August 16th 2019, Northern scotland...shoreside

It was the early in morning, around breakast time, if you ate breakfast at 7 am when Kiara woke up. She wasn't sure why she was up. She felt tired, but for some reason could sleep no longer, and she also felt odd, differnet. She wasn't in any pain or anything but she did feel off.. she couldn't quite put her fingure on it.

Perhaps it was because she was now officaly 3 months pregnant, a thought that still scared her, but she tried not to let if weigh her down to much, or let it be known how terrifed she was that she and this baby had a higher chance of both of them dieing then both of them living.

To this day she didn't know how to explaine that to Ciaran, she told him she worried for the babies health yes. but not to the extremes she really meant.

Slowly she got out of bed and stood up.. this may bave been the first indication the something was wrong when the room spun for a few sconds and she found her self falling back into bed, almost passing out, but not quite.

She growned and closed her eyes waiting for the dizzy spell to pass... before sitting back up again and sighed still holding her forehead in her hands, and letting out a shaky breath.

Ciaran yawned and sat up from his side of the bed. His blue eyes moved as his head turned and he raised an eyebrow at Kiara.
"Ya all right, love?" he asked, tired and rather sleepy. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and rose. The floor was cold on his bare feet, but his concern for his wife was greater than his discomfort.

Kiara breathed out, slowly, as her vision came back into focus, and she blinked the haze away.

"I...I'am fine, just a dizzy spell..stood up to fast" she said as she tried to even out her breathing once again.

Then she stood up cautiously this time, prepared to fall back in bed if she needed to. To her great relief the room stayed still this time.

"Probably just need something to eat" she said with a smile in a effort to convince him she was fine.

Or more to convince herself she was fine, she wasn't sure.

Ciaran nodded, not entirely sure that his wife was okay, but willing to accept that it was just a dizzy spell.
"I'll be making breakfast here. What ya want?" He asked, slipping his robe over his sleepwear. His slippers slid onto his feet and he placed Kiara's slippers in front of her so she wouldn't have to hunt for them.

Kiara bit her lip, as she slipped her feet into her slippers.

She didn't actually feel hungry, quite the opposite, but she didn't eat much the day before and she knew she had to eat more.

"Whatever you feel like having dear, I have no preference today" she said sommoning she rode to her.

Walking out to the Kitchen she sat at the table, "Anything I can do to help?" she asked. Thought she doubted he would let her help with much, she would always ask. He just may give into her one day.

Ciaran followed Kiara out into the kitchen and began to hum softly as he pulled out a frying pan. He found it odd that she didn't seem that hungry. When his first wife had been pregnant with Tav, she had always been eating something. But he figured every woman was different and pulled a pack of eggs from the fridge.
"How do eggs sound, love?" he asked, pouring some oil into a pan. "And no, ya can just relax." He lit the gas stove with a match and soon was stirring the eggs with a spatula.
"Bit under the weather this morning?" he asked, glancing at his wife over his shoulder.

Kiara swallowed when he asked of she wanted her eggs... Now that she thought about she wasn't sure if she would be able to eat them as she felt a bit nausous.
Her head started to feel light again,

"They sound fine, I suppose" she said, her voice sounding foggy to her own ears.

At his question she sighed, all of a sudden she didn't feel well at all, it was at this point all blood seemed to rush out of her face. In fact she felt like she was going pass out.

Having no other choice she placed her head in her hand again.

"Yeah... y you could say that....." there was a certain unsteadiness in her voice

To anyone who knew her well, knew that her admiting she felt unwell it must have been serious.

"I, don't. know..." that was as far as she got when her world tilted to one side, and she fell.

Ciaran had turned back to the eggs when Kiara said they sounded fine. He turned again however, when he heard her stammer out her next few statements. It wasn't like her to admit to not feeling well and it concerned him greatly. Then she collapsed. Moving the pan quickly to the other burner, he raced to her side and picked her up. Patting her cheek, he begged her to open her eyes.

"Come on lass. Ya gotta be hearing me." He muttered, panic flaring in him. Tav walked into the room, yawning and rubbing his eyes.
"Tavish! Call Horatio!" The boy's eyes widened when he saw his stepmother and he hurried to do as he was told.

Kiara felt her self be picked up and Ciaran voice through the haze.

She with great effort opened her eyes, it was still quite dark and blurry, but she was awake.

"I.. I am sorry, I"

She then felt a unusually sharp pain in her abbdoman and she winced.

Then she whispered, "No..no please no" she said as tears filled her eyes. She turned her head resting it in Ciaran's arms.

"Something is wrong" she whispered.
"I.. am sorry, I think....I.." she felt blood leave her head, and she felt herself start to fade again.

"No need ta be sorry, lass. Tav is calling Eglantine. She'll be able ta help ya, aye." He picked her up from the floor and carried her into their bedroom.
"Where's it hurt, Ara?" he asked, lying her on top of the covers. He tried to seem calm so not to upset her, but it was difficult. Tav ran in from the other room.

"She's coming, Da." he stated, walking up to the side of the bed. "Are you going to be okay, Mum?" he asked, tears shone in his eyes.

Kiara drew a shaky breath, but it was like she could not get enough air .

When he asked where she hurt she choked back a sob and she hand went to her still flat stomach. She feared the was little Eglantine could do.

When Tav came in the room and asked of she would be alright.

"I will... be fine my little prince, don't cry... I will be alright" although as much as she tried to keep the fear she would not be out of her voice, she could not. As another stab of pain went through her agian, she bit her lip and her hand darted to Ciaran's.

Ciaran sent Tav out of the room and held Kiara's hand in both of his. Very little time passed from when Tav came in to say that Eglantine was on her way to when she arrived. Her hair was down and she had obviously dressed very quickly.

"Kiara, it will be alright." she murmured, casting a quick diagnosis spell. Her pale face drained and she swallowed.
"You're hemorrhaging badly, Kiara. I don't think I can save the child."

Kiara nodded "I was... afraid.. of.. that" she said obviously having trouble getting enough oxygen into her blood stream, caused by the blood loss and and the great amont of pain she was in.

She could hear her heart beat in her ears it was going faster and faster, as it tried to replace the blood.

Tears streamed down her face as she looked at Ciaran sadly, " I....am sorry... its my fault.... it's my potions.... they must have..... must have."

She felt her vision go as she winced again, this time blood could be seen on to her bed sheets.

Eglantine conjured a wet cloth and laid it over Kiara's forehead. Tear shimmered unshed in Ciaran's eyes as he watched Eglantine administer a blood-replenishing potion and several others to Kiara.

"Hush, love. Its not ya fault." he muttered.

Kiara was breathing heavily, almost gasping for air now. plus it didn't help that she couldn't stop the sobs that came from her throat.

What they didn't know was that she didn't take her potions during the full moon when she found out she was with child. To take them would have been certain death for both of them. However it was discouver by the healer that the potion she used for her longs was now always in her blood stream, as she used it very often.

Then the most terrifing amound to pain, it was hightly painfull on a physical level, but torture on a emotional level.

She screamed blood murder when she felt the child pass through her. That scream lasted for a total of 2 or 3 seconds. Before she brought her hand up to her mouth, block most of the loud scream.

She had lost it, the baby gone. She felt so incredibly tired, she could not stay awake.

Right befprre she lost all her focus, she turned her pale face to Ciaran.

She wanted to say one last thing.... just in case.

"I love you"

Then with that said she fell into a deep asleep, not to wake up again for 3 days.

"Kiara!" Ciaran whispered, tears streaming down his face. His body shook as he sobbed. He had no idea what Eglantine was doing as his entire being was focused on his unconscious wife. Her scream played over and over in his mind numbing and ripping through him all at the same moment.

"She is just sleeping." Eglantine murmured. Ciaran looked up at her, anger rippling through him at how calm the older woman sounded.
"What is wrong with ya?" he asked, each word hard and stony. Eglantine did not reply.

~3 days later!~

Eglantine sat, asleep at Kiara's bedside. Ciaran was in the kitchen eating for the first time since the day Kiara had lost the baby. And Tav was drawing in a notebook on the floor against the wall. His eyes every so often trailed up to his mother's bed.

Kiara oppened her eyes again, completely unawere of the length o f time she had been aslseep.

She grouned as the world came into focus,unable to really said just one name she felt like saying.

"Love!?" she said almost bolting up in her bed.

Eglantine jumped in her seat and turned quickly to look at Kiara. "Tavish, go and get your father, quickly." she murmured. The boy ran to do as she had told him and she unsteadily rose to her feet, accioing her cane which was leaning against the wall.
"You're awake. How do you feel?" she asked, joy shone in her eyes, despite how tired she was.

"Kiara!" Ciaran ran into the room and carefully enveloped his wife in his arms. "Ya alright, ya alright." he murmured over and over. Tav stood behind his father, beaming.

When Eglantine asked how she felt, she didn't know how to answer, she felt horribe yet wonderful at the sametime. Horrble from the knowlegde she hadn't just been dreaming, it had happened. and the of coures she had a bit of disconfort around her stomach, but compared to how it had felt to they last time she had been awake it was barely noticeable. Yet wonderful at the knolegde she had not died, for there had been a good chance she could have.

So she could only think of one word to answer Eglantines question and she huged Ciaran back with everything she had.

"I am alive Eglantine, I am alive"

She returned Ciaran's hug a best she could consicerding her just woke up form a 3 day mini coma.

"Yes, ,my dear I am alright, shh" she said holding on to him tightly.

Pausing after a moment she motioned for Tav to join in on the hug to.

"Oh I love you all.... so much"....
