Transfiguration's Office

"Transfiguration is just as dangerous as Potions." she reminded gently. She had taught to subject off and on for 20 years and had never had a student kill himself.

"Yes, but you would almost always know what they did wrong. In potions, a student could grab a random vile of something from the stores cupboard and toss it into their potion and most professors wouldn't have a clue to fix it. I refuse to ever be in that position. Especially now..."

"Very well. Teach as you desire." She was tired of arguing and exhausted from a long day. "Maybe you could tell your fellow Slytherins that Muggle Studies are at least worth thirty minutes of their time. Because I will not tolerate silliness in my class once it has been warned against."

Viper bit back a laugh. "What did they do?"

"They along with a few Hufflepuffs pretended to snore all through the lesson. The rest of the class laughed along with them then. I only got a few actual students to take notes."

"Hufflepuffs? That is odd indeed. I suppose they're trying to rub a bit of Slytherin's reputation unto themselves. They are, after all, the leftovers."

Eglantine ignored the last statement and closed her eyes. Had she eaten breakfast that morning? Lunch that afternoon? Tea? Dinner? Unfortunately she could not recall doing so and fatigue mixed with no small amounts of hunger were eating away at her strength.

"I do believe I will retire now, Professor."

Viper raised an eyebrow and meant to say something but then withdrew. She smiled sweetly. "Of course, Professor. A woman of your age needs her rest. You're not as young as you used to be." she said as she exited the office. "Pleasant Dreams."

Eglantine shook her head. Professor Viper definitely was annoying and yet strangely, DeLanquar just silently chuckled at the annoyance. "My age... if only she thought of her age as much as I think about mine."

And with a careful glance over her desk, Eglantine made her way to her chambers.

Professor DeLanquar entered her office and sat in her chair. Apparently a young Slytherin, Miss Ana Vaight to be exact, had entered the Forbidden Forest and the note that was spelled to appear with the person's name on it had floated to her desk. Sighing, she sent a quick note to Miss Vaight asking her to come to the office. Why were students so fascinated with the forest?

Of course, she thought suddenly, perhaps Professor Viper should deal with the student. But Professor Viper knew nothing about the breach and she therefore sent the note.

Almost as soon as the note disappeared around the corner, Eglantine wrote out another brief note to Professor Viper and sent it to her office. Since Viper was the Head of Slytherin, it was only fitting that she should know about the student.

Ana approached the office door and knocked, rather more loudly than she'd meant to.

"Come in, Miss Vaight and do be seated." she said calmly. Although not smiling and happy, Professor DeLanquar's soft voice and calm features were usually soothing.

Ana walked slowly over to a chair and sat down, wondering what the Professor had to say.

"Miss Vaight, you are aware of the fact that the Forbidden Forest is forbidden, are you not?"

Ana stared at the floor.

"Yes Professor."

"Very well, then. Please try to stay out of it then." She looked over at a stack of papers she needed to grade and then back at Miss Vaight.
"Consider this a light warning and be on your way. Enjoy your day." She added softly.

Ana was surprised, but grateful.

"Thank you Professor."

She smiled as she left the room, and headed to the dungeons.

"Professor?" Mae knocked at the door, it was the first time she had been to a Professor's office. "It's Mae Schultz, a Ravenclaw first year."

Diana waited behind her friend.

Looking towards Diana, Mae gave a simple shrug, "Maybe she's in the Great Hall. Should we check there?"

"Diana! There you are," Helena said pulling Diana away.

Diana managed to shout out, "Meet you in the Great Hall Mae!"

Before Helena dragged her into the Dungeons.

Professor DeLanquar left her Transfiguration classroom and slipped into her office.

Her mind was spinning from her Muggle Studies class and the many things that had occurred in the Hospital Wing. She needed to somehow assure the Headmistress that she was trustworthy...but how. The thought of taking Veritaserum and allowing the Headmistress to ask her anything she wanted entered her mind, but she trembled at the idea. There was too much she did not want the Headmistress to know about her.
Perhaps a token...she thought.

Mind made up in that brief period of time, Eglantine morphed into her animagus form and left her office. Soon she was padding down the hallway hidden in shadow and slipping out the front doors.
Within ten minutes, she had left Hogwarts behind her as she transformed back into her human form and apparated to her brother's house in London.

((Note...I do not know how I will RP what happens when she is at her brother's house other than using this office area... from now on until she returns to Hogwarts, she is in London.))

Eglantine morphed back into her animagus form and slipped carefully into the large house. She knew the house well, from the years she had lived there and easily made her way into her brother's study.
Edmund was a large man, over 2 meters (6 foot 5) tall, muscular as she was slender and extremely handsome. His oldest son, Erin was seated in front of the desk, an almost opposite of his father, with black hair, brown eyes, and a stick like frame.

"I thought you weren't coming, Lenty." Edmund said suddenly, his deep voice echoing through the large room. Lenty was the name given to her animagus form and Edmund had given it to her many years ago.
Morphing back, she offered him a small smile as he rose to his feet. She was not expecting the embrace he pulled her into or the smile that he returned.

"I am not here to join you, Edmund." Eglantine explained, as he helped her to the chair Erin had vacated for her.
"I know that, dear sister." Edmund chuckled after he had helped to sit down. "Is Severus all right?" She asked, looking around for her nephew.
Erin grunted.
"Some mad woman ripped out his eye, but besides that he is well, Aunt." Erin had never been her favourite, but she still loved him.
"He's resting, Eglantine. I am very proud of how he handled himself." Edmund was testing her.

"As you rightly should be. He fought well and Professor Viper was injured badly." Edmund leaned back in his heavy chair.
"Professor? So that's what she was. I do not think she will be joining us." Eglantine nodded.
"I would rather not speak about her." Edmund nodded.

"So what has brought you here if not the desire to join your lord?" Eglantine closed her eyes.
"I have come to ask you to leave Hogwarts alone. At least for now." Edmund smiled, a rather twisted smile that meant Eglantine would have to wrestle for what she wanted.
"In exchange for?" Erin crossed his arms but said nothing.
"My swearing that I will kill you if you don't." This made her brother laugh.

"What a wager! I'd be a fool to not accept it. Hogwarts will be spared for now. In exchange you will give me the Elixir."
"I must have a token of your word first." Eglantine had expected him to demand something dangerous, but the Elixir, she mentally shuddered.

"Indeed." He rose from his desk and withdrew a handkerchief from his pocket. At that moment the door opened again and Eglantine's heart froze within her chest. Edmund's son Corin, pushed a man into the room in a wheeled chair. Voldemort.

The man was weak and what little power he had was not enough to hurt her, but she still feared him. With Edmund's assistance she kneeled before him and kissed the edge of his robe.
"Eglantine Rosier." Lord Voldemort whispered. A shudder passed down her spine. "A token." As Voldemort said these words, Corin took the handkerchief from his father and gave it to his master. The cloth turned blood red and then black, the dark mark appearing burned into the centre of it.

"Tell Kiara that her birdy is well." Voldemort hissed, Eglantine nodded obediently and then rose to her feet. Leaving the room, she morphed back into her animagus form, with the handkerchief clutched in mouth and hurried back toward the front door.

The catdoor shut behind her, and she hurried down the street to hide behind a tree before apparating back to Hogwarts. Then with measured bounds, she hurried into the the castle and back into the safety of her office.

((Some time later))

Diana walked cautiously to Professor DeLanquar's Office. She wanted to ask if the Professor was really considering teaching Diana the skills needed to be an animagus. Diana desperately wanted to be one. Especially now that You-know-who was supposedly back.

She knocked at the door. "Professor?" Diana said. "It's Casillas."

Eglantine looked up from several papers she had been reading and shoved them quickly into her desk.

"Come in." she called, tucking her hands under the desk. They had been shaking violently since her encounter with Lord Voldemort.
