McConn House September 8th 2024 (fixed future)

((Day before Edan's 4th birthday))

Kiara sat in bed, her back leaning against a mound of pillows, her obviously pregnant belly could be seen from underneath the covers, she was just entering the 7th month mark, the up coming due date mere months away.

She was not wearing her oxygen mask, as she didn't need it, full moon had come and gone and her lungs were working just fine with out it. She was just resting up a lot today so she could spend some time out of bed with her family tomorrow for Edan's 4th birthday party. She had no intention of missing a second of it.

She was currently reading a relaxing book.

When she let out a surprised "Oh!" and her hand went to her round belly, It wasn't out of pain how ever, not quiet the opposite... the baby inside her was kicking up a storm, and most of the time it cause excitement to bubble inside her.

"You have a lot of energy today little one" she said softly with a laugh, rubbing to area the child had kicked.

So far the pregnancy had been going well, there was a incident with false labour last mouth, which put quite bit of a scare in her, she had been so terrified they would loose this baby to, despite all the precautions she took.It had been a scary few hours to say the least, until the false labour pains stopped. Other then that however things were fine, she more or less slept through full moon, the oxygen mask did wonders. Ciaran was of course wonderful, as well was Tav, she would not be able to do this without either of them. She couldn't have been more proud of both of them, for how well they handled things.

Edan was bored... his papa was busy making the meal and Tav was playing with Rossa. He thought about joining them, but Rossa only gurgled and cried. Drool and screams weren't what he wanted to play with...
Finally he decided a visit to his mama was long over due and slipped into the room, padding over to the large bed. Climbing up, he sat down and stared at her.
"Hello Mama!" he said cheerfully. "Is the baby good?"

Kiara smiled at her soon to be four year old.

"Why hello there my little fire" she said as she kissed him on the forehead.

"Yes the baby is doing just fine, she just likes to kick" she said as she laughed softly.

Edan nodded, smiling. His mama always let him talk to her...even if he was silly.
"Why's he kick ya?" he asked.

Smiling at the question she said, "She is just exercising honey, and she is very little her kicks are not very hard"

Holding out her hand to his "What to feel her kick?" she asked.

Edan wasn't sure if he did, but he placed his hand on his mama' belly anyway. The little bump his sister gave him made him smile.
"She likes me!" he giggled.

Kiara laughed and hugged Edan, "Of course she likes you honey... you are her older brother" she said happily.

"Are you looking for ward to your birthday tomorrow?" she asked knowing it was a silly question but wanting to ask him anyway.

Edan shrugged. But then nodded his head furiously.
"Of course, Mama! I've going to be 5!" no wait, he counted up the years on his fingers...
"oops...I'm gonna be 4." he slapped himself.

Laughing Kiara nodded, "It most certainly is, and you know what? I am resting today so I can spend the day out of bed for your party tomorrow" she said happily.

Yes she was going to go no matter what... unless heaven for bid knock on wood she goes into early labour again. Other then that she would be there even if she had to put herself in a wheel chair.

Edan jumped up and down on the bed, clapping his hands.
"Edan McConn!" Eglantine admonished, pulling him from the bed with a wandless levitation charm.
"Grandmama!" Edan giggled.

Kiara smiled at Eglantine as she sat up in her bed and turned to face her mother.

"It is alright Eglantine no harm done, I am glad he is so happy" she said was a soft laugh. Oh how she has missed making Edan laugh over the last few months.

" So what's on your mind Eglantine?" she asked curious by the surprised visit of her mother.

Eglantine said nothing as she set Edan down by the bed. "Sie vorsichtig sein." she admonished, lightly swatting Edan's posterior.
Edan giggled not understanding his grandmama as he climbed back onto the bed. "I made Mama laugh!" he stated, obviously proud of himself.
"Nothing, Kiara." she murmured, turning to sigh as Edwin chased his twin sisters by the door. "Silly..."

Kiara smiled ruffleing her young sons hair and putting her arm around him, she was so glad he was willing to spend time with her. Ever since the false labour scare it was suggested she rest more, to keep everyones mind at ease... as well as her own she complied and now was on bed rest a majority of the time. So she wasn't really all that fun to be around for a ecitable young boy.

"That you did little fire, but it was because I made you happy that I laughed." she said kissing his head.

Looking at Eglantine she smiled again, "Ah just here for a Visit then, Wonderful" she said.

" Have a seat if you want Eglantine" she said as she conjuried a comfy chair by her bed, being pregnent had not dampened her magic in the slightest, if anything it highened it some what. Healer said that was a good sign that the baby would be magicaly powerful as well.

"So how was the first week in Howgwarts?" she asked "you gave my reguards to the new first years I hope" she said. She did however receive the paper work for them she had to do still for there permianate records at hogwarts. It was simple signing of paper was required three things;

Students name
House name
and her personal signature

For offical acceptance into the school.

Edan snuggled against his mama, happy to be there. Closing her eyes briefly, Eglantine slowly settled herself into the chair. Her hip was acting up that day and due to her trying her best to not use Excessum's magic, she was exhausted.

"It was well." she murmured, remembering how happily the first years had been as they were sorted. "And you were missed." she added. If not by the students than by the staff. It had felt so strangely out of place for her to take the Headmistress' chair and thus she had not taken it. It had remained empty and she had given the beginning of the year speech from her own chair.
"Edwin sat with the Slytherin's this year."

Rubbling her hand gently over Edan's shoulder and arm she kissed him on the head "I love you little fire" she said softly. she listened to Eglantine, she smiled whistfully, and she missed being there, but obviously things couldn't be helped.

"And I miss being there Eglantine, feels awkward not working, signing the paper work in bed is hardly the same as being there" she said.

She gave a small smile at the news as to which house Edwin was in, "Ah I bet Viper was smirking up a storm then eh?" she said with a chuckle. "Tell him congratulations for me?" she said.

Yawning, Edan giggled and climbed under the covers in the bed, making a rather large bump in them as he crawled around.
Eglantine had to actually stop herself from yanking the boy out. Such a little mischievous child...she mused. And Tavish was worse, after all she had him in her house. No doubt little Edan and Rossa would, someday, also be making trouble at Hogwarts.

She nodded, not quite certain what Kiara had said, due to her not really listening. There were other voices and it was distracting. Blinking several times, she brought a hand to the side of her head, trying to clear it.
"Mama!" Ara squealed, running into the room and pouncing onto her mother. "Ava pushed me!" Right behind her, Ava dived as well. Thankfully Eglantine was able to levitate the second twin as the first had already damaged her comfortable position.
"No jumping." she muttered.

Kiara went to tickle the lump under her covers, when she noticed Eglantine looked rather tired, she was was about to ask if she felt alright when Ara came bounding into the room followed by her sister.

Then she guessed being mother to the twins was tireing her out, but she wasn't sure.

"Ara, and Ava How are you two nymphs doing?" she asked sometimes that was what her two little sisters reminded her of.

Ara buried her face into her mama's robes, peering out at Kiara. Not like her shy sister, Ava leapt onto the bed and attacked Edan, who squealed in surprise to have his "aunt" leap on him unexpected.
"Obviously they are hardly behaving." Eglantine murmured, too tired to pull Ava off the bed.

Kiara smiled, "Its now proplem Eglantine, they are just playing, besides this is the most fun I have had in quite a while" she said with a laugh.

"Are you feeling alright Eglantine?" she asked quietly while reajusting her pillows.

Edan yelped as Ava bit him and reached out of the covers to grab a handful of red curls.
"You heel!" Ava squealed, rolling off of him. "You let me go or I'll hex ya!" Edan just giggled and climbed from the covers, hand still tangled in red hair.

"Let go of Ava..." Eglantine nonchalantly murmured, stroking Ara's back.
"No, Kiara... but I will manage." her words were clipped and cold, the ice unmistakably as it was when she was tied to Excessum.

Kiara sighed and looked worried at Eglantine, before turning her attention to the two hyper children. Time to cut in..

"Edan McConn let go of Ava's hair this second and behave your self, Ava you to, I don't mind you playing, but no hurt eachother is that clear" she said, her voice level but stern to show she didn't aprove.

Edan released Ava's hair, beaming a cherub's grin at his mama. Not to be outdone, Ava pushed him and he fell from the bed. Smirking, Ava peered down at the boy.
"Did you slip?" she asked, innocently.

"Avalyne Amaranth McKevin!" Eglantine exclaimed, finally rising from the chair to rebuke her daughter. Ara remained in the chair, a wide-eyed look on her face. As if she couldn't believe her sister would do anything so hateful.
"Yes, mama?" Ava smiled, looking up at her mother.

Kiara let Eglantine deal with Ava as she slid over to the other side of the large bed, and got legs out from under the bed to see how Edan was, with a little effort she managed to kneel beside Edan on the floor.

"Are you alright Honey?" she asked. There bed wasn't meant for toddlers obviously so it was rather high to fall out of.

Edan sat up clutching his head in his hands. "I'm okay, mama." he mumbled. "My head just hurts." then the dam broke and he burst into tears.

Ava was as contrite as a baby rattler might be about harming a bird. Smirking at her victim, she rolled her eyes and her mama lifted her from the bed.
"He's just a cry baby!" she protested as Eglantine put her over her knee.
"Ava, I have told you. Your papa has told you. You can't hurt people like that." Two rather light swats against her bottom causes tears to fill the drama-queen's brown eyes and she sobbed against her mother's shoulder.

Ara began to cry as she saw Edan and then Ava cry and buried her head against her mama's back.

Kiara sighed and invited Edan in to her arms, "Let me see where it hurts honey" she said softly as she rubbed his back in a calming manor.

She sighed agian when she noticed the other to childrem in the room were crying to.
