Food and Drink (Yule Ball)

Ethan approached the pair and offered a rather large smile and a nod to the student, though grinned to Juria when she stated the more the merrier. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Raven," he said with a slight bow, the incline of his head making the glasses he wore slide half an inch down his nose.

"And Juria is quite right on that one - the more the merrier!"

"It's nice to meet you too Professor Addams" Raven forced a smile on her face trying to be friendly. She really didn't know what to say.

Juria smiled at both of them.

"Professor Addams teaches Herbology Raven. He is very good also."

Juria smiled, giving them something to talk about. She knew that sometimes meeting a new person was awkward unless you had something to talk about.

“He even made me this.”

Juria held up her wrist to show the flower’s on it that had been a present from Ethan.

"Herbology huh? I want to join that class..." Raven said looking at the flowers, "There very nice very well made."

Juria smiled and put her arm down, then picked up where they had left off,

"Oh yes, Raven, you didn’t answer my question, do you believe me about my age and birthday?"

Juria smiled; after Raven answered she would clue Ethan into what they had recently been talking about.

Raven looked at Juria, "Well i should trust you since your my friend..." Raven was still a little unsure about Juria and picked up another cheese.

"My god these things are addicting!" Raven laughed eating another.

Juria laughed and turned to Ethan,

"We were talking about our birthdays, by the way Ethan when is yours?"

Juria smiled at her date, realizing she had not known Ethan’s birthday.

Raven made sure she wouldn't interrupt there conversation so to keep herself from talking she grabbed some fruit punch and drank it.

Ethan laughed softly at Raven's comment about the food.

"Ah, I see," the wizard nodded, "Mine is on the ninth of June. Just another day for me, really... other than a reminder that I ain't getting any younger!" He laughed.

"Make sure you don't grow up too fast, eh?" Ethan remarked congenially to Raven, who seemed to be a bit shy. "Getting old's no fun at all."

Raven laughed, "Yeah I'm in no big rush to grow older." She threw the cup away and came back. She didn't even bother looking at the food she was too full from the cheese she ate.

Bella picked up a cup full of punch and handed it to Michael as she took another for herself. "Wonder what flavour it is..."

Becca came dancing to the food table she was having a wonderful time "Hello Raven, and Juria" she smiled while picking up a cup of juice from the table.

Raven looked at Becca, "Hello Becca I like you dress," she complimented not really wanting to start a conversation.

"Thank you!" Becca giggled. She put down her half finished cup of juice down and picked up a cracker and ate it.

Raven rolled her eyes she looked back at Juria and couldn't help admiring her dress. She thought it was beautiful.

Juria smiled while standing next to Ethan.

"Yes Becca, lovely dress... Have you met Professor Addams?"

Juria introduced the handsome man standing next to her. Juria smiled beautifully, not that she knew how she looked at this moment.

Her date having left her for another, and her bestfriend no where to be found, Helena found herself with one thought in mind. 'I need a drink.'

She headed towards the table with the drinks and got herself some punch noticing the small crowd that gathered there.

"Hello."

"Hello there."

Juria smiled to the girl, to be polite. She did not reconize the girl but she didnt mind meeting someone new.

Helena raised her punch glass at the hello.

"Some ball huh?" She said. It wasn't really sarcastic, nor was it one hundred percent genuine. Helena briefly wondered if she could get her drink spiked...

Juria smiled at the girl,

"It depends on where you look at it from."

Juria laughed a bit, this was the best ball so far for her since she had a handsome man as her date and had friends to talk to.

"Hope you are having a good time miss."

Juria didn’t know the girls name yet.

Helena realized Juria did not now who she was. She cut her sip short.

"Sorry, where are my manners, Helena Capulet," Helena said gesturing to herself. "I already know who you are, you're the school nurse."

Juria smiled at the girl, but in her mind she thought, "Doctor... Doctor..." But she never voiced it. Instead she smiled and replied,

"Yes, I am, it is nice to meet you Ms. Capulet. You can call me Juria."

Juria smiled and now that introductions were made she said,

"I like your dress Ms. Capulet."

Michael took the offered cup and thanked his date. "Dunno," he mumbled before taking a sip. "Hmm... raspberry and something else, I reckon," the Hufflepuff guessed. In exchange for the offered punch, Michael offered her a cracker with cheese. Sure, the cheese was in part an animal by-product, but the creature had not been slain. That was his biggest concern, being a semi-vegetarian: if the animal was killed, Michael refused to eat it. Milk was therefore perfectly fine. Eggs, on the other hand... the boy nearly shuddered at the thought whenever they were mentioned.

Ethan, miraculously, remained silent while Juria and the others conversed. He didn't want to interrupt, and yet wasn't quite sure how students would appreciate having a male professor voicing how nice their dresses were. Besides, he was no authority on dresses!

Boris strode over to the tables for food and drink, not really hungry or thirsty. He had removed his roadster hat and tucked it into the pocket of his dress robes, revealing the fauxhawk hairdo he often sported. Quite a few of the young ladies there appeared dateless, and considering he was now dateless it seemed like the place to be.

In an effort to blend in, the Russian teen acquired a cup of juice and stood a short ways away from the others.

Bella smiled as she accepted the cracker and cheese. "Why thank you." she exclaimed, taking a dainty bit from it and then sipping her drink...raspberry indeed and was that...pumpkin? she nearly gagged.

"Pumpkin I think." she returned, obviously not impressed. "So, do you have any preferences to food in general?" the question seemed appropriate for the setting... And having grown up under the shadow of a Black mother, Bellatrix Rosier was a pro at small talk. Genteel manners forced her to eat the cracker and cheese slowly... despite the fact she was rather hungry after having skipped her breakfast and lunch.

"Ah... yeah... pumpkin..." Michael acknowledged, not exactly impressed with the combination either. In fact, he had a bit of a time when he first got here getting his mind around the idea that pumpkin juice was the school's staple drink. In his opinion, pumpkins were for carving jack-o-lanterns or putting in vegetable variations of sushi... or even still used in some of his mother's recipes.

At her question regarding food, Michael grinned slightly and looked to the different types of food available. "Um... generally so long as nothing was butchered in the process, I'll eat it. I'm a semi-vegetarian," Michael explained. "Though... I do make exceptions, sometimes."

The Hufflepuff selected a cracker with cheese for himself and took a bite of it. Realizing he didn't fully answer her question, he did his best to hurry with his mouthful of food while retaining manners. "As to a particular preference... I tend to be rather fond of pineapple, though I like some Italian or Italian-ish dishes.

"What about you: any favorite foods in particular?"
