Dark secrets lay here

Professor DeLanquar pulled book after book down from the shelf, carefully opening each one and searching it with a searching charm. So far she had gone through as many as twenty books without finding what she was looking for.

The library was empty and she often looked over her shoulder to ensure it remained that way. It would not do to have students see their Transfiguration professor digging through dark magic books about possession and spirit control.

Finally she slid the books back into their places and sighed. She would have to make a trip to Hogsmeade later on to procure the book she needed.

The door creaked open as a young Ravenclaw slipped in and Eglantine slipped easily into her animagus form to avoid being seen. Within a few moments the student left again after figuring she had wandered into the wrong room. Eglantine strode back to the bookshelf still in her cat form and lifted a dainty white paw to touch a book.

Ana braced herself anf pulled the potion-drenched sack from her pocket.
Silent and unseen, she slipped through the partially open door and flung the sack over the cat where it reached a paw to touch a book.
Tying the sack tight, Ana grinned.
Easy. Just like Viper had promised.
Now she just had to take her to the Dark Lord and win his favour. And that scared her more than cat-napping a teacher.
Restoring the books to the correct shelves with a whispered spell, picking up the Professor's wand and storing it in a pocket, Ana opened a secret passage and began to creep along it.
Hopefully the Dark Lord was expecting her.

Eglantine almost went into cardiac arrest as the sudden swish of air sounded before a sack was pulled over her head and body. Rather unceremoniously turned upside down as the sack was tied, she hissed softly and attempted to rip through the bag. Then she tried transfiguring back, but was unable to.
Fear surfaced as the Head of Gryffindor was carried along to an unknown destination.

April crept along the rows of dark, stained books. How old they must be! She thought, not stopping. Then, just as she was about to reach her destination(the silent corner of the library where nobody ever went), she heard a noise. She turned round sharply and saw a student, in their...3rd or 4th year, she presumed, carrying a potion drenched sack with something squirming inside it. Thank GOD her father had taught her how to perform a Disillusionment charm! She followed the girl, sticking to the walls as a precaution. Then, the girl opened some sort of passage and disappeared into it. Oh no! What do I do know? Should I follow her? April almost fainted, the choice was so hard. Um... April had an idea. She made sure that she remembered everything that happened and started leaving the library to Headmistress Kiara's office.

Ana darted back out of the passage, hidden safely by a disillusionment charm. Doubtless, the trap would be sprung and her double would be ready.

Silently, she crept forwards, hiding behind a row of books. Sure enough, a dark haired girl was sat in the main library, blushing and trying to gather up a large pile of books she appeared to have dropped.

"Honestly Miss Vaight-"

"Sorry..."

The librarian soon hurried "Ana" away out of sight, and the real fourth year followed, sticking to the shadows and edges... Now all she had to do was make the switch.

Casey flipped through books looking for anything she could use to help with the mer-people issue.
((Changed my mind...))
"Mother said something about a illusion potion here somewhere, The mer-people will see what I tell them to see."

April looked around for a book on Elementals. It was so annoying! One minute she was having a heart attack, and the next, she can control all 4 elements. Couldn't a girl get some peace in her life? Sighing, she found it. Making her way towards the main library, she opened the dusty leather covered book.

Ana wandered through the restricted section, scanning the shelves.
It was surprisingly difficult to find something when you didn't know exactly where it would be...
Where did you look for the history of two object that weren't actually accepted as real?!

"Do you need help?" Diana appeared from nowhere.

"Cas-" Ana closed her eyes for a moment. "Diana."
She continued walking. "I'm looking for a book regarding the Daglock Cavill, it's earliest legends, as early as possible." She glanced back at Diana.
"I get the feeling you know why I want to know..."

Diana nodded. "I have a suspicion."

"Good. I want to find out about the powers...all of them."
She sighed. "But I don't know where to look."
She pulled out her wand and waved it, causing the some of the books to rise off the shelves.
She closed her eyes in concentration, and muttered "daglock cavill..." under her breath like a mantra.
Soon a small pile of books had stakced themselved on the desk.
"And now there has to be something in these..." She muttered. She sat down and pulled the topmost one towards her. "Start reading."

Despite the fact that Diana disliked being ordered by the Vaight, Diana did as she was told.

"This just talks about how they're mythical and that we'd have more chances finding the Deathly Hallows." Diana discarded the book in an orderly pile and picked up another one.

Ana's eyes flicked over the pages.
"Okay, this is all about the improbablity of it existing...of course it damn well exists, it is RIGHT HERE IN MY POCKET!" Ana yelled at the book, slamming the cover down and forcing it roughly into it's alloted space.
She calmed down and reached for the next book.

"Here this looks promising!" Diana said excitedly and started to read out loud. "The Daglock Cavill was a set of two objects that held power. One of these objects was a dagger and the other a locket..."

"And it just goes on and describing what they are... no other information on it whatsoever." Diana said discarding the book also.

Then Diana though of something... "Ana, who gave you the dagger?"

"My father." Ana answered. "After the duelling competition's second half finished, before dinner. At least it hadn't been intended for Darien and the heir, just for me."
She glanced at the pile, now only about three books were left.
She skim-read the book, but it had nothing in it.
She swore. "Is it too much to ask for!?"

"Did he tell you anything about it?" Diana said. Books were a good resource but people were even better.

"No. He said it was a heirloom. I researched it purely out of interest."
Ana sighed and pushed the penultimate book aside. "One left, and that one was equally pointless."
She opened the last book and sighed. "Still nothing!"
She sank backwards in her chair. Her eyes suddenly brightened.
"I have an idea! You know the locket made us go back in time? Why shouldn't we go back to the beginnning? When the Daglock Cavill was created? Then we'd get all the information first-hand!"

Diana nodded at Ana's suggestion. It was a good one... Diana clutched the locket. She turned it so she could take a better look. The only problem was... "How do we make it work?"

"What were you doing at the willlow?" Ana asked, taking the dagger out of her pocket and holding it near the locket.
Nothing happened.
She pointed it at the locket.
Still nothing.
"How did you make it work before?"

"I... I'm not sure." Diana said looking at the locket as if willing it to work. "I was just trying to stop Nick from doing something totally stupid... and I had this random though of 'if only we'd seen what had happened!' then suddenly the locket started to glow blue..." Diana stopped in mid-sentence because the phenonmenon she was describing started to happen.

The locket started to glow blue again.

"That'll work-" Ana was cut off in mid-sentance as they hurtled through space and time...

Diana remembered hoping she wouldn't end up falling in to a undigify position before she felt herself being sucked in.

"So where's your uncle's body? And please do not say he's been cremated."
