My Office

Kiara nodded when asked if only those on the list could see it, "Yes it appears that way" she said.

"Do they wipe out entire families, for that matter?"

Kiara bit her lip, that may be their goal..

"By them selves, I don't think they have, yet.... but that isn't to say they don't want to, right now the family in danger of being wipped out is the Viper family. Amaranth Viper is the only living relative left in that family, they kill her the family is done. The rest of her family died by other means. So as for your question, I believe it is there goal to wip out families, they just have not done so yet. Ethan is right Ms, Amello you maybe on the real list, and be in danger your self, I caution you greatly to secure where you live... just to be safe. Your children will be fine, Hogwarts is well protected against anyone with ill intent. I have made sure of it" Kiara explained.

((I think now is the perfect time for Juria to meet Laura ^^ and also make things a little more complicated ^_~ hope no one minds me entering, if you do, kick Juria RIGHT back out!))

Juria quickly went to Kiara's office; she was out of just about everything in the infirmary. She had to ask Kiara where she could get more potions WITHOUT bothering Viper. She knocked on the door and waited for Kiara to ask her to come in. Juria hoped that Kiara wasn’t TOO busy to see her.

((Yep perfect time to meet the ex-wife XD))

((Lol, Rain. It's fine by me. I was actually going to have Laura faint, which would require her to head to the Infirmary as Ethan would have no idea what to do for her. But this is fine, too. =D ))


Laura had gone several shades paler at the Headmistress's hypothesis about the purgers' eventual goal. That meant that her parents in Italy were in grave danger as well...

Amaranth Viper... that name sounded familiar. She was a connection to Ethan, if Laura remembered correctly. It wasn't the woman he'd had an affair with though - of that she was certain. That woman's name had been named 'Rose'... Laura nodded her understanding and winced, fingering the headache relief potion Kiara had given her.

"Thank you, Headmistress. And that is dreadful about Miss Viper... I will take measures to safeguard my residence. If Ethan stays here over the summer, would the children be able to stay as well?" she asked, just as there was a knock at the door.

"Please excuse me... I should really take this," Laura stated after a moment, retrieving the headache potion from her pocket. "Thank you again for the potion, Headmistress," she offered and politely turned away as she downed the dosage.


Ethan jumped when heard the knock, his own personal worries over the purgers making him particularly paranoid. The wizard calmed down upon identifying the noise as merely someone requesting entrance, not someone breaking down the door to kill the six of them...


Meanwhile, Heather Addams quietly pulled open the door to the back room so the three of them could watch what was going on. Valerio held the puppy in his arms, trying to hold back his giggles as it licked his face happily. Erica was trying to get the puppy's attention by petting it with the rope toy, but to no avail.


((Thought since it is Kiara's office that Kiara should be the one to say whether or not Juria enters. ^_^))

Kiara looked in concern at Laura after her explanation, for a moment it looked like she was about to pass out.

"Of course Miss, Amello I am under no right to tell you what can and cannot do with your children. I just caution you to be very, very careful, there is no way to tell how much they know of your family. It all depends how interested they are in Ethan" she said.

At the knock on the door, she felt for the spells at the door it was Juria.

"You are very welcome Miss Amello, you seem to need it. I hope it helps some" she said as she waved her hand at the door, opening it. "Come in Juria" she said with a small smile to Ethan when she saw him jump.

Juria entered and the sight that met her gaze was a little not what she expected. Her hand still on the doorknob she smiled at everyone,

"Oh hello Professor Addams, hello everyone... I’m sorry am I intruding?"

Juria greeted them all. Then addressed the Headmistress,

"If you want Headmistress, I can come back later."

Juria was curious as to whom the other visitors were but she knew most of the time it was best not to pry.

Today Juria was dressed in a plain navy blue t-shirt with a satin overcoat and one button buttoned in the middle. She had on black fabric pants and blue sleeve-gloves that she wore on both arms. On top of the sleeve-gloves were silver and black bangles and she wore a necklace which was a simple diamond heart with gold wings on either side. Today her hair was down and gently flowed out.

Laura nodded, wanting to say something about a certain literary agent's interest in her former husband, but decided against it. Kiara didn't really need to be subject to the qualms she had with Ethan. Plus, the headache and thoughts of the List prevented her from really feeling up to quibbling with the wizard. "Thank you... it does help a little. I've been getting these terrible headaches lately," she said, muttering a cleansing charm on the phial before placing it on Kiara's desk as it had belonged to the Headmistress originally.

The children sidled out of the room, trying to do so while remaining largely unnoticed. They each had playful smiles on their faces, completely oblivious to the List of the Damned.


Ethan nodded his hello to Juria, still slightly surprised. Recovering from his shock, the wizard approached and offered to steer her further into the room without making contact that might be perceived as intimate. "Not at all. I think we were just finishing up... weren't we?" he replied and then asked, making a pointed glance toward the 'escapees'. Laura's tone just seconds before sounded like the one she used right before concluding a conversation. He motioned for the kids to come forward, a sign that their covert operation was no longer a secret.

"Juria, this is my ex-wife Laura... and our three children: Erica, Heather, and Valerio," Ethan explained, though made sure he had the correct name with the correct twin. This really wasn't quite how he'd anticipated telling the school nurse about the fact that he'd been married before, and fathered children, but it was a little late for that. He'd intended to tell her sometime soon, what with the fact that they were going to the Yule Ball together. Even Ethan knew it wouldn't be fair to not tell one's date at least a little bit about one's past! Especially something as relevant as a prior marriage.

But yet... Ethan was also a little worried about telling Juria this vital piece of input. Firstly he didn't want Juria to feel that he was trying to replace a void in his life by asking her to the ball, and on a date completely unrelated to said social gathering. Secondly, the wizard didn't want Juria to think he was a bad father, due to the reason that Laura had the kids and he didn't. He was afraid of Juria's opinion of him should she ask or discover why Laura left him and fought to have custody of the children. The wizard wasn't really sure whether to pale or blush upon even considering Juria's reaction if Laura should want to snipe in the other woman's presence and for some reason mentions his affair. Yet another inner demon Ethan would rather not mess with.

"We get to come here for school next year!" The twins cheered together in Juria's direction happily.

"H-How do you do, Miss, erm... Juria?" Laura greeted the other woman, feeling and sounding a little light-headed. Her parents and grandparents were likely in grave danger, her children would be in danger when they reached adulthood, and Ethan - though their separation only left hard feelings between them - was likely the most immediate person she knew in the direct line of fire. It was because of him and what she'd suspected to be some very illicit activities that would bring the purgers to their doorsteps. Laura wasn't sure whether to be sympathetic for her ex or irate that his actions now landed the lot of them on an assassin's wish list.

Juria smiled beautifully, happy to find something out about Ethan she didn’t know.

"Aww they are adorable."

Juria complimented Ethan. Juria was sure that Ethan was going to tell her eventually. It was true that most women would give the man a hard time if he forgot to tell her that he had an ex-wife and three kids. However Juria did not judge someone's past, she knew how it was like to be judged by past actions. Juria knew that there would be a time when Ethan and her would exchange stories about their past lives… well Ethan would, Juria would probably say something during Hogwarts or the four years she had HAD a memory.

Juria smiled at the twins,

"Well I'm the doctor so if you need help you can see me ok?"

She informed the two girls. Juria then looked over to Ethan’s ex.

"I am well thank you Laura... are you feeling ok?"

Juria realized that Laura seemed to be swaying a little more than usual.

Kiara smiled when Juria entered and see met the kids. She wasn't concerned over the meeting with Juria and Laura. Juria was so nice she could get along with anyone who gave she a chance.

She did however look at Laura in worry at here stuttered greeting to Juria. She didn't look well at all.

Kiara moved over to the other women, she had just been given a trunk load of very bad news and to be feeling unwell to begin with, she could hardly blame the woman for feeling faint.

"Perhaps you should keep your head down for the moment Laura, you don't look well" she said as her eyes traveled to Juria, She was the resident Doctor afterall.

Juria agreed with Kiara, Laura did not look to well. Her 'doctor attitude' taking over quickly Juria made her way over to Laura and felt her forehead for a temperature, wondering weather it was stress on the mind or if she had been sick.

"Do you feel light headed Laura?"

Juria asked, hoping nothing was too wrong.

One could almost hear the mental sigh of relief Ethan withheld at Juria’s positive reaction to his prior family. On the outside, he beamed at the compliment.

“Thank you,” Ethan and Laura replied to Juria’s compliment in unison. Two pairs of brown eyes met in disbelief and then looked away. “I wouldn’t be trading any of them for the world...” Ethan added, wanting to make his own comment with his own words.

All three children nodded to Juria’s request to see her. Heather, like her father, was already making plans to see the nurse on a daily basis. When the attention shifted to their mother, and they noticed her pallor and looking clearly under the weather, the kids immediately began a string of questions aimed at their father.

“What’s wrong with Mommy?”

“Will she be okay?”

“Why’s she look like she sawr a ghost?”

As the questions continued, Ethan felt more than a little overwhelmed by them. “Children, I honestly don’t know. Please, take a seat and keep quiet, won’t you? Your mummy’s got a splitting headache by looks of ‘er...” he pleaded and shepherded them over to the chairs.


“I’ve been better, to be honest,” Laura replied to the nurse’s inquiry into her own welfare. At Kiara’s suggestion to keep her head down, the witch nodded and grunted in pain caused by the action. Juria’s hand upon Laura’s forehead felt warm compared to her own, which could only be described as cold and clammy.

“A bit...” she admitted to being light-headed. “I feel... I feel f-“

Before Laura could even get the word out, she fainted and started to fall...

Kiara nodded to Ethan when he herded the kids away, she continued to look at Laura in worry, as nearly all the colour left her face.

"Are you alright Miss, Amello?" she asked.

When Laura fell, Kiara streched her arms out to slow her fall and to ensure she didn't harm herself any more.

"I got you" she said.

She looked at Juria, "Juria, help me" she said as she lowered the unconcious woman to the floor.

She checked Laura's pulse and conjured a small stool under Laura legs to get some blood to come back to her head.

Juria went to Laura's side and saw the woman was breathing.

"She... she just collapsed, its fine, she needs rest."

Juria pulled the woman up into sitting position and made sure she kept breathing.

"She will be fine don’t worry"

Juria assured the rest of them with a smile.

"Did she have an extreme shock a little while ago?"

Juria wondered, since that might cause the fainting. Juria smiled up at Ethan, wondering if seeing Ethan might be nerveracking for her.

A blond pair of eyebrows furrowed against the frames of Ethan's glasses. He could tell Laura had been near her limit. Perhaps he shouldn't have told her right then... but the wizard wouldn't have been able to live with himself if he never got the chance to say anything and it ended up being too late. Ethan, not wanting the kids to see their mother in such a way, attempted to shepherd them back to the back room. He reached into his pocket and withdrew a scrap piece of parchment, which he turned into a rubber squeaky ball for the kids to play with the puppy with. Closing, locking, and sound-proofing the door, he returned to Kiara and Juria to see if his ex-wife was all right.

The Herbologist heaved a sigh of relief when Juria stated Laura just needed rest. At the nurse's question, though, Ethan laughed nervously in an attempt to shake off some of the distress he was personally under. "A couple of shocks, I daresay..." he muttered clear enough to be heard.

"Not sure which one did it, though: the fact that I'm teaching here or the fact she and her family might well be on the List of the Damned because of her association with and former marriage to me...

"Either way it's me own bloody fault, now isn't it?" Ethan added, looking distinctly uncomfortable and unnerved. He was scared for Laura, and his own skin... not to mention that of everyone he felt connected to that he spied on the incomplete list. Like Juria, Viper, and Kiara...

And when the kids grew to be adults... well Ethan felt he would surely be an old man by then, but even an old dog can learn some new, cunning tricks. Though he knew he wasn't the best duelist around, he would not allow the purgers to take the lives of his children. Hell, they wouldn't even know why they were being hunted!

Juria nodded, those were a bit nerve-wracking.

"Do not blame yourself Ethan, I'm sure she was just worried about everyone else... sometimes the mind can only take so much information and shocks."

Juria laughed, she remembered seeing Ethan's name on the list but did not have any clue as to why he was on there. However she knew that if she would ask him, she might have to tell him why SHE was on the list. It was something Juria knew she WAS going to tell him, but eventually so he could first get to know her and not be too scared of the idea.

Juria had only her friends to worry about here at Hogwarts, She felt sorry for Ethan to also be worried about his children. The strain on Ethan must have been about the same as Laura.

"Professor... are you feeling ok? You have some stress also don’t you?"

Juria smiled at him, she wanted to help Ethan since she had actually fallen for him somewhat. They didn’t know each other too much yet but Juria still liked Ethan.

"I'm sure you are worried about everyone, including your kids when they grow up so are you feeling ok?"

Juria was busy caught up in all of this that she had forgotten and disregarded why she came to Kiara in the first place. Juria was a little bit shocked that Ethan had an ex-wife and also children, but now that was all water under the bridge. The weekend was coming up and she decided to go out with Ethan and just talk.

Kiara sighed and conjured a bed and levitated Laura on to it. Placing a cold cloth on the top of the womans forehead.

She nodded at what Juria said to Ethan.

"She is right Ethan, this isn't your fault.. and the list.... That list should not exist to begin with. What the purgers are doing is are worse then anything you have done, no one here deserves to be on it. But is beyond our control at the moment, blaming your self for this will get you no where Ethan"

Kiara made a note to explain this to Laura when she was feeling well enough. Ethan didn't deserve the guilt for all this, he had enough to worry about, like the safety of his family for one.

Then she turned to Juria, "I think the shocks, combined with the fact she said she wasn't feeling well before all this may be why she passed out. She said she has been ill for quite some time now....." she said.

Turning back to she said, "If you need a few days off to get everything settled with the kids, you are welcome to take them Ethan" she said with a nod.

"And Juria... how are you holding up hmm?" she asked.

'Yes, but if I'd only kept me bloody nose clean...' Ethan mused, but didn't say anything. He did nod, though, even if he couldn't help but feel responsible for putting the lives of those he loved - and loves, in regards to his children - in danger.

While the witches tended to Laura, Ethan considered and disregarded pacing so much that he was doing so unconsciously. He sort of half-jumped when he realized Juria had addressed him. "Yes, yes, I'm quite all right. No worries," he said a tone he had hoped was cheery, but actually sounded rather nervous. "Bit stressed... of course..." Ethan agreed. There was a panicked undercurrent to his voice that he was trying to reign in. Juria's smile coerced him into attempting one of his own, which ended up more like a grimace. "I'll be fine," he added, wishing he could've made himself sound just a twinge more convincing.

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I think I might do that, Kiara... at least to make sure the kids are settled in..." Ethan agreed. "Thank you."

At Kiara's question to Juria, Ethan nodded and turned his dark caramel-irised eyes to the school doctor to see if he could determine anything for himself. He had begun to feel something for the witch that seemed to keep to herself most of the time. Despite the events of the day, the wizard was bound determined to make sure both he and Juria would enjoy their date this coming weekend.

At the back of his mind, he wondered if there was a House-Elf that didn't mind babysitting. Or, alternately, if Juria would mind having three little tag-alongs accompanying them.


Meanwhile, Laura's features relaxed as the cool washcloth did a fair bit to ease the remaining pain of her headache. She came to for just a moment, murmured the name 'Jason' fondly, and then slipped back into unconsciousness.


Ethan heard the name and didn't know whether his face wanted to flush or pale. In the end, he paled: the relationship he had with Laura was long since over. She had moved on rather well... whereas Ethan himself was only just emerging from former-husbandhood and reinserting himself back into the dating world.

Kevin walked up to the headmistress Office, and stood in front of the gargoyle with a thoughtful expression on his face...

"Hmmm I wonder what dear Kiara would put as a password..." he mused.

Then he shruged, "No matter...." he said as he flashed is Commander badge at it, giving him access to walk inside without the password. Technically he was allowed to do that unless the headmistress was incopassiated or dead and the school was under seig.

Going up the stair case he knocked..

Kiara looked up curious as to who was there, it wasn't a professor or a student...

"Come in" she said.

"My my Kiara dear where are your manners?" Kevin asked in amusment.

Kiara paled and looked up, "You! what are you doing here?" she snapped drawing her wand.

Kevin smiled and riased his arms, "Nothing much at them moment my dear I assure you"

The look Kiara gave him told anyone who saw it that she didn't believe him at all.

"Honest, I am not here to hurt anyone... reguardless of weather or not you have thought of my proposal or not" he said.

"That Commander, was not a Proposal it was a threat and you know it... I don't want your sevices, I never have.. now if you please... leave me and my family alone for once"...

Kevin chuckled... "You are cute Kiara, has anyone ever told you that?" he said amused. "No I am merely here to sommon you to the ministry in a forthight, your presance is requiared..."

Kiara glared, "For what?" she asked.

Kevin smirked, "Now Kiara dear... If I told you that now it would spoil the surprise now wouldn't it" he said with a chuckle

With a growl Kiara riased her wand "Allow me to escort you out?" she barked.

Laughing Kevin asked, "Don't trust me to leave on my own my dear?"

"No I don't" she said.

"Very smart of you My dear.." he said with laugh as Kiara escorted him out of her office wand in hand.

Kiara bolted form her chair when the wards went off, there were Dementors attacking to castle.

Running out of her office she went to gather the staff to help defend the school and its students.

"Headmistress Kiara?" Raven went into her office quickly as possible. She hoped Kiara was there so Raven can tell her the terrible news.

Kiara very nearly ran into Raven, "Raven, Merlin.... come in, come in, Dementors I assume?" She asked ushing to the Slytherin inside.

"Yes! A student has been attacked right now, luckily I was there to protect her. But right now shes unconscious at the moment." Raven explained trying to keep herself calm. "If you come with me I can show you were she is."

Kiara nodded, and summond a bar of chocolate and took out her wand.

"Alright lets go" she said quickly locking her office.

Pointing her wand in front of her she said "Expecto Patrunum!"

A Tigeress bounded out of her wand.

Raven nodded and walked quickly to the halls.

*Continued from Transfiguration's Office*

Not truly caring if students saw him or not, Horatio carried Eglantine up to Kiara's office door, shooed the gargoyle aside and soon pushed her office door open.

"Look what I finally caught!" He laughed, ignoring Eglantine's weak attempts to have him put her down. "A little kitty-cat."

"Honestly, Horatio." Eglantine hissed, smiling despite herself. "Ignore him, Kiara, he's been touched."

"Ah, but only by an angel's love." Horatio came back, causing Eglantine to blush. "We're getting married, Kiara!" He practically shone with joy.

Kiara's mouth droped at Horatios anounsment, and then she beamed and swiftly went over to the happy couple. "Oh Horatio Eglantine, Congratuations! I am so happy for you" she said hugging both of them.

She looked at Horatio, "So I guess you are gonna be my Step Dad after you two finally tie the not yes?" she asked smiling.
