The Great Hall

Kiara shook her head.

"No all she told me was "Our name has cursed us for so long, but just this once, they have saved him" How did he escape Baron? what did she mean? I know you know"

If the Baron could have sighed, he would have sighed then. Deciding that it would be best the Headmistress knew, he proceeded. "Very well, but you must not let Amaranth or Dracovan know that it was I who told you, for what I am about to tell you is a long dead secret of the Viper's." pausing, he wondered how to begin.

"Have you ever wondered why their last name is Viper? The whole clan has been on U.K. soil for centuries so it isn't particularly native..."

Kiara shook her head "I never really though about it. Last name like any other old pure blood family. I assume that isn't the case?"

"No." Baron shook his head. "Have you perhaps noticed Dracovan and Amaranth's eyes? Strange shade of green that fade..."

Kiara nodded at this she did notice that Viper's eyes change shades.

"But what there eyes have to do with their name?"

"The Vipers are a very..unique clan. or were, I suppose, seeing as how the clan is near extinction. Their eyes: emerald green that fade to grey in fury are referred to as serpent eyes. Simply put, the Viper's are a long line of snake charmers. Those with the 'serpent eyes' have very special gifts when dealing with snakes. Males are born with a gene that allows them to take the form of a snake, without ever needing to be an animagi. Females are natural snake queens, able to speak Parseltongue, bend any snake to their will." Baron stated, hoping that Kiara would pick up the hint on Dracovan's snake forming ability with his current state.

Kiara nodded again "I see, that is how Dracovan escaped then, my my more and more Slytherin by the day it seems"

Looking back at the Baron she said.

"Thank you for telling me Baron, I own you one and don't worry I won't tell her you told me, but I wouldn't surprised if she figures it out. Could you tell where she might have gone when she is angry? Call me crazy but I need to convince her I don't mean to threaten her or her brother"

Baron shrugged. "I'd say the lake but now its a death sentence for her. Your best bet would be her chambers." he said as he glided to his own direction.

Kiara nodded and headed for the direction to the dungons.

"Thanks Baron"

Casey was at Hufflepuff table having breakfast when the deliver owl she had sent away the day earlier arrived with the ingrediants for her illusion potion.

"Great I can get started soon" she said happily as she paid the bird and relived it of its burden.

((This is the day after forbidden forest))

Kiara tiredly sat at the staff table and poured her self a black coffee, to walk her self up and give her a little energy for the day a head.

Leaning back in her chair Kiara tried to ignore the nagging ache in her shoulder.

"Today is going to be a long day"

Viper took her seat nearby the Headmistress in the Great Hall and greeted politely. "Good Morning, Kiara." but then noticing her appearance, she added. "Blimey, what happened to you?"

Kiara opened an eye and said

"What didn't happen yesterday..? Had stop Eglantine form haveing a mental break down. Who runs deep into the forbidden forest"

Kiara decided to leave the I found her dead part out, that would be Eglantine's department.

"Well I find her when we are heading back to hogwarts, get this we encounter a friggen full grown mountain troll. You can imagine how well that went. So I can't use this arm for at least 2 weeks so to do magic at all it has to be wandless. Which is getting a little drainning. Oh and the ward around the lake it weakening... Happy day..."

Viper raised an eyebrow. "Is that why the little tot got pawned off on me?" she inquired, having been woken up to an empty bed and a note from Eglantine.

Kiara nodded,

"Yes it took a while to get back to hogwarts, and both me and Eglantine were injured."

Kiara paused still think what Juria said the night before that Eglantine could still be in danger of internal bleeding.

"If you are with Eglantine today could you keep an eye on her? She has a dreadful habit of saying she is fine when she is not."

Viper choked on her goblet. "Headmistress, the woman seems as though she can hardly even bare my presence when it is necesssary. Do you truly think she won't mind me following her around, spying on her?"

Kiara sighed "Not what I meant, only if you see her today thats all. Besides I already warned her I would be keeping an eye on her. I swear she is going to give me my first grey hair., She worries me so much"

Viper raised an eyebrow, fighting the urge to laugh. "As you wish, Kiara. However I doubt she'll be very pleased to have everyone hovering around her."

((Goodnight! I'll be off now.))

Kiara smiled,

"Who is everyone? and I am not asking you to follow her ever step, no she will lose it if you do that. But thanks"

Viper nodded. "Very well. But I doubt it's going to be of any use. She'll probably have cast glamour charms on herself by now." she smiled in an amused manner. "You know, I have a very hard time distinguishing which is it of you two who plays mother to the other. I suppose its a parental partnership between you two?"

Kiara blushed, "Err.. It wouldn't be that way if she wouldn't keep on hurting herself and then trying to hide it, up until the point she collapeses. Besides worrying and protecting people I care about is in my nature. I can't help it. As for Eglantine, she is a natural born mother, not at all like my mother so it is a welcome change"

"Aw, so all those times you came healing me was because you cared about me? How touching!" Viper smirked, the corners of her mouth twitching.

Kiara raised an eye brow, she was no mother to this slytherin no never happen, she care about her as a human being and respected her greatly for who she was. But not the close firend type thing she had with Eglantine

"Viper did really expect me to just let you bleed to death?"

Viper shrugged, keeping her eyes on her goblet as she swished the crimson liquid around. "Half the Ministry would. Why would I expect anything else here at Hogwarts?"she scoffed. "Especially here at Hogwarts."

Kiara blinked "Why especially here at hogwarts?"
