My Office

"Of course!" Horatio chuckled, hugging Kiara tightly without setting Eglantine down. "I do love making things official." He joked.

"Could you put me down now..." Eglantine sighed. Horatio finally acquiesced, holding her up slightly until she had a firm hold on the levitation.
"Thank you, Kiara." she smiled, finally able to hug her daughter without Horatio's arm in the way.

"So, now you'll have two Professor McKevins..." Horatio teased, knowing full well that Eglantine would keep her name for professional reasons.
She smiled, mouthing "over my dead body" to Kiara.

Headmistress Kiara was once again thankful she was a witch as she used a enchanted Quill to write out documents for the ministry and at the same time look at Wedding dresses for her wedding that was to take place at the end of Febuary.

"Hmmm this looks nice.." she muttered as she dictected her attention to another document on her desk..

Ah the wonders of Multi-tasking...

Logan Grayson walked briskly down to the Headmaster's office. He could have written a letter, but he was a go getter, and writing letters was tedious, whereas, face to face meetings where preferable. He knocked softly on the door.

Kiara looked up from her flurry of signing paper and preparing for her wedding when the knock on the door sounded. The spell at the door told her it was not a professor or a student..

Curious as to who was at her door step, yet cautious all the same, she set her work down and waved her hand to open the door.

"Come in" she said.

"What do I owe this pleasure?"

"Hello, Headmaster." Logan smiled politely. "Logan Grayson."

He stuck out his hand for her to shake. "I don't know if you remember me, but we had met a couple of years ago. If you don't, I don't blame you, the - ah - circumstances were less then desirable."

Kiara blinked at the man as he introdced himself, he did look vaguely familiar. As she shook his hand the memory of where and when came to mind.

She had been a patient at St. Mungos hospital, still recovering from the attack that ended her career as an Auror. She believed they had dicussed the fate of the young werewolf that had the misfortune to have done the horrific deed. All she has asked was that he seek help to better control his condition so something that never happened again.

"Yes... yes of Course, I remember, Mr. Grayson, it has been a while. Pleasure to see you again. Do have a seat, I am curious as to why you are here.... I haven't seen or heard from Ben since it happened..." she said quite stumped on the managers presence in her office.

At the Headmistress' request, Logan sat down.

"Yes well... Ben's been..." Logan looked away, unsure how to approach with his proposition. He signed and put on a smile. "How have you been?"

Kiara raised an eye brow for a second a the focus went from Ben then back to her rather quick. Had something happened..?

"I am quite well, been very busy as you can imagine, with the school.. and getting married next month." she said with a small smile on her face.

She took a breath and a small cough and she eyed her guest, debabting with her self if she should push him to get to the point of his visit or continue with the polite curtiesies.

In the end politness one over... barely..

"Yourself?"

"I am quite well thank you." Logan could sense that the eagerness the Headmistress had. She wanted to know why he was there. Well he wasn't going to make her wait. On to the point.

"Ben, my client however..." He trailed off. "He is why I am here."

He crossed his legs. He had a horrible habit off tapping them whenever he was agitated. He wasn't really nervous, it was just important that this went through.

"You were the first one he attacked under his curse." Logan paused and thought about what he was going to say next. "Unfortunately you weren't the last."

"A few months later..." Logan sighed. He still couldn't believe Ben could do such a thing, werewolf or otherwise. "He was out of Wolfsbane, his last vial had broken during an accident, it was a full moon that night and he..." Ben loved Jessica and Logan knew he wouldn't do anything to hurt her. "He attacked his fiancee."

"She narrowly survived but the incident left her horribly disfigured."

Logan ended his tale to wait for her reaction.

Kiara listened to what Logan had to say about what happened to Ben. She frowned and shook her head as Logan finished the story. She could only imagine the state Ben was in after a tragity like that. It wasn't his fault, but it was easy to blame ones self in such an event, if she had been in his shoes she likely would have.... well not have taken it well would have put it lightly.

"I see...I regret to hear it Mr. Grayson..I had hoped something like that would have been prevented... I assume the aftermath of this, everything hit rock bottom?" she said quietly as she waved her hand and floated a tea set over to pour some tea.

She had a feeling the reason he was here would come up soon.

"Indeed. He has never forgiven himself. He has quit the league and gone on a self-imposed banishment." Logan agreed. Logan took the offered tea-cup and had a sip. "Thank you." He said offhandedly.

"I suppose you are wondering by now what I am doing here, or why I am telling you all of this." Logan continued pulling the tea cup down on the table.

"I heard from some rather reliable sources that you have a teaching position open here at the school. One for Flying Lessons. Right?" Logan said.

Kiara nodded curtly at wondering what this was all about, as she would help if that is what he wanted... it just seemed odd it was her he came to.. Then it started to make sense, of course.. it might do a depressed former but still young quiddtich player some good to teach young kids the art of flying. plus there would be no shortage of Wolfsbane potion here.. As unlikely as it sounded Hogwarts was the safest place for him..

"You information is true, with all the activity around here, I had to cancel the first year flying lessons with out a proper instructor. If you are proposeing he have the position I have no objection the school is well equiped for someone with Lycanpathopy. He won't be a danger to anyone.. However if what you say is true, and he has bannished him self. Will he still accept the job?" she asked.

Her feelings about having the werewolf that attacked her working at her school, it was strange, felt as if fate was once again playing a joke on her. But compared to the other shocks she had gotten since she came to Hogwarts this wasn't so bad. Besides she had the feeling Ben would like feel stronger about it then she did.

Logan nodded. He was yet again impressed by the individual that was the Headmistress. He was surprised at first when they met as she didn't press charges on his client - though she had every right to. And now again for even entertaining the idea of having the werewolf who attacked her come and work for her. This was why Logan Grayson came to her. He was desperate. He knew there was a very slim chance but he had hoped, he had hope that this may be the one chance Ben had left. Though Logan Grayson was - yes a greedy, self-absorbed manager - he really did have Ben's best interest at heart. The guy was more than his client, but his friend and those were hard to come by.

At Kiara's question he smiled. "From you, I am certain he will. He is indebted to you, he'll give you the shirt of his back if you even glanced at it."

Then his expression turned somber. "With nothing to take up his time, I could only image what a depressed, self-loathing soul like him is thinking." He took out a small vial from his pocket. "I found this in his table the last time I visited him. It contains a most powerful poison. Fatally powerful."

"This is not the first job I have tried to get him in. There were others but he declined those easily. I didn't want to come here to impose especially after what had happened with you in the past. But you must know Headmistress, I'm desperate. He is a good guy and I'd hate if something horrible were to happen to him."

Kiara blinked, slightly shocked that the young quiddtich player still felt so strongly about her and what happened.

She shook her head and her frown deepend as she handled the vial. Mr. Grayson wasn't kidding, Ben needed something... she could sympathize and even understand what he was going through. Guilt of hurting someone you loved was a powerful and horrible thing.

"Oh merlin..." she muttered... some would argue Ben needed proessional help and not a job, suicdal behavior was hardly the mark of a good employee. But then she thought of all of them who had come to hogwarts looking for a new start on life..How was Ben any different?

With a sigh she placed the lethal vial on her desk.

"Alright Mr. Grayson he as good as has the job, though I would like to meet with him first of course." she said with a nod. She never hired solely through managers... she liked hearing from the source as well.

"Of course." Logan agreed. "I could have that arranged easily enough."

"Though I do have one further request." Logan said silkly. "I would be much indebted if you didn't mention this meeting to him. Or the fact that I was the one who arranged it."

"The offer must come from you or else he will merely disreguard it." Logan warned. He really hoped this one fell through.

"He has taught in the past. In the league they had a program for players who wanted maybe to help out children who are less fortunate. They would teach them to fly for free. And Headmistress, he had once confided that if he hadn't been a Quidditch Player, he would be perfectally content with teaching." Logan told her.

Kiara nodded, "Yes very well, I heard from the grape vine he was no longer playing Quiddtich, and I am curious if he is interested in taking the spot" she said with a nod. She felt slight bad for lieing to the man, but in the end this would likely be his last and only chance if it was as bad as Mr. Grayson made it out to be.

She smiled slightly at the fact Ben would have been happy with teaching if he hadn't gone professional. "That is good to hear, thank you Mr. Grayson I hope this works out well for all of us." She said feeling there meeting was nearing its end.

"No," Logan shook his head and smiled graciously. "Thank you. You're amazing Headmistress."

He pulled out his card. "If you need anything. Anything at all. Do not hesitate to owl."

Kiara blushed, "Merely trying to do the right thing Mr. Grayson" she said as she took his card.

"Thank you, and good luck" she said as she stood up. " Same to you, I am always contactable here at hogwarts of course."

Logan nodded. "Always quite a pleasure." He stood up and bowed. "I'll see you around."

And with that he left.

Kiara quickly got to work on making her and Mr. Grayson's plan to get Ben out and about started.

She wrote a letter asking him if he would be interested in taking the flying instructors spot. She Wrote:

"Dear Benjamin Alonso,

I am writing to ask if you would be interested in taking the empty flying instructors postion here at hogwarts? Hogwarts is farily secure and well able to handle your medical needs. I promise there there is nothing to worry about there.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you can make it.

Headmistress Kiara Delanquar"

Kiara gave the letter to Saturn her pheonix, "Take this to Ben, and do try not to scare him to much when you arrive. Merlin knows I know you love scaring people out of the minds" she said in amusment to her familliar.

With a thrill Saturn departed.

[A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER]

Benjamin shuffled his feet as he stood outside the Headmistress' office holding the letter she had sent him. He still couldn't believe it. After what he had done...

He signed and subsequently knocked.

Kiara was once a again on her office, on her second cup of coffee she had pulled a rather late night and early morning with all the work she had to do for her class and the triwizard tournement.. not to mention her regualar headmistress duties as well her wedding prep she was Very very busy....

"I need to get a blasted time turner... that is all there is to it" she muttered after a yawn. Then at the knock on the door she gasped and looked at the clock... Of course she almost forgot about her meeting with Ben about the Flying intructor position.

With a wave of her hand her door opened, "Come in Mr. Alonso, Come in" she said as she stood holding her hand out. Hoping against hope this meeting went well...

"Have a seat, it is a pleasure to meet you again" she said with a small nod of her head.

"Hello Headmistress Delanquar." Benjamin greeted, entering the office rather timidly. He shook her hand."I must say I was rather... surprised to receive your letter."

Kiara nodded as she shook his hand, "In more ways then one I am betting" she said with a smile. "But yes, I heard you were no longer playing quidditch, and Hogwarts is in need of a flying instructor. With the triwizard tournament this year, flying has been put to the side as everyone is very busy." She explained as she pured a cup of tea for her guest.

She looked at Ben for a moment, she wasn't sure if she should approach their past encounter or not.

"Now, I am sure you have questions, concerns?" she asked softly.

"Yes quite." Ben smiled nervously. He was rather surprised just as he was about to eat his supper a phoenix interupted - bringing a letter from the Headmistress of Hogwarts - who just happens to be none other than - well yes, he was quite surprised.

"I just... " Ben had been thinking about how to go about doing this on the way here. "I'm just... a little bit confused." He said looking at the letter and back at the Headmistress.
