Muggle Hospital

Located in worthing.

It's...a hospital.

MUGGLE hospital...so you will get looked at oddly if you have one of the following;

-A bird of any description on your arm
-A pointed hat
-A wand
-Clearly magical stuff of any description
-A llama.

Particularly the last one.

Ana arrived in a shaded area near the hospital entrance.

No one was around, and she turned to wait for Aiden.

Aiden popped in beside Ana and with a hand on her shoulder they moved for the entrance.

"Come on" he said quietly putting his wand away.

Ana nodded and let Aiden steer her to the entrance.

"...Reginald Vaight?" She asked the receptionist cautiously, unused to being in hospitals, especially not muggle hospitals.

"Third floor, D wing."

"..Thanks." Ana swallowed, hard. "This is so weird..." She muttered, heading in the direction of her injured father.

Aiden walked beside her and looked down making sure they would not get lost.

"Everything will be fine Ana" he said as he patted her shoulder in effort to comfort her, as he pushed to button on the elevator.

Ana sighed. "I...It's just...he never...Dad never gets ill...or hurt...Never..."

Ashamed, she attempted to wipe away tears forming in her eyes.

Aiden rubbed her shoulder and a part of her back with one hand and handed her a handkerchief with the other.

"Surprise.... your Dad is human after all" he said leading her inside the Elevator. "And don't worry, I will be here for you... No need to feel ashamed" he murmured.

Ana almost laughed, and accepted the offered hankerchief. "...Maybe he is."

She half-smiled. "Thanks...A lot." She was almost immeasurably grateful, but still couldn't help feeling a bit ashamed. She wasn't meant to get emotional...or at least not show that she was.

Aiden nodded "Don't mention it Ana, it is alright for you to express emotions you know, I don't think anything different of you. I promise" he said as Elevator door opened.

Ana blinked. "Really?" She didn't hide the surprise in her voice. That was not the reaction to emotions she was used to...from most peope anyway.

Aiden nodded in assurance, "Why so surprised? I am your friend aren't I?" he said while holding her hand.

"I admire you ability to suppress your emotions Ana.... heaven know I have been trying to do it for years with little success. But.... there are times when it is healthy to show emotions, like now for instance... I will never ever fault you for showing them... they are apart of you after all" he said with a nod.

Though he would have liked to have a word with whoever made Ana believe people would think less of her if she showed her felt any thing. It is just cruel.

Ana smiled slightly and gratefully squeezed Aiden's hand gently. "Thanks."

Cautiously, she allowed a few tears to fall down her face. Only a few. She didn't want to turn into an emotional mess...

There was a sharp ping as the lift reached it's destination and the doors slowly opened.

Aiden smiled, a small one but was glad he had helped nonetheless. "No problem... anytime for you"

He squeezed her hand gently back as the doors opened... They were almost there, he looked at Ana patting her hand with his other hand.

Ana inhaled sharply, blinking furiously as she stepped out of the lift, glancing around for some signpost.

There were about three different corridors to choose from. She sighed, partly with irritation and partly with fatigue. Something about muggle hospitals made her feel as though she'd just run a marathon...It was as though being around dying people sapped the life out her.

Dying people...Recuperating people...People being healed...Which category did her father fall into?

Aiden hummed and looked around, not really sure which area Ana's Father was in.

He looked to Ana it was obvious she getting tired and fustrated with the situation. He patted her shoulder, "Why don't we ask someone where he is?" he asked.

Ana nodded and glanced around for someone to ask.

"Excuse me...Do you know where Reginald Vaight is?"

The maternal-looking woman nodded. "Along at the end there. The first door after the red sign. It's got the name on the door."

"..Thanks."

Ana almost ran to the door, abruptly halting just outside as fear gripped her. She couldn't open the door...She just couldn't.

Aiden blinked as he neared Ana, he had to admit he was worried about her. But he wasn't sure what he could do.
He gently put his hand on her shoulder, " You alright?" he asked queitly.

Then he sighed, of course she wasn't her father was severly injured in a muggle hospital. But he wasn't sure what to say..

Ana didn't reply. ...No, she wanted to say. But she knew Aiden was trying to help.

She swallowed and opened the door.

Reginald was a mess of wires and strange muggle machinery. His wand lay disregarded on one cabinet next to him. The muggles had already given up, apparently. Ana paused in the doorway, Reginald's eyes were shut, and his expression was blank, but not peaceful.

Until his ears detected the entry of a person. His eyes opened, and he noticed his daughter, and that boy...Aiden?

"Dad?"

A faint smile twitched on his face. "Ana."

"What happened?!"

"It hardly matters." Reginald displayed no signs of pain on his face, even though he felt the urge to wince.

Ana swallowed. "Are you going to be o-"

Reginald interrupted. "Aiden isn't it?" He wasn't going to answer that question. And if he heard it one more time, he might have to dig out his wand and go on a rampage. Speaking of which...Where was his wand?

Aiden stood beside Ana and gave her hand a discrete squeeze before nodding to Mr. Vaight.

"Yes sir, I was with Ana when she was told the news, I came along" he said. He didn't offer to leave them be alone. Only if Ana asked for him to step out, after all he was here for moral support for Ana not her father. And he turely wouldn't mind if Ana asked him to leave, this was a family matter after all.

He let a thought drift to Ana's mind.

"If you wish to be alone with him don't hesitate to say so, okay? I will stay with you until you say otherwise..."

Reginald nodded weakly. "And Darien?"

Ana suppressed the faint shudder in her voice. "He-He's gone to get you transferred Dad."

Her father barked briefly with faint laughter. "Excellent. The standards of care in this hospital are appauling."

Thanks...But I don't really want to be alone with him like this... Ana thought back, with a sigh. She felt drained of energy, doubtless a side effect of being surrounded by sick individuals.

Reginald raised his head slightly and winced. "Where've the muggles put my wand?"

Ana glanced around, searching for any sign of it. She hoped they hadn't destroyed it...

"Very well.." Aiden thought to her wanting to put his arm around her, feeling she was tired, but thought better of it know that they were with her father right across from them. Still he did give her hand another discreet squeese for comfort.

Aiden looked around for a wand, know a average muggle doctor would know what to do with one....

"Hmm... Ana over there" he said as he pointed to a cabnet beside Mr. Vaight.

"Thanks." Ana smiled briefly, passing the wand across to her father.

Reginald studied it for a while, twirling it over between his fingers. With a sigh, he pointed it at his right arm, but thought better of it. His mind kept flickering into pain and his concentration was almost non-existant.

Pain shot up his bent, crushed and singed left leg, and he cursed Muggle medicines.

"These muggles are truly useless." He muttered. "Their pain relief is mediocre at best, and they treat even the slightest hint of abnormality with grave suspicion."

Ana was unsure what to say, and simply watched in silence as Reginald's eyes slipped shut again, a slight frown of pain to be seen between his eyes.

Aiden almost couldn't help him self from rolling his eyes at the Vaight head, the least he could do is stop whinning for Ana's sake. She was already up set enough as it was without him complaining about Muggles..

Wasn't the muggles fault he somehow managed to get ranover by a buss in a muggle street. He his a wizard after all.. he should have been able to prevent it.
However.. for Ana he managed to prevent himself form showing his irritation.

He then thought over to Ana, trying to be comforting "I think he will be fine Ana, Anyone who can complain this much must surely be alright later"

Ana felt a twinge of amusement. I hope so...Even though he's being a bit of a..git really.

"Darien's going to transfer you Dad, just give him some time." She told her 'sleeping' father.

Reginald gave a brief bark of laughter, followed by a coughing fit. "Why do I feel not overly reassured by that?"

Aiden had to bit his tongue from saying anything, really here Ana was worried sick about her father, and her father was being a total GIT about it.

At this point he didn't care about Ana's father seeing him, he put is hand on Ana's shoulder and gave a slight squeeze.

"If I may sir, transfers take time and paper work, you will be transfered" he said throughly having enough of his whining.. it was unbecoming of full grown man.

Reginald sighed. "Perhaps."

He noted the hand on Ana's shoulder and raised his eyebrow slightly.

Ana considered giving him a glare, but decided against it.

The awkward silence was broken by another coughing fit of Reginald's, and Ana winced. "Should I get someone Dad?"

"No." Reginald continued to cough.
