Diagon Alley

As Viper went to the fitting room Kiara turned to Eglantine.

"Hmm did you know Ciaran will escorting me to the Yule ball?" she asked.

Eglantine raised an eyebrow. "Oh? How lovely." She sounded rather tired, but a smile lit her face nonetheless.
"So you get on well with him?"

Kiara nodded "Yes, and we so much in common.... it is almost like it was planned... that way" she said with a smile.

"hmmm you sound tired, everything alright ?" Kiara asked.

"Planned? What are you talking about?" Eglantine asked, sounding genuinely baffled.
"I have not been sleep well. And then last night my cat had trouble. Nothing to worry about thought." she mumbled. As if to prove her statement, she reached into her robe pocket and pulled out a medium sized box with holes punched in the top. A bit of blue ribbon was tied around it and if one looked closely enough, it appeared to be...moving.

Kiara smiled in understanding "I do hope the mother and her babies are happy and healthy" Kiara said as she walked over to Eglantine.

"How many did she have? females? males?" she asked

"Three kittens, all females." Eglantine replied. Handing the box to Kiara, she smiled. "One of them is for you."

Kiara smiled as she took the box "Aww and you are going to make me choose?... umm"

Kiara stuck her hand in with the kittens, one seemed a bit skiddish and moved away frem her.

"Not enough spunk'

Then the over went to bit her finger.

Laughing kiara moved her fingure away.

Then the third one jumped on to her sleeve and climed up her sleeve.

kiara smiled at the adventureous little cat.

"I think she picked me... thank you my little friend" she said as she gently petted the kitten on the head.

Viper emerged from the fitting room wearing an emerald dress and moved towards the mirror beside Eglantine and Kiara, spinning around in front of it, observing her reflection and how the dress looked on her, rather nervously.

She raised an eyebrow at the appearance of kittens. "So that's why you were late. You were at Knockturn Alley!" Viper concluded, assuming the kittens had been smuggled.

"It seems as though she did." Eglantine stated, closing the box. "What are you going to name her?" Looking up at Viper, she sighed.
"No, my cat, Adoration had a litter of kitten a few weeks ago."

Kiara smiled as the kitten climed onto her her shoulder, "i will have to think about a name Eglantine, we will see"

She looked over at Viper,

"Viper that dress is gorgous on you. It's perfect" Kiara said honestly.

Despite the Headmistress's reassurances, Viper still twirled in front of the mirror in an out of character, self-conscious manner.

"I don't know..." she muttered as she eyed her reflection critically.

Eglantine decided she was hardly a good enough judge of clothing to offer advice. After all the extent of her clothes shopping was ordering new unmentionables at the end of each year. She had bought her entire wardrobe upon reentering the magical community, 9 years prior and had not even entered a store from that moment until just then.

"It does appear to suit you." she offered, hoping to be helpful.

Viper frowned at her reflection, still a bit self conscious. "Are you sure I'm not too pale? Perhaps I should go for a darker color..."

Juria wandered around the stores in Diagon Alley, getting various supplies. She stopped when she saw the professors in a store. Juria smiled and went into the store to greet them,

"Hello professors, oh Viper I love that dress, it looks amazing on you."

Juria commented at seeing the dress Viper was trying out.

At the voice, Viper turned and was mildly suprised to see Juria there. "Hello." she greeted pleasantly. "What brings you to Diagon Alley?"

She inquired as she re-entered the dressing room, intending to redress in her normal robes.

Juria smiled to herself, responding to Viper she said,

"Oh just picking up some different items, and maybe new clothes."

Juria smiled, and then questioned,

"Are you searching for a dress? That one looks great on you Viper."

From inside the dressing room, Viper replied. "Trying to search, more like. I don't know about this dress, its alot longer than the ones I'm used to. Not to mention I think I'm too pale from the color."

Juria smiled,

"Well if you cant find anything else, that one is great. It suits you very well, you dont look too pale."

Juria complemented her on the dress.

"It is it going to be for?" She then questioned.

Kiara laughed "She was asked to the yule ball coming up next mouth, we all are actually. I have already found mine."

Eglantine began to peruse the racks of dresses, carefully moving aside each dress with a wandless wind charm. Most of the gowns were sleeveless or had very thin straps...neither or which appealed to her. Almost certain that Viper had asked her once why she wore such conservative clothing, she sighed. Although Eglantine was 51 one years old; by muggle standards she only looked to be in her 30s. Of course there were the scars from potions gone wrong, duels, and accidents; but the main reason that she dressed to cover as much as possible, was that she strived to set an example for her students. Whether or not they could see her, Eglantine lived her life simply by setting up how she was going to do something and then followed through with said plan.

Raising an eyebrow at a cream gown with a full skirt, Eglantine levitated it off of the rack and turned it around, carefully weighing it. It showed a great deal too much of her arms and the back scooped to nearly halfway down. Still, she thought, fingering the soft material, Horatio would like it...

"Kiara, do you like this one?" she asked, without turning.

Kiara turned and examined the dress Eglantine found, it was a beauiful.

"It is Beautiful Dress Eglantine it would look wonderful on you"

Moving in closer she whispered "Horatio would love it to, I am sure of it"

"Do you want to try it on?" she asked.

Eglantine paled slightly. "I am not sure if I can." she muttered. "But you do like it?" she repeated not really asking a question more so than an affirmation. Glancing at the changing area, she sighed.

Kiara smiled and nodded in understanding "Yes Eglantine I do like, it would look perfect on ya" she said with a wink.

"Very well." she muttered, levitating out of her wheelchair and setting the kittens on the vacated seat. Hovering past Kiara, Eglantine entered the dressing room and closed the door. Taking a deep breath, she carefully slipped off her robes. The cream gown slid easily over her slender body and she did up the back with a wave of her wand. Then she opened her eyes to see her refection in the mirror.

She collapsed suddenly, the levitation charm failing. "Kiara!" she groaned, her voice high with panic.

Kiara's head jerked up when Eglantine called.

"Eglantine? What is wrong!?" although she had a feeling...

In a hushed tone she said by the door "Did you fall? are you alright" she asked worriedly.
