The lake and Mer-People

Casey held the jar of Illusion potion in her hand and approched the lake, she could see the mer people swiming around like sharks in the water glaring at her. Taking a deep breath and casting the bubble head charm on her self she jumped into the lake.

The Mer-people course had there tridents aimed at her, until she said in mermish.

"Stop!! I have your kings heart in this jar. I have come to bring it back to you" said Casey as she opened the jar and prayed to merlin they wouldn't see the difference.

There mer-people looked in the jar and the potion did its work. There saw exactly what they were told they would see.

"Now put is back" the leader of them all told her and pointed to a huge building made of coral, deep in the centre of the lake.

Casey nodded her head and dived deeper toward the temple.

There were two merman guards around the temple but they let her pass through, at the other end of the temple she saw the tomb of the newly dead king.

She swam over to it and attempted to opend the tomb to put the Heart back in the kings chest. Only to her surprise and emmence annoyence the tomb was made of silver, and it burned her hand.

"Just perfect......" Casey grumbled as she covered her hand with her robe and attempted to open it again.

This time she did it and saw the old dead mer-king inside with a gaping whole in his chest.

Placing the heart back in the kings chest was easy, but when she went to close the lid on his tomb she found it was stuck.

Dispite the burning of her hands Casey pulled the lid down with all her might. It was alittle to much might and the lid sudden snapped shut and a piece it broke off stabing her in the leg.

Screaming in pain she quickly pulled the piece if silver out.

"Ow!"

Swiming as fast as she could out of the water, she managed to reach land and pull her self up.

Her leg was bleeding freely and burned as if it was on fire, and it was spreading.

"Silver poisoning.... just great if I don't get to the hospital wing soon I'll be dead in the hour"

Biting her tongue against the pain, Casey got up and limped her way back to the Castle.

((continued from Entrance Hall... it is night))

Edwin made his way to the lake and waded into the dark black water. He played around in it for some time until he became sleepy. Getting out of the water, the boy fell asleep under a nearby tree.

((next morning...when he is being looked for))

Edwin awoke, worried when he saw grass and the lake instead of his warm crib and his mama. But the fear wore off quickly when he saw the water.
Jumping back into the water, he swam further out, until he could not feel the bottom with his bare feet.
Suddenly something slimy grabbed his ankle and he was dragged deeper into the water.
Edwin struggled for a brief time, before noticing that he could see mermaids, fish and finally a strange animal that was dragging him down into the water.

Eglantine arrived at the lake before Kiara, due to her having passed her. Her green eyes quickly scanned the still surface of the lake. Then she saw Edwin floating facedown in the water, his body limp.

An awful scream ripped from her body and she fainted, unable to handle the present situation mixed with her already fragile health.

Kiara eyes widened and all colour drained from her face when she arrived at the lake to see Eglantine scream and pass out.

"Eglantine?"

Then she looked over the water and saw Edwin.

"Damn it all...." she said before jumping into the lake

Swimming with only one arm and the water feeling like ice on her skin Kiara slowly made her way to Edwin.

"Please be alive, please be alive..." she chanted as she swam out.

Just as she reached Edwin's limp form and grabed onto him a harpoon came flying out of the lake and cut her in the side.

Grabing on to Edwin tightly she kicked as fast as she could to shore while keeping Edwins head above the water. She swallows alot of water herself and she just hoped the Merpeople didn't fire another harpoon.

Finally she got to land and she pushed Edwin on to shore.

"Come on kid breathe" she said still caughing up water herself.

Waving her hand she mutter a spell to force him to cough.

Edwin opened his eyes, wondering why the lady had dragged him from the water. He had been playing with Swe, the nice squid all morning and now suddenly as he was floating, he was being "saved".

"Stop!" Edwin shrieked, coughing due to the spell she had cast on him. "I wanna pway more."

"Oh for goodness sake..... hiccup" she was beyond relived he was alright, but he wanted to go back.

"Play time is over...."

She then muttered a revival spell on Eglantine, and covered up her bleeding side noy want Eglantine to know she risked life and limb for nothing. However she couldn't stop shivering.

Eglantine came to and weakly pulled Edwin into her arms.
"You are not suppose to leave the room alone." she admonished, smiling at Kiara. "We were so worried about you." Eglantine gently stroked her son's wet hair.

"Sowy." Edwin said, his voice slightly muffled. He was glad to be with his mama again, the water was nice, but he was cold now and tired of so much swimming.

Kiara retured her smile and muttered a dying spell on her clothing. Hoping I would warm her up.

Still shivering she stood up ignoring the stinging in her side, she would take care of it later.

"Come on lets go back.. hiccup... we will tell everyone we got him, he looks tired now any way"

Edwin yawned and pulled himself into his mama's lap, not seeing that the action caused her to close her eyes.

"Yes, Esis will be frantic." Eglantine agreed, turning to return to the castle.

"Yes lets go....hiccup" siad Kiara
