Lasharna Hall (Located in France)

Madame Genevieve Lasharna seated herself in front of the fireplace. She had just finished sending her dearest friend, Eglantine DeLanquar a birthday bouquet of roses and now was sifting through papers that needed to be signed, sorted and sent.

Genevieve was a tall woman, just under two meters, with jet black hair, a rather thin mouth and large soft doe eyes. She had obviously come from line of good breeding due to her small hands and slender shoulders. Of course, she was no longer as slender as she had been in her prime, but no one could fault her excellent physical shape.

She had been the Headmistress of Beauxbatons for nearly 19 years now, ever since the former Headmistress had had her unfortunate accident. Of course everyone knew better than to question the incident. Only five years had been wasted, in her opinion, to her marriage to Monsieur Ansel Lasharna and she only viewed the marriage only in light that it had given her her two darlings, Lisette and precious Elenore.

Lisette was twenty years old and living with her fiance somewhere in magical Japan. Genevieve had already made it clear to her eldest that unless she left the "slanted eyed cretin", she would be disowned. As she had expected, Lisette had ignored her, both angering her and making her proud. If anything, she had taught her daughter how to be strong willed and independent.

Of course, Elenore was her pride and joy; the apple of her eye. No doubt she would become Bauxbaton's champion and set a higher goal for her life than to be enslaved to a man.

Éléonore approached her mother's relaxing form tentively, tilting her head slightly to make sure her mother was awake and she would not be disturbing her. When it was clear that Genevieve was wide awake, she stepped closer with a charming smile.

"Maman? Would zis be suitable for when we arrive at 'ogwarts?" she gestured to the outfit she was wearing: a form-fitting emerald halter top with a rather short midnight skirt.

Genevieve beamed up at her daughter.
"Oui, mon chérie." she exclaimed, motioning for Elenore to turn around. "Of coz zis vill be perfect." She patted her daughter's cheek.
"Join me?"

Éléonore's smile widened as she obliged, happily taking a seat beside her mother, resting her head against Genevieve's shoulder.

"Oh la la, maman. I 'ave not slept all week thinking about 'ogwarts. What to pack, what to do, what to say when I arrive. Oh maman! What if they think I am not good enough to represent Beauxbatons? That I'm not smart enough, not wity enough, not clever enough, not pretty enough!" she exclaimed, biting her lip nervously, as she lifted her head and looked to her mother for reassurance. In a lower voice she added. "What if they do not like me?"

Genevieve wrapped an arm around her precious darling. Stroking her hair, she kissed the top of her head.
"No, we cannot be zinking zis vay. Day vill adore you." she assured her. "You are parfait in mazy vays. De ozers children vill szand no zance."

She straightened up, forcing Elenore to look up as well. "You remember Prezor Eglantine DeLanquar, oui? She zame to see you zen you were neuf."

Éléonore smiled at her mother's reassurance, nodding at her inquiry. "Oui, maman. La petite Professeur?"

Genevieve nodded, "Zoday is her birzay. Maman zent her roses diz year. You are lozing happy to zee Hogvorts, yes?"

Éléonore shrugged. "Bien sur. But oof courze I know zar 'Ogwarts eez nothing compared to Beauxbatons!" she beamed proudly.

Genevieve kissed her daughter's temple. "Dat's Maman's cherie." she laughed. "You finish paczing, yes?"

"Oui." Éléonore replied. "But for ze Yule Ball, I cannot decide vat to vear..." she bit her lip thoughtfully.

"De azur zon wizout de back iz parfait on you." Genevieve murmured. Of course she believed that everything her daughter wore was perfect.

Eleonore wrinkled her nose. "Le azure? C'est horrible! Eet makes me look fat! Oh no no no." she shook her head. "Maman, can I buy a new dress?" she pleaded, using the "puppy eyes"

She should have seen that coming...she thought. The little darling...

"Oui, my pet." she chuckled, patting her daughter's cheek. "Vatever you désir."

Eleonore struggled to contain herself. "And new shoes and make up?" she asked, her voice dripping with glee.

Genevieve laughed loudly, standing up from the couch. Being a very tall woman she easily stepped over the stack of books in front of the couch.

"Oui, Elenore. Shoes and makeup." Fishing into her pocket, she pulled out the key to the family vault. "Anzing you vant." she smiled, handing her youngest daughter the key. Of course, that was not an exaggeration. With the Lasharna fortune, the girl could buy anything she wanted and still hardly make a dent.

Eleonore beamed and hugged her mother. "Merci, maman, merci!" she exclaimed as she took the key.

"I 'ad better go. I told Sebastien I vould meet 'im at Medusaka." she explained, Sebastian being a boy in the same year as her that she had a bit of a crush on.

Genevieve smiled and kissed the top of her daughter's head.
"Give Sebastien my best, yes." she muttered. Her daughter's friend was much for suitable than Lisette's.

"Oui. Au revoir, maman." Eleonore waved as she went along her merry way.

Genevieve went into her study and closed the door. Seating herself at her desk, she began to finish the necessary paperwork.
