Diagon Alley

"I fell." Eglantine responded. Strangely she felt no magic pulsing through her body, just waiting for her to channel it into a purpose. Her wand in her hands sent out a brief spark and then she dropped it. "Kiara, please help me!"

Kiara opened to door and with a wave of her hand cast a levitation charm on her.

"Eglantine I think I should tell you of another handy property in your Birthday present, it has a emergancy magic reserve, just for you, for this exact reason " she said with a sighed.

"And if you were low on magic why didn't you say something? you didn't have come in and change Eglantine. I understood"

Eglantine calmed greatly as Kiara levitated her from the ground. "No, Kiara." she whispered. "It went dead. I can't feel it any longer." Eglantine pointed a finger at her wand, gasping softly as it began to shake. Within moments, the wood disintegrated into white ash. Looking up, Eglantine regained her magical control wandlessly and leaned back heavily against the wall.

Kiara stared at the wand in shock, "What the.... why did it... do that?" she said.

Looking over at Eglantine she asked "Eglantine this wouldn't anything to do with a certain other wand now would it" she asked quietly.

Eglantine blinked, staring at the ash. She could vividly remember her father and mother taking her to get her wand. The terrible trouble she had had with so many different choices and then the wonderful joy that had filled her when her lovely wand had chosen her.
"Yes, Excessum must desire to be my wand." she replied. "I am done shopping. Would you help me with the back?" at that moment, she desired nothing more than to fall into her bed and fade into oblivion. She had just lost her wand of 45 years and knew the embodiment of death desired to replace it.
"I will buy the dress though." Eglantine muttered. "You did say he would like it." she smiled softly.

Kiara nodded and she helped with the back, then she place her hand on her friends shoulder.

"I am sorry about your wand Eglantine, I really am, I will try to help with this as much as I can. I promise.." she said sincerly.

"And yes Horatio will absolutly love the dress, I am sure of it" she said with a small simle.

"If you need anything I will be right outside" siad Kiara as she steped out.

Eglantine nodded, levitating her robes back over her head and smoothing them out over her body. Thankfully, Kiara had not seemed to have notice the angry red scars on her arms and back. Levitating the gown behind her, she exited the changing area.

"I will be returning to Hogwarts now." she muttered. A saleswoman took the dress to wrap it and Eglantine settled back into her wheelchair. She had put the ash that remained of her wand into a vial and slipped it into her robes. As soon as she returned, she would begin a detailed search as to how it dissolved.

Viper emerged from the dressing room dressed in her own attire and looked around, noticing the changes. "What happened here?" she asked Juria.

Juria raised her shoulders as to say, "I'm not really sure" but then also added,

"I’m not really sure... it happened too fast and out of my knowledge... I wasn’t paying attention."

Juria knew something had happened with the other professor, but she knew the Headmistress had it under control.

"Still looking for a dress Professor Viper?"

Viper glared half-heartedly. "Riight. And I'm a Gryffindor cheerleader...whatever." she shrugged. "No, I'm content with this one. Have you found anything?"

Juria smiled at the response she got from the professor and then replied,

"No, not yet... I have a backup plan if I don’t find one but I am still looking."

Juria smiled, she had a nice dress for if it was a simple party, but not for a ball.

Viper glanced over at Juria, contemplating. "Lighter colors would work nice with your skin tone." she offered as she flipped through the racks, looking for another dress, not necessarily for the Yule Ball.

Juria nodded, agreeing.

"Thank you professor... I don’t really know too much when it comes to dresses but i know ill pick one out soon."

Juria had looked around briefly when Viper was in the changing room and she had seen nothing she wanted from this store, but still liking the cloths there she also flipped through the racks, just looking.

Wanting to make small talk Juria simply asked,

"So what’s going on around Hogwarts? I am normally cooped up in the Infirmary so I don’t know."

Viper shrugged. "Hard to say. What was the last thing you heard?"

Juria took her eyes of the clothes and looked up at the Professor.

"Well I know about the underage witch in the tournament... and I also know there is a Yule ball coming up... but other than that I’m clueless"

Juria wondered what was happening with the underage witch that had entered; she hoped they would find someway to protect her.

Viper sighed. "Not much to add really, except snog fests plaguing Hogwarts." she replied with a laugh.

She raised an eyebrow at Juria. "You know you don't have to stay in the Infirmary all the time. You are free to leave whenever you want." Viper replied, not quite understanding why Juria rarely left the infirmary.

Juria laughed at the tone Viper used in keeping Juria up to date. Then replying to the professor she said,

"I want to make sure that if anyone comes to the Infirmary that I’m there to help them... and besides... I don’t really fit in anywhere else yet."

Juria smiled at the Professor.

Viper shrugged. "No one fits in anywhere. That's what makes us all fit in."

Juria nodded, agreeing with Viper's logic.

"I guess I should start making myself known more around Hogwarts... I love it there… is my home."

Juria hoped that the way she said it didn’t give the Professor the feeling that she had no other home but Hogwarts.

Viper raised an eyebrow. There was something odd in the way Juria said that..."You don't have a home outside of Hogwarts?"

Juria mentally kicked herself; apparently she had said it in the way.

"Um... well... what do you classify as home?"

Juria asked, trying to sidestep the question.

"Well how do you classify Hogwarts as home?" she countered.

Juria smiled and said,

"Well Hogwarts has taught me and also cared for me... that is why I call it my home."

"And nothing else in your life equals that?"

Juria made short little jerks with her head moving from side to side saying a "No". Since Professor Viper was smart she might come to the conclusion that either her parents had died or she hated them and ran away. Juria hoped that the professor wouldn’t come to the conclusion that she had been kicked out due to… misfortunate events of being with a certain party.
