"Oh, not to worry, milady..." Abraxas waved off the apology with a vague hand motion. "It was a very long time ago. Long, long time, in fact." A slight chuckle left his lips as a possibility for an age joke showed itself.

His face brightened considerably as she reiterated that she understood. "Perhaps I should start a whole new project at some point... one that wouldn't necessarily require a code of silence. Or perhaps I could assist you with any particular research you might be doing?" the wizened wizard offered somewhat hesitantly. Abraxas didn't want to intrude upon her own workings but yet he knew what it used to feel like being "left out," and experience from his own youth.

The smile widened, eye corners crinkling as he did so. "That could very well be," he remarked, though couldn't help but feel that, if this Professor Addams was allowed to participate in the research group, that in no time his signature spell would likely be something to assist the accelerated growth of plants.

Abraxas had to do all he could from chuckling at what he interpreted as a modest physical reaction to his question: Kiara's blushing and subsequent looking away. "Ah. I see, I see," he replied. "Please forgive an old man and his varying curiosities." The smile did not necessarily leave his lips.

Kiara gave a small smile, "Still, sorry for your loss, better late then never?" she said.

Kiara thought about his offer, she wasn't working on anything particualely pressing at the moment. Other than Calista Vaights trial, and most of the magical reasearch for that was done in terms of proof anyway..

"Hmm other then a court case I have been working on for the ministry I don't have much in the way of reaserch I am doing.... court case reading is done a while ago.... so not much left to do there" she said.

"But if you have anything the isn't top secret I would be more then happy to particapate or lend a hand" she said with a nod.

She laughed sheepishly at his comment to her current marriage perdicament... "Well it is a bit silly, I have been married before yes but I never met his parents. Never realised how nerve racking it was.... But it is alright to ask I am just nervous about.... out engagment was rather quick" she explained.

"And there is nothing to forgive" she said with a laugh.

"So true, so true... and I thank you. He was a rather obedient serpent, even if he didn't necessarily like being so," Abraxas replied with a slightly widened smile.

He nodded upon hearing about the court case, and was instantly curious but remained silent. It was probably a personal matter she wasn't interested in sharing, and not one in which he should be asking. An internal battle between curiosity and chivalry ensued, neither side allowing the other to fully win the conflict.

"I cannot think of any... research, in the strictest sense of the word, at the present time. But I am keeping tabs on a wizarding excavation site... what do you know of the recently-rediscovered Temple of Maleha?" Abraxas explained, and then asked the Headmistress.

The old wizard nodded in understanding. "Yes, I was rather nervous when I went to meet my first wife's parents for the first time... and the second... didn't bother with visiting the third, but that was for a completely different reason," Abraxas explained kindly, punctuating his statement with a slight chuckle. Yes... there was a very good reason he didn't meet his third wife's parents!

Kiara's eye brows rose when he explained the situation about the Temple of Maleha.

"I heard about it yes," she said with a nod. "Not much though, all I know is that is newly eccaveted site in Egypt"

She raised her eye brow, "Are you planning on looking into it? Though I admit it does sound fastinating. Any reserchers jakepot I expeact eh?" she asked.

She blinked Curiously, "How did those meetings go?..." she bit her lip. "Never mind I shouldn't have asked that.. sorry, that curisity again, I asked before a thought" she mumbled.

Abraxas nodded, "That is correct, milady. In the little city of Malkata... which is just a little hop, skip, and a jump southwest of Karnak... well, it's known as Luxor now. Legend says that Akenaten, a pharaoh of the time, and a wizard, buried the temple beneath the sands when he abolished the generations-old polytheism."

His smile widened at the raised eyebrow. "Yes, I was thinking of looking into it. When the research starts getting a bit more interesting than a pot shard here... bit of incense there..." the old wizard laughed. "It is indeed a researcher's jackpot. Especially since... if I'm not mistaken, that is the only place where Maleha seems to have been revered. Doesn't that seem a bit odd to you, too?"

A light melody of laughter escaped the wizard at the question and mumbled apology. "That's quite alright, my dear! My former marriages are not confidential... My first wife was an Englishwoman by the name of Miranda Croft. Simply lovely lady, and her parents were indeed very much the same. Meeting them went rather well... though... telling them how my blushing bride died in an alchemical accident was a fair bit more difficult and nerve-wracking.

"Now... my second wife... her parents weren't quite that enthused with me at first, but everything turned out all right in the end. Even if we did divorce," Abraxas explained obligingly.

Kiara listened with interest as Abraxas explained out more details of what he knew of the temple of Maleha. In muggle school she always had a interest in ancient history, and she studied it a bit more in detail in high school and during some of her free time in Auror training. However she let it slide after she married Daniel.

She nodded " Yes that does sound odd, could be something to do with the temple maybe? Interesting perhaps I will look in to it to, I always like uncovering secrets, practicularly thoughs long forgotten" she said with a smile.

She wasn't really sure what to say to him about his two ended relationships, they weren't really very encouraging.

"Sorry to hear about both of them, you may have figured out I am divorced as well, 6 nearly 7 years ago." she said figureing the best thing to was to relate to his situation.

"Perhaps..." The old wizard mused with a slight nod, running a hand through the short beard in thought. "Hmm... secrets long forgotten are particularly satisfying to come across and unlock. Though, when you get to be my age, there tend to be a lot of 'secrets' that aren't quite so long ago forgotten," Abraxas added, the last sentence intended to be a joke. The intent to joke was the reason for the chuckled that followed, and his further comment of, "Brain like a sieve, sometimes, this old man has."

"Thank you... and yes, you did mention being married previously. I am glad you were not widowed, which was my first thought based on my own experiences. Though I'm still fairly new here, I am happy for you," Abraxas replied. The wizard decided not to regale her with the tale of his third marriage, for it really wasn't that encouraging a tale for soon-to-be-married folk.

"Hmm... Kiara..." Abraxas said, more to himself than anything. He seemed to be calculating something out in his head. Then, he nodded. Upon realizing that the actions must've looked rather odd, the wizard blinked and then looked slightly sheepish. "Oh... my apologies, milady. Arithmancer's habit, I'm afraid: I was briefly observing the numerical vibration of your name. Happens to me more often with names containing fewer letters than not."
