Viper clapped her hands twice. "Tibby!" she called out, hoping that the elf stopped playing hide and seek.

With a pop, a young, tiny house-elf nervously approached Viper, appearing to be on the verge of tears. "M-Madame, you be needing me?"

Viper nodded. "Yes, I was hoping you would be able to assist Professor Delanquar. She is very tired and her child is in need of a sitter."

Immediately, the elf's attitude went ninety degrees, her face brightening like the sun. "Oh yes Mistress Viper! Tibby is most happy to assist! Thank you thank you!""

Kiara smiled at the House elf and looked over at Eglantine and Viper

"I will retire as well then, good night"

Eglantine offered a small smile to the house elf and gestured toward the boy, laying asleep in the crib. "Please watch him while I sleep." she said softly. Then turning back to Kiara, she nodded. "Good night."

((Kiara went back to her Quarters))

((I am assuming that Viper left...))

Eglantine waited until the house-elf took into account that she would be watching the child, before heading into her bedroom. She did not shut the door fully, leaving it open a crack.

Within moments, she had fallen asleep in the centre of her bed.

Eglantine awoke to hear screaming and laid wondering on her bed. Finally the events of the day before came together in her mind and she groaned softly as she climbed out of the bed.
The house-elf, Tibby, was attempting to soothe an angry child who refused to eat some orange substance. As Eglantine entered the room, he screamed louder and stretched his arms out for her to pick him up.
"He and been crying for long long time, Professor." Tibby yawned, twisting one of her ears into her hands. Eglantine nodded almost in a trance and took the seat that Tibby pushed up in front of the crib.
"Hush." She comforted, patting the child's back. He stopped screaming, but tears still poured down his rosy cheeks. "You need to stop crying, love. I'm too tired to deal with this." Of course the baby did not understand her, but it helped to talk to him. He smiled a rather pathetic hold-me-if-you-really-love-me smile and held his arms out.
This time Eglantine could not refuse him and she shakily lifted him up and out of the crib and onto her lap.
He was a solid boy, obviously well-fed and big-boned, but he simply melted against her and she ignored how heavy he was.
"What shall we call you?" Eglantine whispered, rubbing his back in slow soft circles. "You need a name.
"Tibby knows names!" the house-elf chirped. Eglantine nodded absently.
"Kevin is Irish. it means beautiful..." She looked at Tibby who wrinkled her nose.
"Bad name." she said shaking her head. Eglantine sighed. Why was she looking to a house-elf for help?
"Calder is Scottish. From the rushing water." Tibby shook her head again.
"Edwin is English. Prosperous friend." Tibby nodded her head vigorously.
"Tibby likes!" she cooed. Eglantine smiled.

"Edwin Richard DeLanquar." she whispered, kissing the top of his head. Edwin giggled as Tibby tickled his belly and Eglantine laughed softly with him.

Juria calmly walked to the door of Professor DeLanquar's and knocked twice.

"Hello Professor?" She asked then waited for a response

Eglantine froze as she heard a knock on the door. Casting a quick glamour on Edwin, so that he was blonde and green eyed, she turned to the door.
"Come in." Tibby hurried past her and opened the door, revealing a tall woman behind it.

Juria smiled at the professor and the house-elf and said in a friendly way

"Hello professor, i wanted to meet you as soon as possible. My name is Juria and im the new school healer, also if you need a fill in for a class i can be it."

Juria noticed the boy and smiled, then said

"Hes very cute"

Eglantine stared at the woman. She seemed friendly.
"Professor DeLanquar. A pleasure to meet you." Looking down at Edwin, she sighed. "Thank you."

She hoped that Juria would ignore her rumpled robes, messy hair and obviously tired frame of mind.

Juria saw the Professor's state but didnt say anything about it, she did wish that the Professor would see her as a friend and ask for help if needed. Juria wished she could stay longer but remembered what she was doing in that day and stated to the obviously tired Professor,

"Thank you Professor, i hope to see you again soon, i must meet the other Professors and introduce myself. I will see you later."

With that the woman smiled and left the chambers to go through the schools that she once was able to learn in and now work in.

Eglantine nodded and hoped she had no offended Juria in any way. Sighing, she set Edwin back in his crib and began to prepare herself for the day. Unexpectedly, Tibby was most helpful.
Besides, handing Edwin several of the toys Eglantine had transfigured for him, Tibby helped Eglantine pin up her hair, which she had a terrible time doing thanks to her shaking hands.
The style was slightly more elaborate than Eglantine was accustomed to, but she was too tired to care. After slipping into her white robes and accioing her cane, which flew to her from the Library, Eglantine hefted Edwin up into her arms and told Tibby to wait for her to return.
Carrying Edwin took more of her strength than she would like, but after several attempts, she finally positioned him where she could balance him. She shrunk her cane and slipped it into her pocket and then made her way from her chambers.

Tibby wrung her hands as she waited for Professor DeLanquar to return. It wasn't like her to leave Edwin alone for so long. She had been gone since before breakfast and Tibby was worried about her.
Edwin was happy. A few toys and a bottle of juice had been all he needed to distract him from his missing mother. But Tibby knew sooner or later he would start screaming for her.
"Mama!" Tibby almost groaned. Edwin had stood up in his play pen and now stared about him as if looking for a hidden object.
"Mama!" His voice was high with baby alarm. Tibby hurried over to him and handed him the bottle he had thrown. He dropped it again, his green eyes wide with puzzlement. "Where Mama?" he questioned. Tibby grabbed one of her ears to help her think.
She had no idea where Professor DeLanquar was... what a name, she thought. DeLanquar, took a lot of time and effort to say. Edwin's mama was easier, but the professor didn't seem to like to be referred to by it...

"Come Edwe." Tibby assured the child, lifting him out of the play pen. She would take him to Miss Viper... as mean as she was, Viper would know where to find Edwin's mama.

((Continued from Viper's chambers)) ((several hours after infirmary time))

Eglantine returned to her rooms, carrying her sleeping son. After tucking him into his crib next to her bed, she quickly changed out of her bloody robes and slipped her dressing gown over her under-robes. Picking a brush up from the vanity, she returned to the sitting room.
Tibby had fallen asleep on the couch and Eglantine levitated the creature into the bedroom so that she could be alone for a moment.
Seating herself on the couch, she began to brush her hair.
Eglantine had always been a fair woman. Not ravishingly beautiful or uniquely stunning. Her finger's shakingly traced the grey in her blonde hair and she sighed looking into the fire.

Kiara walked up to Eglantines quarters, it had been several hours since Eglantine had nearly giver her another heart attack in the hospital wing and she want to see how Eglantine was fairing.

Looking up at the portrait that guarded Eglantine's rooms she asked.

"Could you inform Professor DeLanquar I am here for a visit, if she wouldn't mind a Visiter that is"

The dancing nymph giggled before spewing some lilting phrase in Gaelic. The door opened and Eglantine turned from her seat on the couch.

"Do come in." she said, softly. The nymph instantly sobered at the sight of her mistress and stopped whirling about the frame.

Kiara walked inside,

"Good evening, I just wanted to check in on you. After what happened in the hospital wing you left me a little worried"

"Ah, that." Eglantine paled slightly. "I feel much better, I assure you." she offered Kiara a small smile. "Please sit down." she gestured toward the chair across from the couch.
Adoration was curled into a ball in front of the fire and looked up at the woman before sneezing and returning to her nap.

Kiara sat in the chair and smiled as the heat from the fire reached her skin. Because of the slight over use of wandless magic it left her feeling slightly cold, so it felt good to get some warmth.

"Good,.. anyway I haven't really asked you how teaching is going, is muggle studies any better with some students?"

"My classes are going well. Both Transfigurations and Muggle Studies... I believe my students are finally beginning to accept that muggles need to be understood." Eglantine continued to brush her hair before setting the silver brush down on the couch. "How is your class? Defense against the Dark Arts..."

Adoration meowed and leapt up onto the couch, rubbing her head against Eglantine's arm.

Kiara smiled and said.

"Pretty welll I think, the students aer more interested since the duel with Viper though"

Kiara ckucked at the cat

"Cute cat"

"I can imagine...It was a very interesting duel." Eglantine nodded. "Thank you, she was formerly my only companion."

Eglantine accioed a white shawl from her desk and wrapped it around her. "Now that my brother and his family have moved to Germany, Bella is no longer here to challenge my teaching on muggles. That is the real reason for my student's revived interest."

Kiara smiled, "I see, I am glad then, you seemed pretty put down that some students weren't enjoying your class"

Then she closed her eyes and sighed for a moment.

"You it is ironic, when I was offered this job I was told by the school govenors, that compared to being a auror captian, headmistress of would be easier"

Looking down at her self, with her arm in a sling and her magic begging for a wand, she shock her head.

"I don't know what they were smoking, but this is anything but easier. I don't think I have been through so many scares before, you, Viper even some of the students have nearly givin me a heart attack" she paused almost seeing the look on Eglantines face, and smiled.

"But I wouldn't change it for the world, I love it here .... exept perhaps the issue with the merpeople, them I could do without"
