Diagon Alley

Kiara wondered down the street looking in to various shops looking a dress that would work for the yule ball.

With out much luck, she never was one for wearing dresses.

"Hmm I never thought it would be this hard...." she said to her self.

Viper exited the dress shop with a look of barely disguised disgust on her face as she thought of some of the dresses she had seen.

However, a small smile played on her face as she recognized one of the people in the crowd. "Hey Kiara. Have the others arrived yet?"

Kiara looked up and smiled over at Viper and shook her head, "No haven't seen them yet anyway" she answered.

" Have had any luck with getting a dress yet?" she asked.

Viper sighed. "Not at all. And I can't find any accessories if I don't know what the dress looks like. Have you?"

Kiara sighed "Not exactly no I haven't, been looking every where to, or maybe I am being to picky I am not sure."

She blushed for a second "Not exactly a fashion expert, or do I even know what Ciaran would like either" she said.

Really she felt like a teenager over again,.....

Viper smirked at Kiara's blush, although she didn't comment on it. After all, why would she? She was having similar thoughts about Sevastyan.

"Who's Ciaran?"

Kiara looked up, thats right, Viper hadn't met him yet.

She laughed, "Eglantine's and Horatio's attempt at match making"

She moved in closer and whispered, "But don't tell them I know it was them that set us up, they still think we are clueless. They are good though I will give them that, we have a lot in common"

Viper fought back a laugh as she imagined the two older Professor whispering to each other, plotting to set Kiara up with a date.

"My lips are sealed," she nodded with a smile. "For what its worth, I'm glad to hear it. It would be rather sad to have a half a staff together with the Headmistress all alone."

Viper could have just said she was happy for Kiara, but, well, she's Viper. Does one really need to say more?

"Hmm well usually comes with the territory I guess" Kiara said,

"I wasn't explecting a date so it was a pleasant surprise when Eglantine brought Ciaran up to my office. Though am suspious of that dog... a dog attacted me in my office, but convienatly missed my neck. I have a feeling that was the plan for Ciaran to "Save" me" she said.

Kiara looked over at Viper and smiled, "So you are going with Sevastyan I expect then?" she asked though she already knew she promised Sevastyan she wouldn't tell Viper he told her any thing.

Viper raised an eyebrow at Kiara's tale. "Wow, very unique. "

She returned the smile with a nod. "Assuming I find a dress to wear..."

Laughing Kiara said "You and me both, I found one I like...... But I am not sure if it right for the ball or not"

Looking at Viper she continued " Come I can show it to you and you can tell me your opinion if it would be proper for the ball or not, Then I will help you fine one"

"Alright," Viper agreed as she walked beside Kiara, curious to see what the Headmistress had in mind.

Kiara led Viper the shop she found the dress the had potental at least she thought so.

It stood in the window of the shop and beside it was a red on and a black one.

"I like the blue one in the middle, what do you think? to much.. or not the right occassion or good?"

Viper glanced at the dress, pondering how Kiara would look in it. It was a beautiful dress and would be perfect for the ball. "It's perfect." she nodded in approval. "I would change one thing though..."

Kiara blinked "Oh? what would that be?" she asked.

Picking out the perfect dress has never been her strong suit, unsually while not wearing robes she wore t-shirts and jeans, never dresses or skirts.

"I'd ask the seamstress to darken the shade of blue just a bit. It'll help bring out your eyes more." Viper concluded with what she hoped would be helpful advice.

Kiara nodded "Ok I think I will get this one then, thank you Viper"

Kiara went into the shop and asked to seamstress for dress in her size in the window.

After she paid half the money for it, she came back to Viper.

"Now to find you something, that will make Sevastyan's jaw drop" she said with a laugh.

Viper couldn't help but blush at Kiara's statement as she flipped through the racks, searching for robes. "What color should I look for? I'm leaning towards black but it seems too...expected."

"Green would match well with your eyes." Eglantine suggested, she had entered the ship in cat form and then morphed back into her human shape when she had spotted Kiara and Viper. Her shrunken wheelchair was soon charmed back to its normal size and she levitated into it.

Viper turned at the familiar voice and smiled. "Hello Professor. I was thinking of green as well, but I rarely find a shade of green I like." she flipped through the racks, both amused and mortified by half the dresses there.

"Have you been able to find anything?"

Looking around but finding nothing specatular Kiara said "What about Black and Dark Green?"

"And afternoon Eglantine," she said.

Eglantine shook her head. "No, I have not been successful, Professor." she stated, glancing at the racks, but remaining stationary where she was.
"Good afternoon," Eglantine returned, cocking her head to one side. "Black and green would be nice."

Viper nodded, still looking through the racks. "Do you normally wear corsets with formal dresses, Professor?" she wondered curiously, for she personally did when wearing certain gowns. With her frame, it wasn't exactly necessary but it did help the outfit quite a bit, in Viper's opinion.

"Normally." Eglantine responded, softly. Currently she could not, due to her still healing ribs. Even her more fitting gowns such as her black and white one were to constricting.

Viper nodded. "I see." she sighed in exasperation as she continued searching for a dress before a flash of emerald caught her eye towards the back of the store.

She smiled at the first decent dress she had seen that day and headed over to the fitting rooms to try it on.
