word. Or try to find her alone. Oh, do not do it when she is having a bad day. No one is ready for any news on a bad day."

Haydon chuckled. "No. I don't think it would. She's been worried about her grades, so not anytime soon, knowing my luck. Haha." His laugh was sarcastic and held no humor.

"No, Hadyon, I think you should tell her soon." Diana said. "You know get it over with."

Haydon nodded. Then noticed something. "What? No Hades? I was getting used to that too... And I will."

Diana chuckled. "Well, it seems like your in your own personal hell right now... I didn't want to be reduntant."

He chuckled and gave the older girl another quick hug. "Thanks, Diana. I guess I just needed to talk about it."

Diana hugged him back. "Listen, Haydon, if your really desperate for money for your schooling..."

He shook his head. "I've got two part time jobs that should help... I mean, the stores that I work for during the summer always understanding and give me more than I actually earned. And one set up a Gringotts account in my name, not under my parents."

"You have your own account?" Diana said keeping note of it. "It's quite admirable that your working you know, I've never worked a day in my life." Diana chuckled.

"What do you do?"

Haydon shrugged. "It has less that a few Galleons in it, but it's fine. Really? I help out at St. Mungos during the summer and a shop in Diagon Alley when they need me."

Diana nodded. "Yeah, Nick and I were thinking of getting a summer job..."

Haydon nodded. "I find it to be a lot of fun, even if it is hard work."

Diana hugged herself and smiled. "Yeah, I think it would be."

Haydon grinned and said, "Thank you Diana. You helped more than you'll ever know..."

Diana smiled. "I'm glad I could help, Hades." She winked.

He sat back down. "I'll probably tell her sometime soon..."
