The Great Hall

((lol, I don'tmean to godderate, but I think it would be really funny if at some point towards the end, Hermione fines Viper a crazy sum like 1500 galleons for performing her potions experiment))

Diana walked into the Great Hall, spotted Helena, and sat down besides her. "I'm starving... aren't you?" Diana said.

Helena raised an eye brow. "You're acting odd lately, you know that?"

An ordinary barn owl soared into the Great hall. Ana looked up from her food. It was an odd time for post. The Gryffindor Prefect seemed to be the one recieving this note, and Ana couldn't help feeling suspiscious.
As if she wasn't already suspiscious enough, with Darien and his strange disappearances.
She snapped her mind back to the present and noticed the owl had landed at the Gryffindor table. She also realised something important.
It was her owl.
And the only idiot stupid enough to use her owl was...Darien.
She pushed her bowl away, grabbed her bag and got ready to follow Diana.

"Odd?" Diana said. "What do you mean?"

"Oh, you disappear for lengths of time, it seems like your always daydreaming..." Helena frowned. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Yes yes of course," Diana said absentmindedly.

"Diana - "Helena started. But suddedenly, an Owl arrived at their table. "What are you doing here you silly bird?"

It wooted happily. "Diana do you know this owl?"

Diana was about to say 'no' when she saw the handwritting on it. It was Darien's. "Yes!"

She quickly grabbed the letter before Helena could touch it. "It's from my.... Aunt..." Diana lied quickly. "From Spain..."

She read the letter, blushed and stood up.

"Oi! Where are you going?" Helena said. "I thought you were hungry?"

"I..." Diana looked at the owl, at the letter, at her empty plate and thought fast. "Auntie Carla wants an answer right away. I'll just see you in the Common Room later."

Helena nodded. "Okay..." Her friend was acting very odd indeed.

Diana left the Great Hall. Little did she know, Helena trailed behind her.

((TO the Potions classroom! Haha.))

Ana noticed the Gryffindor's friend trailing behind her. Stupid Gryffindors, she cursed. She headed into the shadow, cast a disillusionment and followed the follower.
This had better be good.
And Darien had better not be befriending Gryffindors...
But he wouldn't...Would he?

Disillustioned, Helena headed back to the Great Hall.

'What in the world was up with Diana?'

Ana was annoyed. In fact, she was in an incredibly violent mood.
Her brother was stealing her owl to talk to a Gryffindor! There was something hideously wrong with that. Slytherin and Gryffindors are not meant to do that sort of thing.
She noticed Diana's friend at her table and changed direction wthout fully deciding to.
"What are you up to?" Ana demanded, holding onto her wand in her pocket.

"My your own business Slytherin." Helena said annoyed.

"This is my business. If it involved my family, I make it my business. What are you trying to do to Darien?"

"Darien? Who the heck is Darien? What in the world are you talking about?" Helena said getting more annoyed at the Slytherin by the second. She was spewing out madness.

Ana rolled her eyes. "Don't act dense! My brother Darien! What are you and your little friend planning to do to him?!"
She pulled out her wand and held it by her side, in a threatening manner.

"I don't even know who your brother is! Yet alone plan something concerning him!" With the Slytherin's wand out, Helena snatched hers out as well.

"If you don't know who he is, why does your friend get notes from him?" She glared at the Gryffindor, wondering why she wasn't gloating.
Maybe she didn't know any more than Ana did...

"Notes from him?" Helena spat. "Diana isn't getting notes from anyone from Slytherin. What are you talking about?"

Ana raised an eyebrow.
"Didn't you notice an owl just arrived? Are you Gryffindors that unobservant? That owl was mine! And the only person who would dare to use it without my permission is my brother. Therefore the note must have been from him! That is what I'm talking about!"

"What? Diana told me that was from her Spanish Aunt..." Helena drifted off. Diana wouldn't lie to her... would she?

So the gryffindor Prefect had lied?
But why?
The girl looked too confused to be lying.
"Oh yes, and her spanish aunt just happens to have my owl."
Ana waved her wand and the owl that had delivered the note appeared and landed on her outstretched arm.
"Voila. My owl." She storked the bird and pointed her wand at Diana's empty seat.
"Your friend lied to you." But why? Ana added in her head.

Helena was rather annoyed at the Slytherin girl but she was more concerned with the problem at hand. It was the owl that she had seen earlier. That meant that Diana did lie. Unless of course her Spanish aunt knew the Vaights and decided to borrow this Vaight's owl and... it was just too silly to be true.

"She wou...." Helena was going to defend her friend but the facts were undeniable. She needed a serious heart to heart with her friend. "But... why would your brother send an owl to Diana?"

Ana rolled her eyes.
"I don't know...If you recall that is why we are having this... conversation. But I intend to find out, and if you're smart you won't get in my way."

Helena couldn't believe that Diana would lie to her. She shook her head.

"Vaight," Helena said standing up. There was determination on her face. "Leave Casillas to me."

Ana smiled, a fake sweet grin.
"That almost sounded like a Slytherin for a moment...Maybe you lot aren't as pathetic as I thought. Don't worry, I won't hurt your friend...yet."
She turned and walked a few paces, before turning back to face Helena.
"But if she harms my brother, I shall have no choice. I will not risk my family's reputation by sparing her."
She turned and left the hall, owl perched on her shoulder and wand in her hand.

"Don't worry Vaight," Helena turned the other direction. "Casillas won't be spared."

((later on - after the potions lab thing...))

Ana stormed into the great hall, to where Darien was sat on a bench at the Slytherin table. She grabbed him by the arm.
"Ana what are you-"
She forcibly dragged him over to the Gryffindors, two in particular.
"You shall see."

Diana and Helena were sitting next to each other. There seemed to be a silence between them that was broken when they saw two Slytherins approach.

"What are they doing here?" Helena said.

"Alright." Ana glared at Darien and Diana.
"I want answers... now. Why have you," she pointed at Darien, "been sending notes using my owl, to her?" she pointed at the Gryffindor prefect. "I thought I'd explained the whole Slytherin versus Gryffindor thing! Why are you two friends?!"
Darien thought quickly. "We're not. I don't befriend Gryffindors!" He looked quickly at Diana, trying to tell her his plan using only a glance.
