The Three Broomsticks

Darien raised an eyebrow.
"Oh yes, because I am clearly the one at fault here! I clearly was standing right here and somehow made you walk into me by being here."
He folded his arms.
"You Gryffindors..." he noticed Nick, Borisand the other Gryffies. His eyes narrowed.
"Look who it is...It's the whole durmstrang-turned-gryffie club!"

"Ugh, whatever, just move out of the way would you?" Helena said impatiently.

"Why don't you walk around? Go on, move the whole step to one side, you know you can do it!" Darien goaded.

"Gawd!" Helena said exasperatedly. "You're such an annoying prick! You go after your girlfriend, she's rather upset at the moment!" Helena said poking Darien's chest.

Darien stepped backwards slightly.
"Why?" He glared at Nick and Boris.
"What did you do?!"

"Well look who it is," Nicolas said folding his arms and throwing Boris a look. "Speak of the devil and he shall come."

"They didn't do anything," Helena said. "She was just being oversensitive."

Darien snarled.
"Diana is never oversensitive!"
His glare intensified. "What did you two say to her?!"

"Obviously, you're rubbing off on her then." Nicolas said boredly.

Helena met the eyes of the bar-maid. She looked from Nicolas to Darien and sensed a fight. "Listen, Vaight, she was upset because you two fight all the time... now unless you want to do the very thing that's getting her upset in the first place... you'd stand down." She hoped that would get through him.

"Yes, Darien, stand down or else Diana will get mad." Nicolas egged him. The other Gryffindors laughed.

Darien snarled again.
"Silence Hellie. Just the men are talking."
He nodded at the barmaid and stepped backwards.
"Care to take this outside Gryffies? Or are you lot too cowardly? What about the contwisters and their 'bravery'?"
His eyes hardened. Memories of Durmstrang sprang to the front of his mind and he was filled with rage.
They hadn't stopped Jake/Gleb being used as a Horcrux...he'd tried...but they'd not finished the job!
Jake...Diana...Jake...Diana...
His fury mounted and his eyes gleamed, the normal irises clouded by rage, turning almost black.

"What do you think Boris?" Nicolas said smiling. He wanted to go outside.

Boris nodded at Helena's farewell. She seemed a lot more at ease than Diana, that was for certain!

However, the familiar voice of Darien Vaight made his eyes narrow. Boris turned in his seat to regard the other boy with a combination of disdain, disgust, and outright malice. "Vell, you obviously left me out of that statement, as I do not attend Hogvarts," Boris commented to Darien in what was clearly the sardonic tone of a smart-aleck. A black eyebrow rose at the sudden accusations slung at him and Nick.

"So it vould seem," he said to Nick, catching his expression and returning a similar one. As Darien continued to demand answers, Boris examined the fingernails of his hand boredly and deliberately intended not to say a word that would answer such an inquiry. Just to prove what side he was on despite not being in or feeling as if he truly would belong to Gryffindor House, Boris laughed with the lot when they did. It would be rather interesting to end up sharing a common room with the Slytherins, that much Boris was certain of.

At the question Nick posed, Boris threw him another look. "Do you really need to ask?" he countered, rising from his seat. "I have not yet seen the rest of the village, after all..." It was his way of saying that he was going outside, regardless of the consequences. He'd already submitted his name for the tournament: if his name is selected he would be bound to comply. Either way, Boris felt he was in a win-win situation: he would join in this going outside, and he would compete in the tournament. A smirk twisted upon his thin lips at the thought.

Darien smiled, a smile of ice.
"If only Jake was here. He'd have liked to help me."
He turned on his heel and walked outside the pub, into the cool breeze.

"And Merlin knows you vill need all the help you can get," Boris remarked arrogantly and followed Vaight, arms crossed, the wind ruffling his faux hawk slightly. Lodging in the magically-enlarged Slytherin dorms was going to be very interesting, indeed, what with the entirety of the Conquistadors having come to submit their names for the Tournament. Well... everyone except "Gleb".

Nicolas smirked to the other Gryffindor boys and said, "Well, outside then."

He stood up and followed Boris and Darien out, giving a slight bow to the Bar-maid.

((Some time after the above))

Boris and Diana approached the door to the pub, for all intents and purposes arm-in-arm in a slightly awkward sort of way. Approaching the door, Boris relinquished the arm and strode over to the solid maple structure. Pulling it open, the teenage wizard from Russia bowed and said with the same smile he'd had upon leaving Honeydukes, "Ladies first."

He earned a small smile from Diana and a thank you. She entered the pub, found a vacant table and sat down. She managed to gracefully unclasp her school robes depsite the stubborn little buckle.

Boris decided he rather liked that smile, and would accept the challenge of finding ways to make it appear more often. Once she was through the doorway he followed her lead to the table. Before taking his seat, Boris undid the clasp on his cloak and draped it across the chair opposite Diana.

"Is there... anything I can do to help make you feel better?" he asked after a few awkward moments of silence between them. Despite all of his previous girlfriends, he still wasn't quite sure how to approach Diana without sacrificing the bulk of who he was. That is, if his and Nick's plan was to have any kind of success. Perhaps it wouldn't be too bad a thing to change his ways, just a little, for Diana's benefit.

...... but only when around Diana.

Diana shook her head. "No. I don't think so."

Diana didn't really feel like talking about it. But the silence around both of them was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable. In an attempt to placate it, she decided to ask about his past.

"So how did you and Nicolas get to be friends?"

Raven and Becca sat down at a table waiting for their butterbeer, "So how are your classes Becca? Are they fun?" She asked starting a conversation.

Raven's elbow was on the table and she was supporting her head on her hand. She looked around seeing all the people talking and having fun while drinking there butterbeer.

Becca smiled and answered "I love my classes I really enjoy them very much how about yours?"

"Mine are alright nothing special, but a lot of work trust me." Raven voice sounded bored and she had a bored face. When the butterbeer came Raven hers and sipped a little bit, "Mmm I haven't drank one of these in the longest time."

Becca looked at it awkwardly and asked "What is this!?"

"It's butterbeer, it's the best drink you ever tasted." Raven said taking another sip, she was now glad she came now the taste of the drink took all her stress and worries away.

Becca thought it was weird but tried it anyways. Her eyes widened when she ook her first taste of the drink "OH MY GOD THIS TASTE SO GOOD!" She said surprisingly.
