My Office

((It is not Umbridge... she was sentenced...not killed...wasn't she?))

"A pureblood witch named Vara Claven."

(well maybe she could have ecaped.... Never mind)


"Hmm, good thing she is already dead, I would kill her myself if she wasn't, She didn't harm the students did she?"

Again images from her past came to her mind.

"Oh no! We never let her touch the students. She was frightened by what the Ministry might do if she did and the parents as well. But the staff were easier to torture and keep from reporting."

Kiara sighed

"Good... for the students I mean"

Kiara bit her lip, she hadn't told anyone before about the nightmare of her first year at hogwarts. Not to any one. Most of the time she was able to push it back to her mind, But for some reason the flashes were resurfacing.


"They were lucky to have their Professors looking out for them." she said behind darkened eyes.

Eglantine said nothing as she returned her attention to Kiara.
"Were you not so fortunate?" she asked softly,

"Not exactly, unfortunatly for me hogwarts was not the safest place to be that year. Deatheater professors and an insane ministry department head, who learned of my muggle blood....."

Kiara sighed and pushed the flashes of memory down.

"You asked once if I had fought in the war, and I told you I was too young to have faught in it. I guess the wasn't entierly ture, I did fight in it, at hogwarts I rebeled against the deatheaters that resided in the school. After I was caught for over hearing them talk of plans for the capture of Harry Potter. That was my first taste of the sectumsempra curse, and the beginnging of my training was Severus Snape. He taught me the counter curse to sectumsempra. Then Umbridge discovered me, she found nothing wrong with casting the curciatus on a "Mudblood" like me. Only reason she stopped was because MacGonagall entered the room. Through out that year it wasn't only me recieving such treatment, many sympathizers got the same fate. I was only 12 years old and I had to used a lethal spell to stop the torture of one of the DA members....

So yes it is truthful to say I was not so fortunate. I guess that is why I am so protective now"

There was no tears in her eyes, but the was relief, she had finally been able to tell someone who she believed cared.

Eglantine swallowed thickly. She hated hearing about children being hurt, mentally or physically. There was something deeply evil about someone who hurt a child.

"You are a wonderful Headmistress. Never think any differently." It was not exactly in reply to her last statement, but it came from her heart.

"thanks Eglantine, that mean a lot... your actually the first person I ever told, what happened that year. Not even my mother knows about it"

"Thank you for telling me." She sighed and rose to her feet, using her cane. "How do you feel, now that you have eaten something?"

Kiara smiled,

"Much better, thank you....... I appreciated it. So how are you? last night was rather tramatic. You brought back Odessa's husband didn't you"

"He wasn't dead, just unconscious." Eglantine lied. "I am fine. A little rest and a potion was all I needed. But thank you for your concern."

"hmm if your sure, you seemed even more exhasted, then I was last night. was there anything else."

"My bond with Lord Voldemort is rather tiring. But I am fine, truly." She took up her cane and moved from Kiara. She bit her lip, trying to keep from turning and confessing she had lied. Instead she turned and asked a rather strange question.
"Do you know how to pin up hair?"

Kiara looked up at her and laughed.

"What? Well yes I know how, I usually where my hair down though, why do you ask?"

Eglantine smiled almost shyly.
"I could not...um...my hands..." she trailed off. She felt uncomfortable with her long hair curling around her face and back. She had not worn it down since she was a child.

Kiara smiled got up to took out a brush and a few hair pins from behind her desk.

"Alright, lets see what I can do, have a seat" said Kiara as she gestured to a seat.

Eglantine took the seat and sat patiently waiting for Kiara to help her with her hair.
"Thank you." she murmured.

Taking the brush Kiara ran it through Eglantine's hair, gently at first to make she didn't catch any tangles.

Then keeping in mind how Eglantine usually kept her hair she expertly pinned locks of her blond hair up into the familar bun the transfiguration Professor usually sported.

Waveing her wand, she conjured a mirror infornt of Eglantine.

"How is that?"

Eglantine smiled. "It is perfect. Thank you very much." she turned her head slightly to see her hair better in the mirror.
"You put it up better than I do." she laughed softly.

Placing the brush back in her desk Kiara smiled.

"I had a lot of practice, my mother used to be a hair dresser, I always watched as she did other peoples hair. Plus I was always the oldest in the muggle boarding school I went to over the summer, the dress code there was very strick, anyone with long hair had to have it put up. Many of the younger girls didn't know how to do it. So I was always the one they would come running to very morning"

"I am sure they greatly appreciated that." Eglantine remarked, her gaze drifting to the portraits lining the walls. "Do they talk to you often?" she asked, gesturing at the framed former Headmasters and Headmistresses.

Kiara looked up at the wall of portraits in amusement, Sev sent a glare back at her.

"Not really, exept Sev, but he mostly glares at me. The others sleep most of the time"

"Sev?" Eglantine approached the formidable potions master and raised an eyebrow. "I can not imagine how you call him that."

Kiara laughed as she looked at Snapes murderus stare.

"Ah yes, well you see, the moment I stepped into this office Sev did nothing but glare at me, I told him to stop or I would actually have to give him a reason to glare at me. He didn't so I gave him a reason, and called him Sev. Dumbledore got quite a kick out of it though"

"Headmaster Dumbledore speaks to you as well?" Eglantine exclaimed obviously impressed. "No wonder you excel at being Headmistress."
