In the Gardens ~September 19, 2024~

Amy bit her lip and leaned her elbow on the table, "I.... I am not sure..." she said. The link with Aiden was fuzzy as if he were barely conscious.

"Something is wrong" she said as she attempted to get up only to feel as if someone had kicked her in the stomach. Wincing she crouched on the ground, trying to breathe through the pain.

"Its Aiden... he is being attacked, he has to be" she said in between breaths.

If Nicolas had been red before, he considerably paled now. He got up as quicky as he could to get to Amy's side.

He surveyed her carefully, unsure what to do. He didn't know where to put his hands, he didn't want to hurt her. He settled on cupping her cheek so he could look at her eyes. "Where is Aiden?" If he was being attacked, he had to save him!

Amy shook her head and bit the inside of her cheeks as a sting went through her back.

"I am not sure" she whispered. She being the natural Occlumens couldn't seek out her brother like he could her. Only way she could find him is if he actually consciously sent her his location. Which at the moment was quiet impossible as he was barely able to stay awake.

Then she almost doubled over as the unseen force of a curse to her brothers stomach felt as if she were being burned.

She did manage to not scream thought... barely.

Nicolas felt her convulsed and his worry grew. He was rather angry at himself for not really knowing what to do.

"Amy..." He wrapped his arms around her, pillowing her head with one of his arm. "Amy... look at me, just hold on to me okay? Just grip me. I don't care how much you hurt me, just when it starts hurting just grip me." He said trying to help.

Where the bloody hell could Aiden be?

Nicolas called to his servants, "Manuel!"

Manuel appeared as soon as Nicolas called him. "You know what Aiden looks like right?"

Manuel nodded in the affirmative.

Nicolas looked back at Amy. "Amy, please I need you to tell me the last place where you know where Aiden was."

Amy breathed through the next bought of pain, in Nicks arms.. whoever was doing this to her brother was enjoying it.

"Last I knew he was at the family house" she answered. Feeling a little more comfortable in Nicks arms.

Then she felt unbelievably cold and she couldn't stop the shiver as she heard Aiden scream in her mind.

Holding on to Nick tightly she paled considerably... Aiden was dieing..... she was dieing.

"Manuel, vas a la casa de su Madre!" Nicolas commanded hastily. "Busca Aiden y ayudale!"

((Manuel, go to her mother's house! Look for Aiden and help him! - really bad spanish though probably))

Nicolas looked back at Amy. Something was wrong... something was very very wrong. "Amy?..." Nicolas said. There was a high-pitched quality in his voice.

He felt her shiver. He was so scared. Oh Merlin... he'd never been afraid like this. He managed to wriggle his jacket off of himself while still craddling Amy and he put it around her.

"Amy? What's wrong?"

Amy looked into Nicks eyes sadly as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Aiden is injured badly... his thought are all garbled..... I can't understand him" she whispered.

"Nick he might be..... I might be..." she tried to say but looking at him.. so scared and panicked, No she couldn't do it, she could say it not yet.

Instead she let the sentence die on her tongue, as she managed to move just enough to hug him.

"Don't be scared Amor" she whispered trying to comfort him even though she knew now she time was limited, she didn't want to see fright in his eyes as the last thing she saw.

Nicolas shook his head as Amy trailed off. His brain filled up the gaps. Dying....

"No." Nicolas shook his head again. "No."

He let her hug him and he closed his eyes as he inhaled her scent.

"Amy no... you can't..." His voice crackled. He reproached himself for the weakness.

"Amy, listen, Aiden is going to be alright." Yes he was. He was going to be alright. Aiden is going to be alright. "Manuel is going to find him. He's going to help him, they are going to go to the hospital and he is going to be healed. You're going to be alright Amy... You're going to be alright." He repeated over and over.

Amy felt another tear go down her face, as she felt the garbled thoughts of Aiden in her mind get weaker and weaker.

He had little time left... she had little time left. Trying to suppress the shiver that went through her body she swallowed, and brought her now cold hand up behind his the back of Nicks head.

Gently and calmly as she could considering the circumstances, she ran her hand through his smooth black hair.

"Shhh...." she said with as much love if she were calming her own child.

"Amor, I love you" she said and kissed him. "So much...."

"No..." Nicolas struggled to say as the realization hit him. No... Manuel would find Aiden, it would all be okay... No. Amy can't....!

No, no, no! His mind raced to find some sort of solution. There was always a solution! There had to be! He couldn't lose her...

He blinked back the tears that were threating to fall. She couldn't! He wouldn't let her!

"Amy please don't! I need you! Please.... please stay with me..." Nicolas whispered gently. His right hand fumbled getting to the pocket of his jacket.

"Please Amy..." He couldn't stop it, a traitorious tear fell on his cheek. At last his hand found that it was looking for, a small velvet box. "Stay with me...."

"You have to stay with me Ams," his throat tightened as he tried to speak. He took out the box, and opened it.

Inside there was a silver ring with a diamond mounted on it - an engagement ring.

"Please Amy, see?" He sounded like a lost child. "You have to stay and marry me..."

Amy lost it when she saw the engagement ring, a painful sob escaped her throat and held Nick close to her.

"..I ... I am so sorry..I.." she couldn't continue her sentence as she continued to cry on his shoulder.

"I love you" she said in a whisper. She wouldn't say yes, she couldn't it would torture him to much for her to say yes to him only for to die minutes later.

"I am sorry Amor.." she said again as she shakily wiped his tear away.

Than she felt it.. she gasped when Aiden's garbled thoughts suddenly silenced and vanished.

Any remaining colour in Amy's face drained, and she no longer had the strength to hold on to Nick so she let her self fall back into his arms.

Turning her gaze to Nick, in a barely audible voice she whispered... "He is gone"

Nicolas saw Amy pale and he was in the position to feel her weaken. She only verified what he already guessed at. Aiden was gone...

"No!" Nicolas said with much more valour this time. "No Amy..." Nicolas shut his eyes several tears falling in the process.

"Please Amy!" He begged. He opened his eyes, there were bright with tears. "Please stay with me!"

"Please say you'll stay and marry me!" Nicolas' tears we falling freely now. He hastily wiped them off the edge of his sleeve.

"Amy you don't have to die... maybe it was just a fluke, your connect with him... please Amy just fight it... I love you... I need you to stay with me... we are going to marry and we are going to have a pretty little daughter...." He was rambling now, most of it was being drowned by the heaviness he felt in his chest.

"Please Amy, will you marry me?"

Silent tears fell down Amy's cheeks as Nick begged her not to leave leave him. He had no idea how much she was fighting the loosing battle to stay awake. She felt weak , she lips were going numb, and if not or the red lip stick on them they would have looked a blueish purple. She pale skin was now pasty white and ice cold, she snuggled herself in closer to Nick comforted by his closeness and body heat.

In her minds eyes she played out how this should have gone, they had just finished dinner and Nick although nervous comes over to her and drops to one knee, revealing the beautiful diamond ring he had for her. She could hear him ask the question "Please Amy, Will you Marry me"

Amy smiled and looked at Nick in the real world, and mirrored the words she would have said.

"Yes Amor... I will Marry you" she said faintly. "And have a beautiful baby daughter, she would have your perfect black hair... my eyes.. and you would treat her like a little princess and give her anything her heart desired. A Boy would be nice to...He would have your eyes, and he would be my little prince.... It would be like a fairytale come true... My own prince charming, and our little prince and princess.."

Then her world darkened and she let herself fall into the fantasy land she had made her self.

With a faint smile at the happy thought of a bright future she whispered. "I Love you Amor..my Nicolas"

Then Amy was gone.

Nicolas gently caressed Amy's cheek, wiping some of the tears away. His own face, wasn't fairing so good either.

She looked so fragile, he wanted to hold her tightly, a weak attempt at making her stay. But he knew, though he'd never phantom to admit, he knew deep, deep in his heart of hearts that she fighting a losing battle.

He closed his eyes, angry tears leaked on his cheeks.

This wasn't the way it was suppose it be!

He was going to ask her to marry her and she was going to say yes. They were going to have a small wedding, just a few of their friends because he couldn't take not having her a second longer. Then maybe, if there were enough protest, they'd make a big wedding... it would be grand... everyone they knew would be there, he wanted them to be, he wanted to show them... he wanted to announce to the world that he was getting married to Amy... in fact he'd a letter to the Daily Prophet at the ready after tonight...

Then they'd have a daughter. It's true he wanted a son but... that was just a superficial want. A Pureblood heir thing, he could really careless about that... It really didn't matter to him if they had a boy or a girl but... he could just imagine their daughter... just the way in she described her. He could imagine Sunday Morning, he'd be making pancakes (one of two of the only things he could make), their daughter would be there helping him with the batter. Then they'd put the pancakes on a tray, and sneak into their room, with Amy still fast asleep. He'd then wake Amy up by kissing her gently, their daughter giggles with delight - and then Amy opens her eyes, a beautiful smile spread across her face, a smile Nicolas would do anything to have constantly. He would look back at their daughter, and she'd be wearing the same smile too and he'd feel an overwhelming sense of happiness.

Nicolas watched, in silent agony as Amy breathed her last. He could see her eyes slowly loose their lustre as she gradually drifted into a slumber that no kiss would wake her up.

"I Love you Amor..my Nicolas"

This was the day that the world ended.
