Personal Quarters

Kiara nodded, "Not just for me, its just being subtle has never been one of my strong points, I don't to come off by sounding aucusing with out meaning to, I don't want to hurt him" she said with a sigh.

After leviating Eglantine in to her bed and making sure she was comfortable Kiara went to the fire [;ace and call Ciarans quarters.

Taking a nervous breath she stuck her head into the flew.

"Ciaran? are there?" she asked.

Tav's beaming face answered her. "No, he isn't here. Strange. He just kinda vanished. Can I take a message?"

Horatio folded his arms. "Rather odd time to take a trip..." he mused.

Kiara sighed " Its Alright Tav, just when he comes back let him know I need to speak with him, it is rather urgent'

Pulling her head out she bit her lip, "Where could he have gone? he didn't say a thing yeasterday...." Kiara said.

"Umm could he have been called in be the ministy?" she asked trying to think of a reason he would just dissapear without telling anyone.

"Then again he may still be in the castle" she said.

At that moment she would think of anthing that would steer away form him being involved with Eglantines husdands death.

Tav nodded before Kiara pulled her head out of the fire. Horatio looked worried.

"Indeed... he could have been called away. But today of all days and without telling anyone? He is my great-nephew, Kiara. I love him dearly. But we have to assume that he may be... involved in a bad way."

Kiara shock head “No! I won’t believe it, I can’t believe it Horatio, not with out proof” she said. She may not have totally realized it but there were tears on her eyes.

“I got to find him there has got to be a reason, there has to be. I refuse to believe he was a part of the awful purging” she said as got rose from her place at the fire place.

“Expecto Patronum!”

The tiger leapt from her finger tips and face her for the message “Find Ciaran McConn if he is anywhere in the castle tell him to come to my office or quarters” she said.`

And the tiger left.

Horatio nodded, understanding her pain and disability to believe it. It felt the same way with Eglantine... only there was a chance with Ciaran that it was all a misunderstanding. Eglantine...there was not chance, not possibility for misunderstanding.

Kiara placed around her Quarters eger and hopefull that she was right and that is was all a big misundersranding, As she didm't know what she would do if by some chance she was wrong.

"Please, please don't let him be involved" she prayed to what ever deity was listening.

Horatio seated himself on the couch, reaching out to touch a spot of blood. "He will come..." he muttered. He had better...

About ten minutes passed and the knock sounded on the door. It opened a moment later and Ciaran poked his head in.
"What's wrong, Kiara?"

Kiara sighed in relief as she haulted in her pacing "Oh thank Merlin"

"Come in Ciaran there is something we need to talk about, "she said as she walked over to him.

Great now how to approach this rather tricky subject. She no idea....

"All right, lass. What happened?" he ventured, nodding to a rather confused looking Horatio.

"Okay how the heck to I do this? think Kiara think" she thought to herself, yes being blunt always worked best with her, but this situation,and with this person... it wouldn't work.

"Umm come and sit I need to think of a way to word it"

Start from the beginning she mused.

"Look umm.. this morning Eglantine revealed she was rather injured and collaped, Should be fine later, but at the time she gave us a real scare. She was having trouble breathing and when she talked her sentences were fragmented.... Well she was try to explain something, and you see...."

Kiara looked hands were shaking she was so nervous.

"She told me, someone was seeking her out and then she said something about her husbands killer a few years ago...."

She took a shaky breath, "Before I say the name she said... Did you know of the Purging that happened years ago? Aganist dark families?" she asked cautiously.

"The Purging...aye unfortunately." Ciaran responded, he shifted uncomfortably in the seast he had taken. Horatio almost grabbed the younger man to shake hims senseless, but refrained... Kiara could handle this...

Kiara breathed again "Eglantine and her husband were targets of purging Ciaran. Eglantine is a member of the Rosier family... She was recued by her family but her husband at the time wasn't so lucky... they killed him Ran, a team of aurors killed a muggle just becauase he was married to a Rosier...."

Lifting her head up she placed her gaze back on Ciaran tears were her eyes again and she swallowed.

"I was wondering it you know anything about it? Anything to fill in the blank in what she said..."

Kiara wanted to look away but she need to see him "She mentioned your name Ciaran.... I am sorry have ask.... I know it wasn't you, its just it doesn't make sence"

Tears were once again streaming down her face....

Ciaran sighed as if in relief. "Now, Ara. No need ta be tearing. I can be explainin. Ya see, lass. Her family...they didn't save her. Mrs DeLanquar, well, aye she survived the "accident" and I wasn't agreeing with me boss. That's why I's in secret work, Ara. They assigned me where I am being nowhere and nothing. I couldn't save them both... just her and the bairn..." He wiped away her tears.

Kiara sighed in relief, she know there had to be a reason behind it and she was relieved he wasn't offended by her question.

Then something caugh her attention "Wait you saved her and who?" she asked confused the information from Eglantine and and info from Ciaran didn't match. Why would Eglantine say her family saved her when they didn't. and what did this have to do with Richards killer and who was seeking her out.

"and if you saved her, who killed her husband? Would they be after her now if they know where her was?" she asked trying to fit the peices together... again. Horatio was right they would never figure Eglantine Delanquar out.

Ciaran sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Well, ya see, lass. I bucked orders, went against me team. There was the woman and a young lass, just a wee thing. Me team thought I killed her and put the bairn with care, but I didn't. They found out and killed the muggle."

Horatio just stared at Ciaran, "That was about 9 years ago, lad. How do we know you are speaking the truth?"
The Scot sighed. "I don't know... Me memories were altered and me record erased."

Kiara sighed this was getting complicated,

Looking over at Ciaran she moved her hand to his and squeezed it offering what little comfort and encouragement it gave him.

True His and Eglantines stories were different, but Eglantine had changed her story a few times already and hide things from her. So she couldn't take Eglantines story of what really happened either.

"Alright, you said your memories were altered.. how do you know that is what really happened then? have the been altered back or.." she asked confused.

This was getting more twisted with every question she asked.

"No, Ara. Not altered back, just told the truth. By her. DeLanquar hunted me down, about 7 years ago, set her wand agin me throat and was about to kill me. I thought, me memory told me that I had been apart of the killing... But she remembered me attempt to save her, and she spared me and gave me her memories. Awful to watch..." he murmured.

Kiara bit her lip again, Eglantine had lied to her then, but why? Why change it so many times? Why tell her about Ciaran's involvement in it? There was only one way to see what happened then and hopefully clear up some of the confusion. The wait for Eglantine to wake up and recover to answer any other question that may arise..

Waving she hand she summoned her pensieve.

"Can you show me?" she asked Ciaran gently.

Ciaran nodded, extracting his wand from his pocket. Touching its tip to his temple, he dragged out a long silvery thread of memory.

"I'll warn ya, Ara..." he muttered, patting her hand. "I didn't like seeing it."

Kiara nodded "I know won't like seeing it Ciaran, it is the last thing I want to see, but need to see what actually happened. Who was involved and anything else that could fits this together... Thank you Ciaran"

Taking a breath Kiara dived into the memory.

Kiara watched a as the memory played out she was shocked to discover that Eglantine had in fact had a child... a daughter.

"But why would she..."

It was as Ciaran said horrible to watch, it made her angry to at the thought someone had spelled the car to crash, even angrier that it was the "good guys" that did it.

If found out who cast the curse and killed the innocent there would be hell to pay.

Angry tears came to her eyes as the scene after crash played out, and she wondered grimly just how injured Eglantine's really had been. By the blood on Ciaran's arms after getting the girl out she could only assume quite badly if not critical or worse.

Then at the blurred scene she guesses that was where Richard had been killed.

Her jaw clenched as the scene ended, Ciaran had been the only one to do the right thing. And they had the nerve to modify his memory of what happened.

"That was awful, and she had a child? she didn't even say she had one. She said she didn't have any children" Kiara said with darkened eyes.

Looking over at Ciaran with angry watery eyes, though not a ounce of it was directed at him she said " If I find out who did it was that did it.... I swear I'll..." she let the threat of hurting the unsuspecting wannabe aurors in the air.

Taking a deep breath, or trying to as her chest tightened slightly she coughed. Though she quickly tried to ignore the feeling.

"Who were they Ciaran... do you remember who they are.....? the people that did this? One of them may be after... Eglantine again..." she said sounding slightly winded.

Ciaran nodded, but then shook his head. "No, lass. There'll all dead. She got to them before she gave me the memory. Me whole team...including me boss." He shifted in his seat.
"She doesn't know about the girl, Ara. The girl died..."

Kiara winced when he mentioned the girl died, those aurors were luck they were already dead. Very few people had really seen Kiara angry and the ones who the misfortune of pushing to that edge were long dead years ago.

"But why doesn't she remember her? she asked.
