Food and Drink (Yule Ball)

Something to drink? eat? or a rest from dancing? a place to chit chat? all of the above?

Raven went and got something to drink and sat down watching everyone dance and listening to the music. She didn't have a date and didn't feel like dancing so she just sat there drinking and watching everyone

Juria wandered to the table with food and drinks, getting a simple drink she saw Raven a few feet away, sitting. Juria was dressed in an elegant ball gown, white with a red upper part and red flowers cascading down the front with ivy. In the center was a diamond jewel and Juria had on a collar of diamonds. Her hair fell gently around her, long and curly like normal

Juria wondered where Ethan was, he was sure to arrive any second now and she wanted to be sure to thank him for even thinking of inviting her. However since at the present time, Ethan was no where to be seen, Juria decided to go and have a nice chat with the Slytherin girl. Walking to her and smiling she complimented,

“Hello Raven, I love your dress.”

Raven turned her head and saw the school nurse Juria and stood up and smiled,

"Hello Juria, and thank you I love your dress as well you look very beautiful in it," she complimented back. Raven took one last sip of her drink and threw it away.

"So who is you date?" Raven asked curiously.

Juria smiled at the young girl,

"Why thank you Raven... and I am here with Professor Addams."

Juria smiled, she didn’t say "Ethan" but instead what he was called as a professor.

"Did you come with anyone Raven? Or are you too good for all the boys here anyway?"

Juria laughed and smiled.

"Ah, very interesting" Raven didn't really care at all who she was dating she was just bored.

"Oh, well...I don't have a date nobody asked me out I'm just here to see how the Yule Ball is," Raven had a small hint of sadness in her eyes wishing she did have a date and she thought that she wasn't pretty enough to have a boyfriend or a date.

Juria smiled, wondering if Raven had asked her who she came with just for the fact of saying something nice rather than wanting to know.

"Hmm, don’t worry, before this year I had never been on a date, you are not alone Raven"

Juria laughed, she knew how the girl felt, not getting anyone to ask her when she was in school.

"At my first Yule ball, no one even spoke to me about the dance. Trust me Raven, it is not hopeless and yes you are pretty. Just all the boys here are just idiots..."

Juria smiled, hoping that what she said comforted the girl.

Raven smiled shyly she was glad that Juria was her friend and was at the Yule Ball or she wouldn't have anyone to talk to. The next Christmas song came on and Raven picked up tooth pick with a cube cheese on it.

"I never really tried these cube cheese before and examined the yellow cheese and then ate. She started chewing it and thought it was O.K,

"Not bad," she said.

Juria looked around to see if Ethan was anywhere near and then laughed as Raven had inspected the cheese then ate it.

"If you say so, I’m fonder of brie cheese or munster cheese."

Juria smiled, knowing that the cheese that Raven had tasted was cheddar.

"Dont you love the decorations?" Juria asked and smiled at the girl.

"I love cheese but i never ate cubed cheese... I don't know what the difference is though of regular cheese and cubed cheese." Raven complimented the cheese and looked around the room,

"Yes, the decorations are very nice. I love Christmas time all the lovely lights, the tree and the smell of the pine, all the joy and happy children are when they receive there presents..." Raven paused she hasn't gotten one gift after her father died and she knew she wouldn't be getting much gifts from anyone since she hasn't made hardly any friends at Hogwarts besides Juria.

Juria smiled at how Raven described her history with cheese. Juria laughed as she remembered something,

"Oh yes that is right Raven, I have something for you... I left it in my quarters though… ill get it to you soon as I can."

Juria smiled, she had seen how Raven loved books and because Juria had been with her at the time she had gotten sick, Juria had bought a series of books that had been her favorite when she was Raven's age. She had bought the books when she went to Diagon Alley.

Raven looked at her and smiled, "You didn't have to give me anything Juria and now you will make me feel bad since I didn't give you a gift," Raven actually did feel bad for not buying anything for Juria she would have to think up of something fast and just give it to her so she wouldn't feel so guilty.

"But thank you for buying me something Juria I really do appreciate it," Raven said as she picked up a different type of cube cheese this time it was yellow and white.

"I could never tell the difference by the colors of these stupid cheese," Raven said annoyed as she popped the cheese inside her mouth.

Juria smiled, she was glad to get someone a gift, making people happy was what she enjoyed doing. Sure the reasons for this were also because she felt as if she owed everyone for what she had originally been forced to do... however Juria was mostly a very friendly person.

"Don’t mention it; I think you will like it"

Juria said with a wink, indicating that it was going to be a surprise for Raven.

"Yeah, I don’t know too many cheeses myself… I just know a few."

Juria said with a laugh.

Raven let out a small laugh and was wondering why they were talking about cheese. Raven looked at all the cheese, there weren't much of a variety but she had no more. She went and threw the toothpicks away and walked back to Juria and smiled at her,

"I'll get you something Juria don't feel left out," I laughed.

((omg i can't type my right index finger is faster then my left so every time when i type something it comes out as somehting lmao im weird))

"Oh no, please don’t Raven, just tell me Merry Christmas and that will be a present enough."

Juria smiled, hoping that Raven wouldn’t try to get her anything. Juria wanted to let the girl keep whatever money she got. Juria didn’t need anything really, and also she always was afraid that she might lose it or something around those lines.

"So, how have you been feeling?"

Juria changed the subject to talk about Raven but after she said it, it sounded very suspiciously as how a doctor would ask... then again she was a doctor. However Juria had not said it in a doctor way, she said it to be in a friend way.

((ooh poor you, sometimes that happens to me but not all the time =])

"No, insist it would make me feel better" Raven gave a smile and wondering why she was changing the subject,

"I'm feeling fine nothing really major has happened maybe a few scrapes here and there but nothing to worry about though," Raven was happy to have a real friend even if it was a grown-up or worse a doctor but Juria was different for Raven though and she didn't care if Juria was a doctor or not.

"No really, I insist, tell me Merry Christmas and it will count!"

Juria said with a laugh.

"Thats good, thats good... I hope I didnt sound too much like a doctor there."

Juria smiled and informed the girl.

"Ok, Merry Christmas" Raven said but she was still giving her something even if it's small.

"Oh, no, it's ok i know it's your job I understand" Raven laughed.

Juria smiled, still wondering if Raven was going to get her something.

"Well I didn’t mean to say it in a doctor way, I generally wanted to see how you were doing."

Juria laughed.

"You know, when I was here so many years ago, I don’t think that the decorations were this luxurious... it is that or I was too lost in my book to think about it..."

Juria smiled at her past memory of not going with anyone so she sat and read for the entire ball.

"It's fine" Raven said.

"I bet it did change new ornaments maybe I don't know" Raven was admiring the huge Christmas tree she has never seen anything like it before,

"That is the biggest Christmas tree i have seen in my life!" Raven loved how the tree was decorated. The snow and the ornaments it seemed so happy.

Juria laughed, she looked at the tree also.

"Yes it does look special doesn’t it?"

Juria smiled as her eyes drifted up and down it.

"So Raven how have your classes been going?"

Juria asked, just to keep small talk.

Raven still looking at the tree she answered, "My classes are going fine a little difficult but nothing to worry about," Raven smiled and looked at Juria admiring her dress, "I really love your dress!" Raven complimented her.

Juria smiled,

"Thank you Raven. I think the greatest thing about it was that it went with these sleeve-gloves that I got about 2 years ago, they look like they match but they really don’t."

Juria laughed and smiled, she thought it was somewhat of a funny inside joke.

"Your dress is beautiful also."

Juria smiled, it was unusual to see all of the students out of uniform and in something stunning for once.

"Hey it looks fine" Raven said grabbing another cube cheese, "these are surprisingly good" Raven laughed as she ate her last one.

"My dress was the last one on the shelf I was doing my last minute shopping and I just saw it there" she smiled and drank some water to wash down all the cheeese.

"Yeah? I wasn’t sure I was going to wear this one, I got it a year ago for a dinner we had for a doctor's assembly... so I had been looking for another one but didn’t find it. That is a good deal if you had to get it last minute"

Juria smiled at Raven. She looked very pretty in the blue dress that was similar to the color of Juria's eyes.

"How on earth did no one else find it?"

Juria asked the Slytherin girl.
