My Office

Eglantine almost crawled out from underneath the desk. She understood what Professor Viper was going though, at least better than the Headmistress did. But the contempt that the younger woman would no doubt lavish on her attempt to help stayed her behind the desk.

"And the things my Uncle said made lots of sense..."

Kiara began to look fearful she didn't like where this was going one bit.

"Your not thinking of joining him are you!? Great things? no he does terrible things. and only gives the illusion of power, when he really takes it"

As kiara said all this she rubbed her arm, the mark was still stinging letting her know it was there.

Viper glared. "You don't understand, do you? My MANOR has been taken out of my control! A manor I have been takeing care of ever since I was 7! They have tightened the wards against it so much that only the Purest can pass through! Not even Professor Delanquar can go through and she was a Malfoy!"

Kiara raised her eye brow.

"Then who may I ask can get in to your manor with out bleeding to death?"

" It is strange.... you know your right I don't understand. I DON'T UNDERSTAND Why the "Pure" blooded families flock to a deranged, homicidal maniac! Who ironically isn't even close to a pure blood himself. Does someone open your blood barriers for him? Your right I don't understand at all!!"

((Yes Kiara is now officially in a rage))

Viper stiffened. "I don't know! All I know is what my family has told me."

(lol, dont worry, you got the point)

Kiara sighed, arguing with Viper was so.. so difficult ((really it is))

"Other then giving you a "convincing" argument to join Voldemort, what else did they tell you. and another thing how can ghosts of your family change your blood barriers?"

Viper sighed. "I don't know. I truly don't. I was under the impression that after my grandfather passed that I was in control of Viper Manor, but apparently when the Ministry seized my Department, they also seized my Manor, relinquishing my control over it, claiming that I couldn't handle Viper Manor's powers. They tampered with the documents, changed the wills and..." she paused, taking a deep breath as she uttered the final words of doom. "And passed it unto my sister." with a disdainful look, she added. "My blood betraying. disowned sister."

(Edit: Sorry, I wanted to change it since it kinda seemed too similar with merci's happenings. Plus I thought of something else to do.)

" I thought you were the last of the Viper family? and who was in charge of the relinquishing your manor? They need much better ground of retaking a manor like yours."

((Sorry if I am a little slow tonight, I had a all nighter doing homework, so I am a little out of it at the moment))

Eglantine stretched as she was stiff from sitting still and began to limp pace to a from one side of the inside of the desk to the other.

Viper scoffed. "Half the people in the Ministry are my sworn enemies. Merlin knows my family put a dent in their own family trees. Do you really think they need a legitimate reason, other than the fact that they wished I were dead. And as for the matter of the Viper family, I am the last of the clan. At least, in my family's eyes...The bloodtraitior was much older than I was. I was 4 when my grandfather disowned her and she was 15. I haven't seen her since. I doubt she even knows she controls Viper Manor, which is probably how it was so easily infiltrated."

(I am so SORRY for signing in but then vanishing in the middle of RPs. My computer really is kinda dinky, not to mention its my last week of school before spring break and all my grades are on the border between an A and a B.)

Sighing again, Kiara asked.

"So what are you going to do about it then? "

Viper sighed. "The Ministry has made me a rather generous offer. I serve as a spy in Voldemort's ranks, provide them with information, and they'll restore my department. As for my Manor, I have yet to decide what my next course of action shall be. As I have said, it is in her control, despite her ignorance."

Kiara eyes shifted to Severus Snape's portrait, apparently she wasn't the only one who saw someone familiar inside the young potions Mistress. He was staring at her with interest.

Turning back to Viper she asked.

"Are you going to do it?"

Viper looked at Kiara, suprised that she would even ask such a thing. "Kiara, my department was my life. If this is the only way to get it back then yes, I will."

Kiara nodded.

"Very well Then I am right in guessing there is no way I can talk you out of it. So I am not even going to try. So are you going to follow further in Severus Snape's foot steps and stay on at Hogwarts? or do I need to find another Potions Master?"

Viper raised an eyebrow. "Why of course I shall remain at Hogwarts. Who else could you recruit to replace me?"

"No body at the moment.. that is why I asked, although being a spy can be very unpredictable. Voldemort could call you away at anytime and you would have no choice but to go. I may need to fine someone to sub for you when you are away"

Then a though came to her.

"Great Voldemort will be happy, he will have someone to spy on yet another Head of hogwarts" she as she winked at Viper.

"Don't worry I'll give you enough gossip for Voldemort to sink his fangs into"

Eglantine tried not to listen to the conversation as soon as it began to become secret. Why hadn't she left? she thought. Of course, she hadn't really been given the choice.
Muttering a spell, the cream tabby disappeared and was replaced with her human form. Thankful that she was small enough to fit under the desk, Eglantine made herself invisible with another muttered incantation and slipped from the office.
The last words she heard before exiting were "spy on", and it truthfully did little to comfort her.

Viper smiled. "As long as it is not gossip regarding my family, what care would I have? But really, Kiara, you know I am very attached to some of my Slytherins. Who would you have in mind to replace me?"

Kiara smiled she had someone in mind, though she wasn't sure if she was available or not.

"I'll have to do some digging first, potion master's are hard to find now a days. but if worst came to worst I could take the class. Don't worry I am decent at them, the potion I used to heal your wrist is my own creation. And your Slytherins will be well taken care of I promise"

"By whom, exactly? My Slytherins are a very...special group, and require utmost care and attention." Viper stifened. "It won't be Professor Delanquar, will it?"

Kiara shock her head.

"No I won't have Professor Delanquar teach your class, there is already enough animosity between you two, I will not add to it. And as I said i don't know who will be on call for your class yet, so we will see. If I need to take the class I have to treat all students the same.

Viper shook her head, pleased with her employer's decision. "Very well, Kiara. If you'll excuse me, I must return to my chambers."

"Of course.... Good night Viper"

Once Viper left Kiara turned to Snape's Portrait. She knew Eglentine was not in the room as she has felt her leave office.

"Well out with it Sev I know you probably have a few comments to make"

"I certainly hope you don't trust very single word the woman said"

Kiara shock her head.

"No Sev don't worry I not that naive, She has done little to prove she is trust worthy, but I will give her a chance to prove her self, we will see how it goes from there"
