Defense Office

Hermione glared at Viper as she walked over to Eglantine.

"Can you provide proof of his identity?"

Kiara glared.

"Really Miss Granger this is getting old, there is no Tom Riddle here for the last time"

Viper stepped in front of Eglantine. "Such as what? A DNA test? That is a highly invasive test, Hermione. You better have one helll of a reason to explain yourself to the Wizengamot!"

Edwin whimpered, wrapping his arms around Eglantine's neck.
"Hungry, Mama!" he muttered. "Bread?" Eglantine tightened her hold on him.
"Hush." she murmured. Goodness, Edwin's eyes were identical to her own and even his facial features screamed that he was closely related to her.
"Here." Eglantine pulled a folded piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to the woman. It was a muggle birth certificate.

Viper shook her head in disapproval. "Really, Hermione! How would it be if it was a regualr occurence to ask for a proof of identity, especially if it was a DNA test!" she laughed slightly as a thought hit her. "Although a DNA test would be highly unnecessary to find the paternity of Lavender Brown's offspring."

Leaning towards Eglantine she whispered loud enough for all to hear. "Psst. They all have red hair." she winked.

Hermione shoot a death glare at Viper and her hand started to shake with anger, then she looked over the birth certificate in her hands.

"This can not be correct his father died long before he could have been concieved.

Viper raised an eyebrow. "What's your point?"

Kiara rolled her eyes, Viper was having entirely to much fun.

Hermione looked at Viper as if her had lost her head.

"Surely you can recall how babies are made, the boy's father died over a decade ago. Ten years before he was born"

Viper rolled her eyes. "Magic, Hermione! You know, spells, potions..."

"A far as I am aware there is no potion that can create children...."

Stopping she looked at the child again as if trying to make up her mind about something.

"I am afraid the child will have to come with me"

At this Kiara joined Viper standing in front of Eglantine.

"Try it Granger and I will banish you from these grounds so fast you won't be able to say your own name"

Viper sighed in annoyance. "See, this is what happens when you get rid of a valuable department. You miss out on important discoveries, like new potions."

She paused, keeping one hand beside her wand underneath her cloak in case things went rocky.

"Professor Delanquar's child was conceived via Parvalus Vita It's a potion I designed for people experiencing difficulty conceiving. Both male and female essences are place into the potion, where conception will take place. After that, the potion now containing the conceived zygote is placed into an aritificial womb where it may be monitored and cared for until it is ready to be born, protected by the potion itself and additional charms. Then, nine months later when it's ready to be born, the charms are lifted, the potion drained, and a bouncing baby is all ready."

She smirked. "Did I speak slow enough for you to comprehend what I was saying? Or should I speak slower so my words may make it through your thick head?"

Hermione stared at Viper pure anger in her eyes.

Flicking her wand a peice of parchment floated to over to Viper.

"It is a fine of 2000 galleons for producing and experinenting with a unapproved potion" she said coldly.

Turning back to Eglantine and the child, she said "You have no choice, as order of the ministy you must come with me. He will not be harmed"

"And if I refuse?" Eglantine asked, refusing to allow the younger woman to intimidate her. "Will you have me killed or oblivated?"

Viper stared at the parchment incredulously. "What the hell?!?!? Sweet Circe! You know most witches and wizards get money for creating brilliant potions. They don't get fined!" she hissed, crumpling the parchment and throwing it at Hermione's face.

Turning to Eglantine, she added. "You have every right to refuse. You're his mother. She has no grounds over Edwin."

Hermione reached or her wand "You will be arrested for refusing to cooperate"

"Expelliarmus!" Kiara yelled disarming the other women.

"Do that and I will stand with her as her defense, I have defeated you in court before Granger I will do it again. Or have you forgotten you were defeated by a rookie auror?"

Viper fought a laugh as she withdrew her wand, creating a few shileding spells around Edwin and Eglantine. She turned to face Hermione with a smirk.

"Very well." Eglantine stated, stepping closer to Kiara. "If you will allow my son to be placed in the Headmistress's custody, I am willing to be arrested." She placed Edwin into Kiara's arms and laid her wand down on the floor.

"No, no. You've done nothing wrong. Hermione doesn't even have a warrant for anything! This is multiple violations of Wizarding Rights!" Viper exclaimed with disgust and venom dripping from her voice.

"What? Eglantine? what are you doing, she has no legal grounds to do this you don't have to go with her, she is just to afraid to admit to the ministry she made a mistake" said Kiara as she balanced Edwin to one side who already screaming for his mother to come back.

Viper bit her lip, contemplating her next move. If she carried on her plan, Hermione would forget about Eglantine and go for her instead. After all, Hermione always wanted a reason to arrest her and would weep with joy at this opportunity. It would be like losing aknut and finding a galleon for her. But if Hermione went for Viper.....Viper sighed. "Professor Delanquar better be really nice to me after this." she thought to herself.

Waving her hand, Viper exclaimed "Bombardo Maxima!", hitting Hermione right in the face, waiting for her inevitable arrest for assaulting a ministry official.

Eglantine stepped forward and accioed her wand in a fluid motion.
"Obliverate!" she cried, aiming the spell at Hermione forehead.

Kiara looked at Hermione Granger on the ground, she didn't stand a chance.

Looking over at Viper and Eglantine, she said " you two are scary together you know that?"

Handing Edwin back to Eglantine she woke Hermione up.

"Wha what happened?"

"Oh thank goodness you are alright Mrs Weasley you just fainted" said Kiara in a overly cheery voice.

"I did?"

"Yes and you were just leaveing to tell the ministry it was a big misunderstanding and nothing to worry about"

"I was?"

Kiara nodded again, she was not finished yet.

"Oh and you were going to tell them about Miss Amaranth Vipers ingenius new potion that can help couples have children and that she should get a big reward for it. Also there never will be a Tom Riddle at hogwarts"

"Oh thats right, thank you Headmistress Kiara you have been most helpful I will be going now"

Trying not to laugh kiara waved Hermione farewell.

"Have a nice day Mrs. Weasley"

Viper nodded, impressed at Kiara's quick thinking. "Looks like this is a win win situation for everyone."

She stared at Kiara and Eglantine with a smile. "You know, I wasn't lying about her husband cheating on her with lavender. Honest! All her offspring have red hair!"

"Hilarious, Professor." Eglantine stated, taking Edwin back. "That was ingenious, Headmistress. Let's hope that the aurors outside don't question her though."

Viper shrugged. "Why would it matter? I know their secrets too!" she turned to Kiara. "Did you know that Dawlish was gay?"

Kiara laughed and had a glint in her eyes almost worthy of a shytherin (almost)

"Viper my dear half those aurors outside served under me for 4 for more years, I bet I know somethings about them even you don't"
