Kiara frowned when Eglantine said she was afraid, There was more wrong then she was letting on.

She wasn't sure how to help, she couldn't resure her as she had no clue as to what was going on.

"Why wasn't he afraid? would he normaly have been, why did he wait till now to tell you he was alive?"

Eglantine closed her eyes. "He is on the list, Kiara. He should have been afraid of being caught...especially with me. But he wasn't. That means he may have joined Charles..."

Now it was starting to make some sence, and she felt scared for Eglantine now as well, If her father had sided with Charles, that could be horrible, and her father was not bound by the oath made by Charles son to not harm her.

"Would he really join Charles? would Charles allow the kinda of thing ally with the people he wants to kill?"

"Oh Eglantine..... is there anything I can help with? do anything?" she asked as she worried for her adopted mother.

She would anything to protect her, even against her own father.

"Only with plans to overthrow him." Eglantine muttered. "My father is a dark wizard, Kiara. His power is great and more dangerously it is hidden. Cedwyn Rosier could very well be more powerful that Voldemort ever was. He has had all the years to perfect and expand his power. Charles would be a fool to not desire his assistance...and my brother-in-law is no fool."

Kiara nodded, not at all surprised, though the inner working of homicdal manic's made no sense to her.

So this turned even more deadly then is already was, Charles had potentaily gained a powerful ally, with massive amounts of power and years of knowledge in the dark arts.

This had scared Eglantine, and Eglantine was someone not easily scared by someone. So naturally this worried her very much.

"Are you going to tell Horatio?" she asked looking into the fire, attempting to use it warmth to remain calm and processe what Eglantine was saying.

Eglantine looked over at the wall and then back to Kiara, sighing deeply. She conjured a blanket and gently wrapped it around her still trembling body. Oh how she wanted to tell Horatio... he had after all been close friends with her father, before the man had revealed his true nature. But Eglantine remembered his reaction to Viva Gero...and disliked the conjured image of what his reaction might be to her telling him what she had just told Kiara...

Kiara sighed and wraped an arm around Eglantine shoulder again, lending her more warmth.

"I take that is a no" she whispered.

Truthfully she worried about Horatio's reaction her self, knowing a little of the past between Horatio and Eglantine father he would not take it well, but she could not see him being angry at Eglantine over this.

It saddend her really, Eglantine probably really needed Horatio at the moment, yet she was reluctant to tell him. It almost brought tears to her eyes.

"So what do we do about this then? What did your father say when you saw him?"

"I told him I was glad to see him...and that it wasn't safe for him to be with me." she muttered. "That was when he assured me he wasn't worried. Not my his words, but by his demeanor. My father is a honest man, Kiara. If nothing else, he is honest. If he is not worried, he will say so with no fault about who knows."

She rubbed her hands together slowly. "He will need to be dealt with... permanently." she mused aloud.

Kiara stared at Eglantine in shock, perminately? This wasn't the first plan to kill a dangerous wizard she had been apart of. But this was Eglantine talking about killing her own father.

"You mean kill him?"

Ah here was the part Horatio wouldn't like.

She had the sneaking suspition Excessum would have to be used, but then again she had been wrong before, perhpas she wouldn't.... but yet she could see there may be little choice.

And that thought was frightening in its self.

It took a great deal of Eglantine's self control to keep from cursing as shock came over Kiara's face. Surely she, of all people, knew how it felt to be faced with having to harm a loved one. But then again, a father and an ex-husband bent on killing you were two different things.

"Yes...unless you know of any other way to permanently deal with someone?" she smiled softly, patting Kiara's knee. "I would be the only one he would trust not to do it... Excessum runs the risk of seeing him as a partial master... a different method will have to be used."

Kiara sighed "Sorry that was just unexpected, that was why I was shocked" she said as she looked at her sadly.

"I wish you didn't have to Eglantine, I would fight by your side if you let me...." she let it drop. Eglantine would likely stun her and leave her in the castle if she tried.

But if Eglantines father was a powerful as she claimed she could get seriously hurt as well and she couldn't let that happen. Eglantine has already been through so much.

" I don't like this one bit Eglantine, if he has sided with Charles, he could kill you"

"He could...many have attempted before him." she stated, her voice level. "And I still surprisingly live... Fate has allowed me to live this long."

Her green eyes looked directly at Kiara. "But then again, my dear. You yourself are not stranger to death." she reminded softly.

Kiara closed her eyes and nodded, no she wasn't, she knew death like an old relitive, in side and out.

"Death is something I would rather not deal with if I didn't have to, but... let me go with you." she said.

If she could turn things slightly more in Eglantines favor to coming out of it alive she would.

"Please"

Eglantine was silent for a moment, before levitating to her "feet". "No, Kiara. Too many things and people rely on you. If anything does happen to me...I need you to be here." And there were so any more reasons...but Eglantine dared not bring them up.

"But Eglantine people rely on you to, you have Edwin, Horatio, me you are needed to.If something Happend to you Horatio would never forgive me, I couldn't either...." Kiara looked down.

"Do you really have to do this by your self"

For a moment she comtemplated telling Horatio, but she could bare it if he got hurt as well. If he did Eglantine would never forgive her either.

"I need to do this, Kiara." she murmured. "It must be done. I have you and Horatio to care for Edwin should anything happen to me...and Ciaran to care for you. Horatio will cope. I am hardly the first woman he has loved." Sighing she pulled Excessum from her pocket. Her fingers stroked the runes carved into the stained wood and small sparks attacked her fingers.

"If it makes you feel better, I will be very careful."

Kiara shook her head "It will not make me worry any less Eglantine, how can you expect me to let you go and try to kill your own father, who could just as easily kill you? Please Eglantine, I beg you to reconcider let me go with you, he won't even see me, I promise I will only interfer if you actually need help. He won't be explecting me to be there. Please"

When she saw Excessum she asked "I thought you were going to used a different method?"

Eglantine shook her head. "No." and she went silent. Excessum slipped back into her pocket and she made her way to the door.

"He could see you, Kiara... as he will see me when I arrive. It is best this way." she muttered. "Trust me."

Kiara sighed in fustration, " At least wear the shawl I made for you.... It has more then just simple warming spells on it" she said though her voice it was clear she was none to happy.

However her mind was already trying to work out a way to highten Eglantines chances of survival. Her nic name at the Auror depertment hadn't been Dark for nothing.

"I trust you Eglantine, but I don't trust your father, I am allowed to fear for you can't I?

Kiara watched out her window when the wards around the entrance went off.... and her heart skipped a beat.

Eglantine had made her move....

"Good luck Eglantine"

Heaven knows she wouldn't stop worrying until Eglantine came back unharmed.

Kiara leivitated Eglantine onto a transfigured bed and made sure she was comfortable. She sommoned a healing salve from a shelf and applied it to the burise on Eglantines forehead.

Moveing her hair out of her face she waved her hand checking again to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong.

Eglantine's conscious fought with the words her father had somehow enchanted to penetrate her mind's defenses. Finally she was forced to reach out for Excessum with her mind, drawing strength and power from it.

Her eyes flittered open and she gasped softly. "I am alright now, Kiara." she murmured, assuring her daughter before she was even certain of the fact herself. Nothing else mattered in that brief moment.

Kiara shock her head, "So you say that now..... but Eglantine you don't seem fine, you passed out cold I want to make sure you are alright. Now I will call Horatio of you want me to, or I won't if you don't. That is up to you, either way, I am staying with you tonight. You can protest you are fine till the cows come home. it isn't working to night." she whispered.

Eglantine nodded silently. "He... attacked me. Mentally, as I killed him." she confessed.

Kiara looked at Eglantine sadly, mental attacts could be worse the physical, as the took longer to heal, and could go unseen.

"I am sorry Eglantine.... I wish you had let me come with you..... I wish I had gone anyway" she said quietly.

"If there is anything I can do...." she as said leaving the question opened and holding on to her hand.
