McConn House (October 20th 2033 Fixed Time)

Kiara sat in the kitchen having a cup of tea and marking papers from Hogwarts, due to having her young children she came home on the weekends and when ever she wasn't overly busy at Hogwarts during the week.

Mornings in the house were always peiceful... and despite it being late october it looked as if it was going to be a nice day out the sun was rising.. Yes she had been up before sunrise, she didn't sleep very much lately, stress over her mother wighed to heavily on her mind to sleep peicefully .. it wasn't fair..

As the clock struck 6:30 am she desided to get breakfast started, before everyone else woke up...

Ciaran entered the kitchen, dressed and prepared to head off to his daily work. Usually he tried to no work the weekends...but today was a court-day. He seemed to do more paperwork than actual "hunting" but as long as that kept him alive for his family...he wasn't about to complain.
Having completed his auror training, Tav was now struggling with the same things...only he longed for more physical exertion and had yet to learn to desire some peace and quiet. Ah to be young...
Of course, he would prefer not having to get the stares and whispers from his fellow aurors. Ciaran was a fairly gentle, mild-mannered man. And he tried his best to get along with everyone. But he hated gossip. Especially gossip aimed at his wife.
Although the news reporters and reports were greatly to blame...
People had a tendency, by human nature, to talk about a rising Dark Lady whose daughter happened to be the daughter of a former Dark Lord and was currently Headmistress of Hogwarts.
Eglantine...she had stopped teaching 2 years before, having been removed from the school staff by the Ministry with good reason. Although he knew Eglantine would never willingly harm a student, she had become far too dangerous to be around rising adolescents.
"Good morning, Kiara." he greeted, leaning down to kiss her neck.
"How was ya sleep?"

Kiara gave a small smile as her husband came near, she gave him a kiss back. She sighed at his question..3.. maybe 4 hours if she was lucky, those hours however were to keep her head above water. Eglantine... that was a very complicated topic these days. Did she still love her mother? yes she did, did she feel utterly betrayed and hurt by her mothers drastic turn? yes.. again she did. There relationship... when she did see her mother.... was strained at best.

It didn't help she faced inquaries at hogwarts... Parents concerned the headmistress would go the same path as her mother..... and "father" had. She submitted to the inspections without a fuss and of course she passed them with flying colours. But people still feared she was up to something or hiding a "secret" life from them. This was why she tried so hard to keep her relation to Voldemort a secret, but somehow word leaked out and now the whole world knew..

She still remembered one time, not long ago She Beagan and Rossa had gone to diagon ally, Ciaran had been at work... for which she was secretly grateful, it might have caused a scene had her loving husband been with them... she was used to the stairs and whispers... but one man actually got the nerve to call her and her children "Spawn of evil". Beagan was too young to understand what it ment. Rossa had understood, it upset her greatly, and would have outright fought with the man who towered over her had Kiara not intervened and took her daughter and left the ally.

She had made Rossa promise not to tell her father what happened that day, it only would have upset him and there would be nothing he could do about it.

Although was a rearity she went out alone anymore.... heaven knows what some looney would try.. what if someone dared to go beyond name calling? only more trouble.

"Well enough Love" she said after a moment. Though she knew her husband knew her welll enough to know the truth. It was when she all out told him she slept horribly that he should worry.

But being a magicly powerful witch had its perks, she had figured out how to turn her magical energy into phyiscal energy, so she didn't feel as tired as she should, with only a few hours sleep.

"Breakfast will be ready soon" she said with a smile as she flipped to food from the frying pan into the air with practiced ease.

Ciaran nodded, understanding Kiara's comment. How did one sleep well with so much to worry about... it was moments like that that he was so glad his parents were average retired muggles. He had a hard enough time imagining having powerful muggle parents...magical parents with great power and terrible darkness was overwhelming when he put his mind to it.

"Darlin..." he murmured, following her to wrap his arms around her waist. "I need ta talk ta ya about school..." Edan had confessed not long ago that he and his siblings were constantly accosted verbally and physically due to their mother and grandmother. He was certain Kiara knew about it, and needed to talk to her about what they were going to do about it. No to mention the ministry orders in his pocket...but that could wait.

Kiara stiffened, at the mention of children at school, if what happened in the ally was any indiction... school was just as bad if not worse. And it angered her more then anything... yet she couldn't stop it.

"I know... the children...." she stopped with a hopless sigh.

" I am not sure what to do... other then keeping them home, but that won't solve anything.." she said through darkened eyes. She hated being the reason behind her children being bullied... it wasn't fair. Place her in the wrath if they must, but leave her children out of it.

With a flick of her wrist the food plated it self and waited on the table.

"I am at a loss as to what to do..... its not like it is a select group of kids..... its everyone, there parents to..." she said.

She turned around to face Ciaran, "I hate being the reason behind it" she said as tear entered her eyes.

"What can we do?" she asked quietly... Almost praying Ciaran had a answer.

Sighing deeply, he nodded in agreement with Kiara. What could they do? How he longed to tell her they could solve the problem. To tell her it wasn't her fault and that she had nothing to do with it... but that wasn't the truth. It wasn't her fault both of her parents were...well...dark.

"Darlin, ya can't be blaming yarself. Ya didn't even know she was yar mother afar a few years ago. And ya didn't know...He... was yar father. We just might wanna..." he paused. How did one go about saying what he was going to say?
"Cut ties with her. Let everyone know ya don't agree with her... disown her." It was so much to ask...but the only way he could think of to protect their family.

Finally he sighed and pulled the notice from his pocket. He wouldn't say anything till she asked.

Kiara paled at the implied idea, and she looked down... disown her?

"B..but..." she was shocked, the very idea seemed forigne to her. She still couldn't believe how bad things had gotten... she still remembered giving Eglantine her first birthday present... when she trusted Eglantine with her life... with her childrens lives.. It wasn't all that long ago actually.

A big tear dripped down her cheek, was this really the only way?

"I promised her I would always be by her side..." she whispered with as much saddness as one would think was in her voice.

Her eyes travled to Ciaran's hand and the paper he held. "Are those?...." she trailed off mutedly of course those were them.

Kiara's head dipped as tear silently streamed down her face....and she held back sobs..

"Is...is it the only... way?" she muttered out.

Ciaran sighed and gently gathered his wife into his arms. "I know, lass... but she left ya... Now we have ta think about our own children... If she never ever hurts them, someone else will because of her.
The papers... if only he had shredded them and returned home with roses instead...
"Me orders...our orders...meaning the aurors..." he murmured, opening the scroll.
"I can't think of another way..."

Kiara rested her head in Ciarans shoulder and managed to keep her sobs undercontrol, she would cry later.

Then Kiara saw the ministry papers, she stiffened and her arm seemed take a mind of its own as she grabed them. Her eyes reading through the paper rapibly picking up the key words she some how knew were there.

"Confirmed Dark Witch......

Citizen Lawfuly Arrest....

Aurors....have orders....Dead or Alive...."

Kiara felt her knees weaken or for a spit second her energy vanished. Her grip on the papers slacked. And she leaned into Ciaran heavily, and a sob escaped her throat.

"But...I still.. love her.... she's my Mother......" she whispered in between her sobs..

Ciaran felt his wife weaken and gently gathered her against him, using his strength to hold her up. Her whispered broken statement stung at him and he wished he had never shown her the papers.
Seating himself, he settled her in his lap and gently rocked her, tears dripping down his own cheeks at her pain.
"Oh Ara..." he murmured, words failing him. What were they going to do?

Kiara cried for several minutes before she finally calmed down, and bit of her strength returned. with her hand she summonded the paper back to her and she barried the anger inside her agian. Anger at Eglantine for turning on her, leaving her for cursed Exesscum. She regretted the day she brought the small potion phile To voldemort, it started the whole thing. She felt anger at the ministry for reacting the way they were.

She then looked at Ciaran, him and her children were about the only people she wasn't mad at.

"What are we going to do then?" she asked, she hoped he didn't plan to go alone with what the ministry ordered. That would just destroy her.

Sniffing back a tear, Ciaran looked into Kiara's deep blue eyes.
"What's right, Kiara. Love yar mother...but not her sin." he murmured, kissing her forehead.
"I love ya, and we aren't gonna be doing something that'll harm ya."

Kiara smiled sadly at Ciaran and wiped his tears off his cheeks, "Thank you love" she said.

Looking at the ministy's orders her shook her head again, "I don't know what the hope to accomplish with this, they can't kill her and about the only way she could be captured is if she lets them. Merlin she can kill people with a mere thought." she said folding the paper up again.

She looked at Ciaran again "Promise me something, if she is spotted, be careful... and contact me?" she asked. If Eglantine and the ministry came to blows she might be the only one who had a chance of telling Eglantine to back off without getting killed her self... or at least she hoped it remained that way.

Then Rossa sleepily walked in to the kitchen the newly turned 11 year old was always an early riser.

"Morn-in..." she said, then she noticed the room felt tence. "Is something wrong?"

Ciaran nodded, smiling softly as Kiara's slender hand wiped his tears away. "Their a feared, lass. That's all." he murmured. "As ya said, she's a powerful one...maybe too powerful. They don't and aint be seeing that if they leave her alone she'll leave em alone." And then he nodded.
"I'll be careful...very." he chuckled remembering back when he had worried simply about Eglantine's wraith when he had been "dating" Kiara.
"Morning ta ya, lass." he chirped, smiling at Rossa.

Kiara having regained her energy got up and smiled at Rossa hoping to cover up what was wrong.

Rossa still loved Eglantine very much she seemed to understand she was different now, but like Kiara that didn't change how she felt about her. Despite the ridicule her and her family got.

"Good morning Rossabell" Kiara said "Breakfast is on the table if you are hungry now"

Rossa nodded, she still got the feeling something was off... "Morning Dad, Mum" she said as she gave both a kiss on the cheek, before siting at the table and getting a cup of orange juice.

Always being sensitive she could shake the feeling something was wrong, and her Mother looked like she had recently been crying.

"Everything is alright... right?" she asked unsure.

Jumping up only moments after Kiara, Ciaran wrapped an arm around Rossa and hugged her.
"Sleep well, love?" he asked, hoping to get his and Kiara's minds off of Eglantine.

Rossa smiled and hugged her Dad again, she had the distinct feeling her parents weren't going to tell her what was wrong.

"I slept well Daddy, you?" she asked with a smile. Her eyes flicked to her mother she knew her mum slept little and worked more.

Kiara caught her look and gave a small smile and merely kissed her forehead before turning around to get Apple Juice of of the fridge.

Apple juice was always Beagans favorite.

Chuckling Ciaran nodded, dropping a kiss on his daughter's head. "Good." he murmured retaking his seat.
Eyes lighting up at the sight of the juice, he eagerly held out his cup, smiling like a school boy.

Kiara laughed lightly at Ciaran and she filled his cup up before seeting it on the table, and placing a cooling charm on it to keep it cold.

Rossa took her seat beside her mother and buttered a slice of toast, early in the morning she didn't feel that hungry so she started small and worked her way up. She then noticed her dad dressed for work.

"You have work today Daddy?" she asked as normally he was off on the weekend.

Winking at Kiara, he took a sip before nodding at Rossa. "Yes, darlin. A wee bit of a case is all, nothing big. After we can go ta the park or something, yeah?"

Rossa almost wince when her father suggested a park, but managed to stop herself, she loved the park... it was just not some of the people they saw there.

She still remember the Diagon ally trip, it had been a nightmare, it was still hard to believe a full grown had been actually willing to fight her a 10 year old girl.

Kiara caught the look in Rossa eyes and held her hand, they lived in a muggle nighborhood so it wasn't as bad, granted a reporter from the prophet might follow them home and bug them, she would tell them to get lost in her own way and that would be the end of it. Or at least her she hoped it would.

"It is alright sweetheart.." she whispered in Daughters ear. "We won't let anyone hurt ya, you know that.
