Detention

Ana knocked timedly on the door.
"Professor? I'm here for detention..."

Kiara lifted her head from her chair and waved her hand.

"Hiccup...I really must get rid of these" she said as she opened the door.

"Come in Miss Vaight, will write down all you know about these Daglock Cavill. Any questions?"

"No headmistress..."
She sat down and began to write...

Diana walked in silently. "Professor," Diana said. "I'm here for Detention."

"Come in Miss Casillas"

Kiara turned "Hiccup"

"Do you know any thing about the Daglock Cavill?"

Ana began to write.
All she knew fgor certain were the various legends...and some of the history.
But then there was what had happened in the prefects bathroom...

Diana shook her head. "It was just a bedtime story my Grandfather used to tell me. I never knew..."

"I know some of the myths... researched it but there wasn't much to find. Just a few myths and a couple or history mentions. Nothing really." Ana added.

"Have you check the Restricted Section?" Diana said suddenly. "Or, if the Headmistress doesn't mind, Hogwarts A History brags of the Library inside the Head's office."

"I checked my father's extensive library. And unfortunantly, investigatingand activating potentially lethal artefacts doesn't seem to be considered a reason for using the Resricted section."
Ana rolled her eyes.

"You know Prefects have access to that right?" Diana said.

Ana sighed. "I only became a prefect on the day I tried to activate the objects. I am not a Seer, I didn't know I was going to have access to the Restricted section and planned accordingly. Now I know I have, it's a bonus."

Diana threw Ana a dirty look and turned to her essay. 'Daglock... what do I know...? I don't know what I know... why am I even writing this...? Fairy tale... always wanted to know what it would have been like to have one... now I do... what does it do again? I don't remember... teleporation... neutralizes spells... what was the other one?'

Suddenly, she saw black.

The Daglock Cavill was long rumoured to be the only two weapons to defy the Hallows. However, after both joint makers felt betrayed by the other, both refused to share the artefacts and they eventually reached a period of usage that made them dormant, to be awakened and activated only by a Casillas and Vaight. However, as both creators died soon after this, the tale was lost and distorted, the artefacts thought to be only heirlooms. Very few books even mention them, even fewer suggest they are anything more than a myth. Those that do suggest them to be real, contain few particulars of how to acitvate them.
The most helpful contained a paragraph detailing the powers of the artefacts, once activated, and a small footnote saying they need blood to reach activation. Apparently the powers include dissolving or distorting spells aimed at the holder and teleportation. Their magic is not inhibited by non-apparation jinxes, or other protection measures. There was a brief implication that they could travel through space and time, although this seems unlikely, and is not mentioned in any other works about the items.
The legend is still told as a fable, but few believe it.

Ana glanced across as she heard a thud.
She was surprised that it was Diana's head hitting the desk."What the hell?!"

Kiara's eyes widened when Miss Casillas passed out.

And rushed over to her fallen form.

"Miss. Casillas?" She approached worriedly.

Darkness... small room... tomb... torches... screaming.... push away... sharp pain...

... nothing...

Diana opened her eyes. "Where am I?"

Ana turned back to her parchment when Diana recovered.
Had she missed any details?

Kiara knelt down beside Diana.

"Are you alright Miss Casillas?"

There was a light brush on Diana's cheeks as she realized the Headmistress was hovering over her.

"Yes... I'm fine..." She suddenly sat up. "Headmistress! I need to contact my family!"

Kiara blinked "Very well, you can use the floo in my office if you wish"

Ana looked up. Why did Diana suddenly need to contact her family?
"Odd time to get homesick..." She muttered so only Diana could hear.

Diana glared at her but then turned to the Headmistress. "Thank you Professor."

Thousands of candy wrappers lay around the Advanced spells room.

Kiara waited in the centre of the room for Mr. Lestrange to arrive. In a way she was not looking forward to it. The kid.. reminded her of her younger much darker self.
