Detention (RPG classroom)

Professor DeLanquar finally arrived at the DADA classroom and opened the door manually. The chalkboard was dirty as she had set it up to be and a lavender cloth hung from it.

"This will be the final board."

"Alright Professor," Diana said. She grabbed the lavander cloth. "I still can't believe you haven't seen a Quidditch Game, Professor. It's the best there is! And nothing can beat playing it."

"I am glad you find it so. I've never enjoyed sports though." Not feeling comfortable sitting at the Headmistress's desk, Professor DeLanquar sat where a student usually sat and watched the girl clean the board.
"Are you muggle-born?" she asked, curious.

"Oh, no, my mum was though." Diana said, then chuckled. "Bit of a problem with dad's family at the start."

"Ah." Afraid to start a long discussion, Eglantine said the next thing on her mind. "Do you like cats? I noticed you have cat fur on your robes."

"Oh yeah," Diana said looking at the spot the Professor referred to. She dusted herself and turned back at the Professor to focus on actually cleaning the board. "I have one."

Not really wanting to have an awkward pause in the conversation Diana bounced the question back at her. "Do you have one Professor?"

"Yes. She is a Turkish Angora. She stayed in my quarters." She left off the fact that she was a cat Animagi.

Viper knocked her hand at the wall loudly to gain the attention of the other two women.

"Excuse me, I hope I'm not interrupting. Professor, could you have your student fix the board in my classroom? If she's through, of course."

"I will not." Eglantine replied, rising to her feet. "This is her final board."

Viper shot her an incredulous look. "She's only done about 2 classrooms!"

There was a somewhat awkward pause as Diana finished up wiping the chalkboards.

"Her misdemeanour was very small. And as I am the professor punishing her and her Head of House, two classrooms was enough." Professor DeLanquar did sound near as confident as she would have liked and her hands shaking did little to make her seem more imposing.

Viper folded her arms across her chest. "I noticed that of those two classrooms, one was yours and the other the Headmistress's. You just can't help yourself, can you?"

Diana became very interested in the pecular pattern of the chalkboard frame.

"Help myself?" Eglantine was lost...

"Oh don't play me for a fool. I know you're trying to warm up to the Headmistress, cleaning her room. she lowered her voice to a whisper to keep the other room's occupant from listening in. "Not to mention the fact that she's a Gryffindor! I'm willing to bet my entire Viper Fortune that had it been a Slytherin you would not have been so lenient!"

"When will you finally understand that I do not treat people according to their houses?" she hissed, finally fed up with Professor Viper.
"You do not know me. And if you want your board cleaned, then it will be cleaned. Now get out of my sight before I hex you, you foolish girl!" She pulled her wand out of her pocket and held it in dueling stance. The shaking of her hands was no longer as severe and her eyes blazed with fury. Yes, all present, Professor DeLanquar had snapped.

In a blink of en eye, Viper had her wand drawn as well. "You'd better be careful, Professor. I'm more than half your age and unlike you, I can stand perfectly well all on mine. Don't do anything stupid."

"Furnunculus!" Flicking her wand at the other Professor, Eglantine shot the hex at her.

"Protego!" Viper exclaimed, summoning a powerful shield charm.

Eglantine watched as the hex disintegrated against the shield as she thought it would.
"Now leave." she repeated.

Viper moved aside, allowing Eglantine passage through the doorway. "Age before beauty." she smirked.

To say that Diana was shocked to witness what she had just seen would be an understatement. She couldn't believed her professors just hexed each other. Now granted, everyone knew there wasn't any love lost between Professor Viper and Professor DeLanquar but it was very rare to see their animosity played out.

"Err.... Professor DeLanquar," Diana adressed her Head of House rather hesitantly as if afraid she's break the 'peace' between the two Professors, "I've finished."

"Very good." Professor DeLanquar stated. She swept past the potion's mistress obviously heading for the potion's classroom.
