Ethan Addams's Personal Chambers, Laboratory, Office, & Writing Retreat (located near Ravenclaw Tower)

Ethan's personal chambers are modeled to look very much like his home, only with some very distinct differences. Of a spacious nearly-squared first floor, slightly more than half is devoted to living, cooking, and eating space, with a spiral staircase toward the back on the right-hand side.

A vast garden instead of a library that is magically fenced-off is located to one's immediate left as they enter Ethan's chambers. (image coming soon)

Beyond the indoor gardens is Ethan's combination Library/Laboratory, which was formerly a kind of office or study-type room. (Images coming soon)

Going up the spiral staircase, and subsequently up the spire, one will find a loft. To the immediate left from coming off the stairs is a luxurious bedroom with bathroom, while to the right is what Ethan considers his Writing Retreat. A desk, work table, corner shelves, and an easy chair line that side of the room.

Ethan is fond of earthy colors and abstract angles, and a rustic yet modern-y quality. A railing adds decor to the loft. The wizard is by no means afraid of heights. So don't be surprised if you're allowed entry and find he's up there, leaning over the rail and watching you. He likes to do that for some strange reason.


The entryway to his quarters is dominated by a portrait of a beautiful mermaid combing out her hair long, strawberry-hued hair.

Only the staff are given a kind of automatic password he uses to get into his quarters: Heatherica ((Heather + Erica)).

His Ravenclaw Students are generally asked a series of three questions before being allowed to enter unless it is an emergency.

Horatio was in a rather somber mood as he approached his colleague's chamber door. He smiled briefly at the mermaid and bowed as was his usual custom.
"Is Professor Addama in, my dear?" he asked.

The mermaid paused from her task to survey the new arrival. She looked thoughtful for a moment. "Tending to the water lillies in the indoor gardens," she replied musically. "Yes. You wish to speak with him? Colleague, yes?" Greenish-blue eyes blinked up at the wizard with curiosity.

Horatio nodded. "Yes, my dear. I am Professor McKevin, a colleague. Would you ask him if he has the time to chat for a little while?"

The mermaid smiled a small smile. "He always has time to chat... if not to others then to himself," she replied with a slight laugh before jumping into the seascape around her. "He would enjoy the company. Once in the gardens, follow the blue stones on the path, until you see a pond-sized fountain."

And with that the portrait swung forward to admit the Professor without further question.

Horatio entered the rooms, his eyebrows raising at the impressive display of landscaping. He followed the path into the gardens and then the blue stones until he came to the fountain.

"Ethan!" he called, pulling his pipe from his pocket. "Would you permit a word or two?"

Ethan looked up from the water lily he was observing at the sound of a voice that wasn't his own. What was a smile on his face split into a grin. "Horatio," Ethan replied congenially. "Certainly, mate! Was just finishing up here and about to take a little break. Please, make yourself to home!"

The blond wizard gestured to an ornate stone bench that could seat up to three, waiting for his guest to take a seat first. Like almost every bit of magical furniture, the bench was enhanced with an invisible, charmed cushion and was far more comfortable than the muggle variety.

Horatio took a seat on the bench, sighing when he was comfortable. "Glad to hear I didn't interrupt anything." he muttered. "Ethan, you've been married, haven't you? Perhaps you know something about the opposite gender that I can't seem to grasp."

Ethan nodded and took a seat on the opposite end of the bench crossing his legs in a meditative position. The bench clearly magicked some extra length for him to be able to do this. "Aye, that I have," he replied, smiling cheerfully before adding, "Married and... divorced, as it were." The smile fell, plummeting like a rock thrown into water.

"I will certainly try my best at it. What's your query, my good man?" Unconsciously, Ethan's hand sunk into the pocket of his robes for his herbal cigarettes.

Horatio's pipe soon found its way to his mouth and he sighed. "Eglantine will not argue with me. Whenever we discuss anything, she either goes quiet or agrees with me. Aren't women suppose to sink their teeth into the argument and force you to agree with them?"

Ethan couldn't help the smile that was curling his lips. "From my experience with Laura... I'd say yes: that is usually the way of things. But, different strokes for different folks, they say. Perhaps your sheila is the agreeable sort?" he offered. The blond wizard had yet to really get to know the witch whom Horatio was referring to.

Horatio sighed. "I suppose. But I want to hear her opinion. Not have her agree with me or suddenly loose her ability to speak whenever we discuss anything. It makes me feel as if I'm being oppressive..."

"Hmm..." Ethan nodded, an herbal cigarette finding its way to his mouth not unlike Horatio's pipe and done with its own owner. "Have you tried simply asking her for her opinions on the matter?" he asked. "Expressed how much her -individual- thoughts matter to you, whether you both see eye to eye or not?"

Horatio nodded. "I have, I have and she brushes me aside. As if she either doesn't believe me or she's too preoccupied to really care. Honestly, I sometimes feel as if the affection we have for each other only goes one way..."
