The Quidditch Pitch

"SHE DIDN'T KILL HIM AS YOU DAMN WELL KNOW! I'M TALKING ABOUT THE ONE YOU ABANDONED! NOW GET DOWN HERE!" Darien yelled at the top of his lungs.

"Sod off, Vaight," And with that he hit a bludger at Darien's direction... and Diana's as well.

"Diana!" Darien pushed Diana to one side and leapt forwards, transforming in mid-air.
He winced as the bludger connected with his chest and he was winded, the bludger spinning away.
The wolf coughed, trying to breathe and refill his lungs with air.

((lol...couldn't resist))

"Darien!" Diana ran to his side.

Nicolas chuckled, "Typical Vaight, always the Hero... what a tragedy."

"Nicolas you Bastard I'm going to kill you!" Diana shouted and took her wand out. "Flipendo!"

Unprepared for Diana's retailation (he was prepared for Darien's though) it hit Nicolas squarely on the chest. Making him freefall backwards. Diana cast a quick cushioning charm to break his fall.

"Thanks," Nicolas muttered.

"I only did that so I can hex you better!" Diana screamed. "Petrificus Totalus!"

And with that Nicolas was petrified.

Darien gasped for breath and glanced at the petrified Nick.

He laughed almost hysterically, and turned to Diana.

"Remind me never to make you mad..."

"Are you okay?" Diana turned back at Darien.

Darien scoffed. "Of course not. Nothing can hurt the Vaight-inator."
He grinned cheesily at Diana.

"Stop, let me see where the bludger hit you," Diana said concerned. "It was a really hard hit..."

"I'm fine..." Darien pushed himself onto his stomach and scrambled to his feet.
Glancing over his shoulder, he was pleasantly surprised by the lack of tail.
"I was only winded...And we have got to tell him..." He narrowed his eyes and glared at Nick. "We have something to tell him about the uncle he abandoned."

"Are you sure?" Diana said then she smiled. "Want me to kiss it and make it all better?"

"How can I refuse such an offer?" He grinned, glad that now the wards were set up, wolf ears didn't keep popping out of his head.

"Come here," Diana smiled, "And I'll make it all better."


On the ground Nicolas let out a muffled scream.

Darien rolled his eyes. "And he calls me immature...and stupid... Remind me why we're telling him again?"

"Just shut up and kiss me," Diana said. Then she smirked. "Nicolas'll enjoy it."


A slightly muffled scream disconfirmed her statement.

Darien laughed, and went in for the kiss...

Diana smiled in the kiss and wrapped her arms around Darien.



In the grass Nicolas was trashing about, trying to avoid the scene before him... well trying to was the key word, he was still under the curse.

Darien broke the kiss when he ran completely out of oxygen.
He glanced across at Nick and laughed hysterically. "Having fun there?"

Diana reversed her spell and made Nicolas able to move again.

"Merlin's Beard, My EYES!" Nicolas shouted.

Darien rolled his own eyes.
"Bah humbug. Diana...do you want to enlighten him?"

"Tell me what?" Nicolas said, "You've got my full attention, just as long as you two don't snog again."

Diana rolled her eyes and nodded at Darien.

Darien smirked.
"Your uncle is teaching Care of Magical Creatures. Diana and Ana managed to use some magic mumbo-jumbo and bring him back...and we all went to break Calista out of Azkaban. So now he's back, and going to marry Calista. Oh, she's your ancient runes teacher by the way. And they're going to get married...and you two'll soon have a cousin. But I think you knew that already."
His smirk broadened. "They have special things on so you can only recognise them if someone who already knows who they are tells you. So now you'll recognise them...Not that you deserve it."

Nicolas was silent.

"It's true..." Diana said slowly. "What Darien says is true."

It took Nicolas several seconds before he said, "Show me."

"Fine. You'd think I was dishonest or something...Merlin..."
Darien turned and began to walk towards the castle.
"Your uncle will probably be in his office."

((To the COMC office ))

Nicolas slowly followed Darien and Diana watched him for any emotion.

This was odd. Very unlike Nicolas. She was expecting fireworks, not this calm Nick.

((different timeline))

Darien mounted his broom and kicked off, rising high above the pitch.

The wind swept past his face and he grinned, barrel rolling through the right-hand goalpost and swooping up into the sky again.
