The Infirmary

"Are you mad....? You seemed so interesting i wanted to know more about you I'm sorry it wasn't my business to go through your things I hope your not mad at me..."

Raven grabbed the diary and gave it back to Juria, ashamed of herself for doing something stupid. She felt very guilty.

"I bet your going to send me to detention now right?" she asked.

Juria laughed pleasantly, gently taking the book back. No sign of anger could be detected anywhere around Juria at this time. Smiling to make the young girl feel better she said,

"No, I’m not mad and I'm not going to send you to detention, it's just I was surprised you read it I... forgot... that I had left it out."

Juria cringed as she said the word 'forgot' but hoped that Raven didn’t see it. Trying to change the subject, Juria put her hand to Raven's forehead and stated,

"Your fever seems to have gone down more... but still not all the way down stay here until I’m sure you are fine."

To herself Juria thought, "Oh shoot!! What am I going to do? Raven has seen my diary?! I wonder what curiosity level she has... I wonder if she will desperately want to know about why I put those question marks... I probably shouldn’t have done that... I’m such an idiot! Why am I talking to myself? Curses! Ok calm down Juria... its nothing... Raven can be trusted anyway... I mean what is it to her that you spent the last 12 years of your life serving the Dark Lord under the Imperio Curse... I'm still talking to myself?!?! Ok stopping now..."

Juria mentally overviewed what the situation was for her.

Raven was glad she wasn't going to detention even though she thought she deserved it. "What did the question marks mean on the pages?" Raven was curious she wanted to know and it wasn't like she was going to tell anyone, but then again she is a Slytherin.

Juria hesitated, trying to think of a good enough answer that was still the truth.

"They... They are days that I don’t remember and couldn’t write down."

Juria smiled, it was true, just not all of it. It was true she couldn’t remember them and couldn’t write them down but she knew exactly what she was doing at the time. She was under the Imperio curse from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Juria wondered if Raven was truly interested in what Juria's past was like and wondered if she was going to keep asking questions. The scary part is that questions lead to answers and Juria's answer is not one that many people might want to say.

Trying to act like there wasn’t anything else to do with the question marks Juria got out the thermometer again and checked Raven.

"99.8 …Almost normal but still it might spike so I’m keeping you for a little longer."

Juria smiled, her royal blue eyes were full of kindness. The doctor was glad she was able to help the girl at the right time. Raven’s temperature had been high and went up without warning. If Juria had been too late Raven could have gotten seriously sick.

"I got detention today and i do not know why" Raven said trying to make a conversation. She was still very curious about Juria's past and thought it was interesting. Raven love learning about history including other people's history she thought it was interesting.

Juria laughed, happy to change the subject and start a conversation.

"I guess you were doing something against the rules and a teacher caught you. You know that Wizard teachers have eyes all over Hogwarts. It’s amazing actually. I think they were born with the talent."

Juria laughed, it had been a joke during when she was at Hogwarts that all the Teachers had eyes not only on the back of their heads but EVERYWHERE. Juria smiled as she got a cold towel and placed it against Raven's forehead.

"Your hand is colder then the water" Raven noticed and had mentioned it to Juria. Raven wondered if her hands were cold from the water or if something happened to her in her past. Her curiosity really wanted to know what's Juria's past was like.

Juria smiled as she took care of Raven,

"My hand was just in the water, it's because of that."

Juria was surprised that Raven thought her hand was cold. It was true sometimes she felt a little cold even with a jacket on, but some people were like that. Still wondering why Raven got sick all of a sudden Juria questioned,

"Do you mind if I do a check up on you Raven? I want to make sure you are completely fine."

Raven felt a little uneasy about what Juria said she didn't like checkups she had a secret of her own on her back "I-I prefer you not to but if it is recommended i suppose so..." Raven took a big deep breath worried about what Juria would say about the scars all over her and the raven tattoo on her back.

Juria smiled, she had to check the girl’s heart and lungs. There could be an infection in the lungs that made her sick. Even if all the symptoms didn’t check out, it was better safe than sorry. Juria smiled and then started to work,

"May I have your wrist? I’m going to check your pulse."

Juria always asked to see something; she knew some patients didn’t like just being grabbed or the doctor doing something to them without their knowledge.

"Then I’m going to check your lungs, it’s just a simple checkup ok?"

Juria wanted to make sure that Raven was at ease and didn’t fear a checkup.

Raven gave Juria her wrist she didn't mind that but what she did mind was checking her lungs she was unease about it but accepted it since she haven't got a checkup every since she was little.

"Alright you can" She didn't know what she was doing so Raven was hoping it would be OK.

Juria took Raven's wrist and placed two fingers against it. Looking at a watch that was on the same hand she counted a minute.

"Good, your heart seems to be just fine. It’s normal for a minute."

Juria then got out her wand and went around to Raven's back.

"Will you please pull your shirt up a little?"

Juria was going to use her wand to listen to Raven's lungs.

Raven sighed and her breath shook then shivered and pulled it up a little hoping for some miracle she won't notice anything but Juria was to smart for that. Little by little all the scars have been reveled and the Raven tattoo has been reveled.

Juria raised her eyebrow at the scars and tattoo. Sighing slightly as if saddened she took out her wand and gently rested it on Raven's back Juria muttered,

"Exaudio latus-eris"

The sound of Raven's breathing was instantly put in Juria's ears. Moving her wand to a couple of places on the student's back she listened to the lungs. Finally Juria helped Raven put down her shirt and went around to the front. Putting her wand with rose carvings away she smiled kindly at Raven as if she had not even seen the scars and tattoo. Her eyes, shining a deep royal blue were kind to the sight and in a happy voice she informed,

"You are fine, I’m sure that it was a freak accident, you can’t be sure with all those magic charms flying around. You can go to your dorm or you can stay here, whichever you choose."

Juria smiled and got out a lollypop, she handed it to the girl- it was watermelon flavored. Juria knew now that the girl was fine, and that she was free to leave, even if it meant that Juria would be alone till another patient came in needing help. Smiling again Juria turned to the counter to organize some bottles there.

"Juria? Are you there? this is Kiara, It is urgent I need you to come to my quarters right a way" came Kiara's voice from the fire place.

Juria heard the voice and looked at the fireplace, hoping nothing was wrong she quickly headed towards Kiara's Quarters.

Raven had left the infirmary and didn't need Juria's attention no longer.

Juria was cleaning up the Infirmary and humming a simple tune, not expecting anyone at the present time. She was happy that it was almost the weekend and her date with Ethan was coming up.

Miranda glanced around the infirmary. Again, it was exactly as she left it. She wondered briefly where her office would be. After all, to her knowledge, Hogwarts had not had a counselor before.

Feeling a presence, Juria looked around to see a strange face.

"Oh hello, may I help you?"

She asked, wondering who the newcomer was.

Miranda smiled. "Ah, you must be the mediwitch! Miranda Maecer, school counselor." Miranda introduced herself, extending her hand.

Juria took it and smiled back, a true sincere smile.

"Nice to meet you, and yes I’m the School doctor, my name is Juria."

Miranda seemed to be a kind person, and Juria was happy to meet her.

"Likewise." Miranda replied brightly. "I noticed you have an empty room over there. Would it be alright if I used it for my office?"

Juria smiled happily, she would love to have someone with near the Infirmary that she could talk to.

"Sure, of course, that would be excellent. I would be honored if you set up your office there."

Juria hoped that Miranda would not mind Juria visiting once in a while.

"Thank you!" Miranda beamed. The nurse was awfully sweet, although she couldn't help feel that there was a reason for it...

"Have you worked here very long?"
