Hospital Wing

Mae giggled, and had to agree with Professor Viper. She smiled, looking towards Professor Viper, "May I?" She asked, as if she were a child, asking her mother if she could go across the street to play.

Eglantine held out her own goblet to Mae. "One sip only."

Viper stared at the sight. Even when she was a toddler, her grandfather allowed her her own goblet. "Now, there's no need to be cheap, Professor! It's not as though you're paying for the vodka! Let the girl drink from her own goblet!"

Mae smiled, "Can you turn it back for me Professor?" She asked Professor Viper, ignoring Professor DeLanquar's eyes on her.

Viper smirked triumphantly at Professor Delanquar before turning back to Mae. "Of course love," she waved her wand returning the girl's goblet to her. "Slowly though. It'll kill you otherwise since you're a virgin."

She rolled her eyes when she noticed the fuming look upon her rival's face.

"Drinker! A virgin drinker, Professor! Sweet Circe..." She muttered under her breath, drinking more.

Fear filled Kiara as she tried to explain.

"No you don't understand, Saturn is my Phoenix she is linked to me magically, meaning where ever I am she will be able to go. Including right through the wards of Hogwarts! unless she is being held in a magic stronger then my own. If Voldemort does have her he could figure out how to use her to teleport right in here."

Mae ignored Professor DeLanquar's expression, which she would bet, on all her money in Gringotts, was shocked, as she picked up her own goblet, which was about half-full, and in one gulp, drained half of it.

Hurt, Eglantine banished the cup that had been given to her and ignored both Professor Viper and Mae.

"I could take a message to the ministry for you, Headmistress. I am a cat animagus and it would be safer than an owl."

Viper choked on her vodka. "You're a cripple! Kiara, do you really want to put this news in the hands of someone who can barely stand without a stick to help her?"

Mae sighed, but had to agree with Professor Viper, although, she knew she had to stay somewhat on Professor DeLanquar's good side, in order to be able to visit Diana in Gryffindor Tower.

"I am much stronger in my animagus form." Eglantine combatted.

Mae sighed, apparently these two Professors, both whom she liked for various reasons, could never let it go for a second.

"What, are you able to use catnip as a crutch instead?" she asked, not trying to conceal her laughter.

Mae giggled, stepping backwards, and placing herself a bit behind the two professors, nearby the chair she had originally sat in.

Eglantine said nothing and waited for the Headmistress's verdict.

Viper looked at Mae, laughing silently. She wasn't sure if it was merely the vodka speaking but she decided she didn't despise the Ravenclaw.

Mae tried to ignore Professor Viper's gaze but within seconds, she smiled and took another sip of the vodka in her hand.

Kiara shock her head.

"It is very brave of you to offer Eglantine, but no I can't have you risk your like that"

Suddenly she remembered something she taught in Advanced Spells.

Turning to Eglantine with a smile on her face she said "I Have a much better Idea"

Pointing her wand in front of her she yelled

"Expecto Patronum!"

The Tiger jumped out of her wand and faced her.

"Go to the ministry of magic and tell them that Hogwarts is in serious danger, we need someone to reinforce the wards ASAP"

"You do know patronuses can be intercepted. Especially as Voldemort has your phoenix." Viper asked the Headmistress calmly.

Mae smiled and looked towards Professor DeLanquar, and sighing, she found Professor Viper was right - vodka really did help. And again, she took another sip, agreeing, once again, with the younger Professor.

Eglantine nodded, although hurt deeply by everything that had gone on in the past few minutes. Her life seemed to have been boiled down into one word...cripple. She was worthless, she thought, not letting it show on her face. And she had a Muggle Studies class to teach in five minutes...

Mae felt slightly sorry for Professor DeLanquar but shrugged it off, she understood that she was trying to help.

Viper downed the rest of her goblet in one gulp. "I'll go." she volunteered, standing up and brushing herself off.

Kiara shook her head.

"Patronuses are not physical creatures, so no spell can effect them, it is like trying to curse smoke, it will go right through. They can go right through anything. even solid walls. It is how the Order of the Phoenix used to communicate with each other.

Mae nodded, "Go idea Professor," she looked towards the Headmistress, "after all, even if the Patronus doesn't get intercepted then it's good to have a live person there to explain it all.
