Forbidden Forest

Horatio nodded, pulling out his wand. His eyes moved about the forest, carefully scanning for any movement.

Kiara ventured closeer to the old unicorn.

Finally reaching it she lead it away from the herd...

Tears were sreaming down her face, as closer she came to have to do this the worse she felt. It was so trusting

Looking in to the animals eyes she allowed it to see her remorse.

"Forgive me, but.... but...... I must" she said quietly.

Then she did it quickly and as painlessly as possible. The blade struch the base of the neck and head. Making it fall asleep almost instintly as it died.

Kiara went down with the animal as it died, and she sobbed as she took a vile from her rodes and filled it with the pure blood of the unicorn.

Horatio was careful to watch around them, but couldn't help from gazing at the dead unicorn. In his eyes, Charles had killed it; not Kiara. She was only trying to protect everyone. Yes, he mused, Charles was to blame...

(lol blame everything on Charles)

Putting a lid on the Vial of silverly blood, Kiara removed the dagger from the now dead unicorn.

With shaky hands she washed the blade of the blood with a water charm and her hands as well. She never throught she would be washing her hands of Unicorn blood.... never.

Looking at the unicorn agian she whispered "Forgive me"

Then she reached down and touched the dead creature lightly in the head. Before fire traving away for about 10 seconds...

When she came back the unicorn was gone.

Clenching the veil in her hand she walked back over to Horatio.

"W..we should go.... the centuars will be here soon" she whispered as a tear coursed its way down her face.

Horatio wiped away the single tear with his hand. "Yes, Kiara." he murmured, wrapping a comforting arm around her shoulders. Together they made their way back toward the castle.

As they walked back Kiara sighed and handed the unicorn blood to Horatio.

"Thank you for your help today Horatio, not sure I could have done it if you hadn't been there, but for now I need to see Ethan...."

She said as she went to turn around.

"Oh and Horatio, if Eglantine asks tell her not to worry to much... I'll get over it" she said after a moment.

"I would rather it was me then her for once" she said as she headed toward the green houses.

Horatio nodded. "You are welcome, my dear. And I will tell her that. Try to rest sometime." he requested, looking after her.

Kiara nodded as she walked away "I will try" she said as she glanced back at him, before continuneing on her quest.

Horatio headed out until he came across Eglantine, muttering the incantation with was creating an unseen line around Hogwarts.

Not wanting to frighten her by appearing out of nowhere, he began to whistle and made a bit of noise as he approached.

Alerted, Eglantine turned in her wheel chair, smiling softly at him.

"Almost done, my dear?" he asked. She nodded.

"Yes, then we can make the potion and create the ash weave." she sighed.

Kiara sighed as she made her way over to Eglantine and Horatio, she had alot of the words around the school on high alert until she ash weave was made, after gathering the wood and turning them to ashes they now hung in little potches in her rodes.

"Is the line almost finished Eglantine?" she asked tiredly as she came into their hearing range of normal speach.

Eglantine and Horatio both turned to look at Kiara's approaching figure. "It is finished. All we need are the final ashes." Eglantine replied. Several vials were laid out on the mossy earth: the nymph blood, the moon beam, the unicorn blood and the yew ash. There was no line that could be seen.

Kiara nodded and removed the ashes form rodes.

"They are right here" she said as she handed the potches over, "They are all there, "she said.

Horatio took the pouches and poured their contents out onto the ground beside the neat pile of yew ash. Then he stepped a good ten meters away from Eglantine, taking Kiara with him. "I always like watching this." he murmured. "Ash weaves are amazing to watch when they are created."

Kiara blinked, A mild bit if interest entered her mind "Oh? I have never seen one being cast before" she said. Her breath could be seen in the air as she watched Eglantine preform the old branch of magic.

Horatio nodded, folding his arms over his chest.

Eglantine had levitated herself to kneel on the ground. She began to whisper a soft incantation over the ashes and the bloods and the moon beam. They each began to glow.

"Nex dico cinis cineris of silenti etc custodio victus.
Vita dico threads of ornus ex silenti etc.
Una they vadum weave casses of ornus ut vadum tutela is orbis."

((Translation- Death calls the ashes of the dead to guard the living. Life calls the threads of ash from the dead. Together they shall weave a net of ash that shall guard this circle.))

Slowly the ashes began to float and within moments they melded into a single cloud that whirled around Eglantine. The vials cracked open and the blood coloured the ashes. The moon beam disappeared to glow briefly amid the ash.

"Harken at 'm lais!" ((Harken to my voice))

Eglantine pulled a dagger from her robe's pocket and cut it deeply into the ground about her, carving a arch in front of her. The freshly turned dirt joined the swirling ash about her. The colour was now a deep silver.

Several minutes passed as Eglantine repeated the incantation again and again switching several times from Latin to Greek to Gaelic and then back to Latin. Finally the ash exploded in a large flash of a leaping unicorn and tendrils of darkness encircled the entire castle for a blink of an eye. Then it was over.

Kiara breathed out a the spectical Horatio had been right, it was amazing to witness, and it was a rather impressive bit of magic as well.

Dispite all the stress and pain she had been through that day, she still managed to find it beautiful.

"You are right Horatio, thats amazing.." she said as she walked closer to Eglantine.

Horatio smiled and followed after Eglantine. "Lovely job, my dear." he exclaimed, pushing her wheelchair forward for her to levitate into. She nodded, her eyes slightly cloudy. Shaking her head, she sighed.
"It should hold, Kiara." she stated, softly. "I tied it into my life force. So as long as I am living, it should hold."

Kiara nodded "Very well done Eglantine, at least this is one thing I don't have to worry so much over now, Thank you..." she said. She had notied the clouded look in her eyes, but she figured she was just tired out form the spell.

"We should be getting back inside it is rather chilly" she said with a shiver.

Eglantine nodded, her wheelchair hovering along as they made their way back toward the castle. Her eyes cleared after a few minutes and she sighed softly. "You are welcome, my dear." she replied.

Deep within the forbidden forest lies creatures like no other. The darkest, fearful creatures that would make muggles die out of fright. But the most foulest creature that lurks within the forest are the dementors that takes every happy moment away from the area, even to humans. They can serve the most worse death anyone can amagine, the dementor's kiss. They take your soul away making your body a souless puppet. Do you dare come near them and preform a patronus charm to scare them off? Think wisely before facing them or you will have unhappy thoughts once you get away from them.

The forest was swarming with the dementors making sure there wasn't any criminals around that escaped Azkaban. The hooded figures hovered everywhere looking at every inch of the forest including the front of the school.

Viper wandered through the Forest with her dagger held in her hand, and her wand on her other, illuminating the pathway. Earlier that day one of her first years had felt the need to not listen to her explicit instructions regarding the athelas plant, and therefore had, at some point down the line, managed to ignite her entire pouch of the weed, leaving her athelas supply cleaned out.

It was rather chilly outside so Viper tightened the dark cloak around her and hurried along. She had no wish to remain outside, particularly in the heart of the forest, more than necessary.

Upon seeing the familiar plant a few feet away, Viper quickly hurried to it, opening a phial from within her robes and cutting a few leaves off. As she was cutting, however, a different, icier chill swept over her, followed by an unusual feeling, not unlike that of dread and unexplainable sorrow.

Feeling another prescence not all that far away, Viper quickly scanned the area, searching for the source of the dark aura, trying to ignore the carious voices from her memories from chanting in her mind.

A few dementors started to surround Viper making the ground and air icy cold. They hovered over the area making it unhappy as possible. They then started sucking out the happiness within Viper.
