Kiara sighed "Comes with the job Horatio....plus a few other things that needs to be done" she said.

Looking at Eglantine's sleeping form she sighed again research for the Excessum wand and how to break the link with it to her was going very slow, despite the hours she had spent looking in her library.

Bitting her lip she wondered if Eglantine would be mad if she told Horatio about it, if only to help them find a way, or even a chance.

"Did you catch what she said?" Kiara asked softly her eyes still on the older women.

"She was muttering in German mostly..." Horatio replied, glancing away. He didn't really want Kiara to know that he had attempted with great care to understand and hear what Eglantine had mumbled...

Kiara shook her head and looked at Eglantine again, Horatio could be a enormous help in look he may even know some thing they didn't. He would also help take the burden off Eglantine.... at least she hoped.

"I am sorry Eglantine I have to tell him...I know you won't" Kiara thought sadly.

Tearing her gaze off Eglantine she turned to Horatio, her mind made up. Casting a silencing charm so not to wake Eglantine she said.

"She will undoubtedly be angry with me for telling you, but may be of great help to her, more then you already have, so I don't care if she hates me for it... Has she told you anything about Excessum?" she asked seriously.

Horatio's head whipped around. "Death? Why would Eglantine tell me anything about death?" he had a terrible feeling about what Kiara's answer might be.

Kiara sighed... she had told him nothing. "Just great"

"It's.. well.. complicated Horatio don't think anything less of her please, I am not a expert on myself like Eglantine I only know what she has told me, there is no telling what else there is that she has kept to her self.. It used to be a potion, created by Eglantine, when used it either kills the drinker, or gives them immortality and they are eternally bonded to Eglantine, they become a part of her...." Kiara sighed here came the ringer.

"A few months ago Voldemort got his hands on Excessum and it granted him immortality, linking his soul to Eglantine. Later on Eglantine was able to alter the bond and alter Voldemort.. seemingly killing him. But not so, the evil parts of Voldemorts soul rested them its self in Eglantine's mind and created a evil part of her....That took over her some times. Her name was Cerise and possessed the killing power of Excessum " she said sadly as she remembered the horrible things Cerise had made Eglantine do and say.

"To make a long to story short, Eglantine killed that part of her but apparently the Excessum was turned in to a wand, it has the last remnants of Cerise and had the killing power of Excessum. It is a dangerous wand I don't know what will happen should it be used, but it is bonded to Eglantine to much, if even can destroy it we will kill her... We have been trying to find away to disconnect it from her with little luck. To worry her even more, the wand wants her as it master. That maybe what has her stressed.."

Kiara finished with her explanation and looked at Horatio for his reaction.

Horatio's face darkened, and he sat heavily in his seat. "My experiment..." he muttered. "She lied when she said she destroyed it all and that she had never used it. Her father must have given her the healing elixir...and she altered it with...with blood soul and bonded it with sprits." He looked up at Kiara.

"Voldemort?" he repeated as if unbelieving. "So she has delved deeply into the dark arts...much deeper than I or my colleagues ever dared to venture." He patted the seat beside him.
"You were right to tell me, thank you Kiara." His eyes no longer shone with joy and his entire being seemed older and more careworn.

Kiara's eyes widened "Please don't be mad at her, she didn't do it out if evil Horatio, please... it was intended for Voldemort to be killed by it not revive him..."

Kiara paused hoping her next works would spare Eglantine unneeded pain.

"It was I who brought it to him in the first place" she said as her eyes darkened.

Horatio shook his head. "No one delves into the dark arts who is pure of heart and mind, Kiara. The Rosiers are as evil as families come... I should have known."

His eyes widened. "You took Voldemort Excessum? Why?"

"Does that make me evil Horatio? just because someone delved into dark arts? Then none of us are innocent in your eyes? I must be the most evil of all of them then as far as evil families go, Voldemort was my cousin after all. And Eglantine is not evil, she nearly killed her self to prevent Voldemort and Cerise form doing anymore harm. And she saved my life more times then I can count."

Kiara's eyes filled with tears.

"Don't you dare judge her just because of Excessum and her family Horatio I won't let you. You say you love her, show a little faith in her.... she loves you, don't break her heart, please"

More tears spill down her face

"Voldemort kidnapped a student and held her in exchange for the Excessum, Eglantine would have done it but I volunteered, they injured her I couldn't let her go. So I did it in hope it would kill him. She didn't even want to give it to him" she said.

Horatio turned to face Kiara, his features softening. "I didn't mean it like that, my dear." he stated, wiping the tears from her face. "Not at all like that. I've delved into the dark arts as well and I just...tried so hard to put it aside... now to find out that." he trailed off.

He held out an arm to Kiara. "I'm so sorry... I never meant to accuse you."

Kiara looked down "I know, I just wanted to prove a point."

Wiping the rest of her tears away. "And I am sorry if that isn't want you meant, it sounded rather bad and it struck a cord, the rather protective one of Eglantine, I won't let anyone speak badly of her"

"The reason I told you wasn't to bring up bad memories, I did it just to help her, I was wondering if you come help me with the research to disconnect her from the wand in a way that won't kill her"

Horatio nodded. "I understand, you'd think that after 150 years I'd know how to speak what I wish to say." He looked back at the couch.
"So much suffering...for you and her. Yes, I will help you with the research... I did help create it after all. But Kiara, the most important thing about bonds is this simple fact... it is always mutual with spirits...always."

Kiara nodded "I am aware of that I know what I ask is supposed to be magically impossible, but..."

Kiara paused and glanced at Eglantine's form again, her blue fire momentarily glowing. (This blue glow symbolizes something else entirely to Kiara ploting future loophole )

"I have found that magic can and will break its own rules, there has to be a loop hole somewhere... we just have to figure out what it is. When Eglantine killed Cerise she said it was impossible to kill her without dieing her self, but the spirits let her live despite what the rules or the normal laws of magic said"

Horatio sighed deeply, "I was afraid you would say that my dear." He opened his mouth to continue, but was cut off as Eglantine groaned. Labouring to sit up, the Transfigurations professor's eyes went wide.

"Edwin!" she muttered. Horatio chuckled.
"No need to worry, he's tucked safe and sound into his bed. I went to get him after you fell asleep." Eglantine nodded.

"Kiara, are you feeling better?" she asked, still blinking the sleep from her eyes.

Kiara nodded and smiled, wiping all traces of the somber conversation off her face.

"Yes Eglantine much better, thank you, best night of sleep I have had in a while... What about you? Did you sleep well enough last night? I still can't believe you two slept over, you didn't have to" she said lightly.

"Of course we did." Eglantine returned, sitting up. Horatio offered her his arm, but she ignored it. "You were badly injured."

Sighing and shaking her head she muttered "It looked worse then it was.... but for what is worth I thank you, no one has ever done that for me before. Probably why I am such a difficult patient..."

"Oh I and before I forget Sevastyan wants to throw a surprise party for Viper next month on the 17th, me and Sevastyan are rather cluless when it comes to planing parties. So if you have anything to add or ideas feel free" she said changing the subject to something more cheerfull.

Horatio perked up, "A Party!! Sounds wonderful. I'll be glad to help." Eglantine nodded, still carefully watching Kiara, as if she might keel over at any given moment.
"Yes, that sounds nice."

Kiara nodded smiling "Yeah we think it should be a small party, as we don't know any firends or anything outside Hogwarts, so it will be a staff only party. Sevastyan said he will keep her busy and all that so we can set everthing up without her niticeing hopfully. In the room of requierment alright?" she said quickly.

"Anyway i should really start getting back to work, papers won't finish them selves'

She said as she inched toward the door.

Eglantine used a bit of wandless magic to levitate Kiara, gently, back to her chair.
"We completed a good deal of your paperwork for you." Horatio put in, chuckling. "So you might as well give in to us... you are going no where, child."

Eglantine smiled softly. "Breakfast?"

Kiara stared at Eglantine and Horatio all the will thinking "Child? In am 30 not 3"

"I was going to eat in the great hall you know" she said hiding her annoyance at being treated like a infant. Although she was relived not have as much left to do offically she still had Calista's cast solify.

"But it is already prepared." Eglantine protested, obviously Horatio and she had planned it...
A table slid in from behind the couch laden with several breakfast delicacies.
"Juice?" Horatio asked, picking up the pitcher and hovering it over the three glasses.

Kiara sighed in defeat "Fine have it your way then"

Though she couldn't stop a smile from forming her her face, this was different to say the least.

And she couldn't say it was in welcome to have breakfast with two people who were the closest thing to familly she had.

"This seems like a little more then making sure I eat properly.... What is this about?" she asked curiously.

Horatio shared a brief glance with Eglantine before he leaned back in his chair. He had filled his plate with at least one of everything.
"Well, um... you see..." he sipped his hot chocolate. "I...Eglantine?" he finally gave up. She sighed.

"If you are willing, I would like to make my heir. Formerly my eldest nephew, Erin, was my heir... but as you know he is... no longer living."

Kiara blinked in surprise, she had not be expecting that.

"Oh wow, I.... Eglantine I don't know what to say... are you sure? that would technically make me your...."

Kiara swallowed as she felt her heart speed up, did she understand, her right?

" That would legaly make your daughter.... wouldn't it? What about Edwin, he is your son" she said wide eyed with shock and not knowing what to feel right now or say.
