Intresting Historical facts about this astounding street...
1. It is said that King Arthur's least favourite stone on the British Isles (The one he stubbed his toe on twice in quick succession) is buried deep below this road, covered by an assortment of other bricks the kings didn't like, but liked significantly more than the despised stone...
2. 2nd June 1956 the entire street was used as the key point for the pivotal recreation of the brick burying.
3. 3rd June 1956: the recreators were sued by Welo Ve Roads for digging up the street and misplacing an antique cobblestone.
4. The first Minister for Magic in Great Britain tripped and fell on this street.
5. Dumbledore is said to have skinned his knees on a cobblestone as a student...then again as Headmaster.
6. This street was the sight of the first extreme hop-skotch championships.
7. Harry Potter got dumped by a crying Cho Chang in this street.

Darien stopped outside the pub, waiting for Nick and Boris to follow him.
They were going to pay...
For Jake and Diana.
He raised his wand and waited.

Amy and Aiden watched from the side, hidden in the shadpws.

"Something is up" Aiden thought.

"I know.. Lets watch for now and we will see"

"Come on Gryffies...and Boris. You cowardly slimes are finally going to pay."
Darien's irises were now almost completely grey with misted anger.

Boris had his own wand drawn by the time he reached the street, arms no longer crossed over his chest. "Cowvardly slime? Funny... I could say the exact same thing about you," Boris replied, his chocolate eyes shining like onyx in this light. "Though... I vould be too polite in doing so. I regret to say that vords cannot describe the sight before me." To make sure there was no confusion, Boris gestured to Darien rather lazily.

He didn't really care to hear the Vaight lad's opinion of what he was supposed to be "paying for". Boris had done his best with the incident at Durmstrang - it wasn't his fault aurors had arrived and hence prevented him and the rest of the class from finishing the job. Not that he could or would even attempt to get Darien to see it that way. They'd been enemies practically since the first time Boris had been congenial towards Nicolas; and the animosity continued to grow when they'd created their separate "gangs". There was no point in trying to turn an apple into an orange with words alone. That's where this face-off came in.

Now, if Vaight was referring to upsetting the overactive Diana. . . well, Boris just might acknowledge that one. Barely. "Do you have any terms or last vishes? Perhaps you should also tell me the names of your next of kin as vell..." the Durmstrang delegate questioned mockingly. It would be pointless to do anything too serious out here in front of witnesses, but Boris tended to exaggerate quite a bit.

Darien rolled his eyes. "Such a drama queen."
He knew he was outnumbered, but right now he wasn't really thinking. His anger was ruling him, and rational thought was expelled from his mind.
If he had been in his right mind, he would've realised that he was outnumbered 1 to about four, and that boded ill. But Darien was hardly famous for thought and rational or logical thought. At least he was still in human form...
At the moment...

"Alright, so two against one is hardly fair." Nicolas said as if he was really concerned.

"Boris? Would you like to do the honours?"

"Talking about yourself, Vaight?" Boris taunted, his voice not sounding offended. A good look at the position of the scowl on his face, however, would say otherwise.

Boris rolled his eyes in response to the odds not being fair, though it was partly in play toward Nick. The rest of what was going on in his head was simply indifference. "Gladly. I assume the two of you duel enough up at Hogvarts as it is, if you're letting me go first?" he asked Nick with a slight laugh before turning back to Darien, wand at the ready. It had been a little while since Boris had started an "unsanctioned" duel with a member of Darien's old clique he'd founded while at Durmstrang... or Darien himself, for that matter.

"Yes and I want you to have a little fun first before I finish him off." Nicoals said grinning.

Darien made no reply, waiting coldly, his view misted by anger.
The wolf part of him gave a jerk as it crashed into the mental barrier, but stayed stuck behind it...for now.

Nicolas smirked at Darien then slapped Boris' back. "Good luck mate... though I know you won't need it... especially since your opponent isn't much of one."

Darien snarled and hurled a retort at Nick and Boris.
Unfortunantly, only a wolf would understand it, as it was a series of growls and snarls.
Darien didn't even notice.

"Indeed - not much of an opponent at all. But it is the thought that counts, right?" Boris replied, clapping Nick briefly on the shoulder before removing said hand and turning to address the other lad who had clearly uttered... something. It didn't sound very pleasant, that's for sure.

"Hairball, Vaight?" Boris smirked, secretly curious as to what that had been about. He did have a slight suspicion, but was too cocky at the moment to really give two hoots. ((owl joke... ^_^))

"As I am the guest here, I shall make the first move," Boris announced, the slight incline of his head being about all of a bow he was willing to bestow as per the niceties of dueling. His dark eyes never moved from their target.

"...Diffindo!" Boris yelled, his wand directing where the spell would be aimed: Darien's arm. He would have preferred 'sectumsempra' but decided to save that spell for later. No sense in opening with all one has first: that's what a grand finale was for. Besides, this was just a "warning shot" of sorts... or was it?

Darien's mind didn't register the spell coming towards him, or it connecting with his arm.

He didn't notice the pain as the nerves in his arm screamed.
He didn't recognise the tiny electric pulse from the nerves, trying to tell his brain what had happened.
He didn't feel the sticky wetness as blood spread from the cut.
He didn't see the dark red began to soak through his robes.

The inward struggle was commanding too much of his attention. He pushed it aside and tried to focus on the duel.

He snarled and managed to non-verbally cast a full body bind curse at Boris.

Amy and Aiden observed from the side out of sight. They knew enough about Darien that he faught his own battles, and that intergering with a duel like that would be dangerous for everyone. Which was why they had not messaged Darien they were there.

"Sounds as if he is looseing it to me, that growl sound to wolfish for my liking" Amy thought.

"hmm we will wait until we are need, let see how Dar handles it..... curious what will you going to do about Nicky huh?" Aiden thought.


"I told him me and Darien were friends.... it worsed comes to worsed he will not be speared a hex or two"

Boris had no idea what was being thrown at him, but in his duels with Sevastyan over the Durmstrang holidays he'd learned that sometimes it was just better to not be so dependent on magic and just move the heck out of the way. Thus, that is precisely what Boris did: he ducked and rolled to the right, out of the path of the oncoming spell.

Teeth bared in an overconfident grin. 'Vell, if you vant to play that vay, then let's play!' Boris mused with dark glee. *Impedimenta!* Boris thought, performing the required wand movements. Clearly he was playing up the drama of the moment as he was not taking this very seriously. Though he absolutely did not like being called a 'drama queen' he was in a rather good mood... otherwise curses would have started flying much sooner, and with a greater intensity.

Darien managed to focus for long enough to block the attack and respond with a double stunner, also non-verbal.
He didn't trust himself to speak like a human yet, and he didn't want to see how wolf language affected the outcome of spells...

Nicolas watched the battle interestedly and he cheered Boris on.

By the door of 3 broomsticks, Helena shook her head. "Why did I even bother to try and stop this?" She figured the best thing to do now was to find Diana and did so accordingly.

Boris managed to dodge one stunning spell, but the second clipped his left shoulder. Immediately he froze in place, stunned, and staggered slightly to the right. Shaking his head in the hopes to clear the black spots dancing before his eyes, Boris cast a shield charm around himself in the event Darien attempted something against respectful dueling technique. Not, that, of course, Boris was exactly Mr. Honorable Duelist of the Year. Because he wasn't!

In an attempt to catch Vaight by surprise, Boris sent a silent Knee-reversing hex his way just as he'd heard Helena's comment. However, the Russian wizard ignored it.

Darien's flickering concentration allowed the hex to pass through, reversing his left knee.
He dropped his wand as his leg twitched under him.
Darien scrunched his eyes shut, trying to maintain control.
He failed.

His wand clattered to the floor, and he leapt upwards, rolling, landing on all fours.
Somehow the transformation had repaired his knee and he howled in Boris' face, preparing himself to attack.

Darien was lost.
Inside the mental walls the wolf imprisoned him in, the human self yelled and tried to break through. But the wolf pushed him back effortlessly. Darien could only watch helplessly as he completely lost his mind...for the first time since the last duelling competition...

Boris's raven brows furrowed when he noticed the wand drop from his opponent's hand. Was he giving up? This hadn't been much of a duel... he mused with a sense of satisfaction.

The last thing Boris had expected was for the Slytherin to revert to his animagus form out on the streets, but he refused to outwardly show he'd been surprised. A look that seemed to be a combination of a wince and as if something slimy and gross had been slid down the back of his neck dominated Boris' countenance in response to the howl.

"My, you're a loud vone," Boris scoffed as he tucked away his wand. With a confident grin that was slightly toothy, Boris leapt backward and landed upon the cobblestones on one knee. He snapped his fingers once, and felt as his own animagi form began to take hold, the face of the tiger looking just as unimpressed as the human one had.

"Two can play this game, you know...." Boris the Siberian Tiger growled low in his feline throat. He doubted the others could understand a word he'd said in this form, but it didn't really matter. The slight sway of his animagus form's tail, and the fact that it was held out but low, was indication enough.

Darien fought to control his wolf self.
"To me, this isn't a game."
Darien didn't mention the internal war, no need to make himself sound weak.
A tiger...interesting. His eyes narrowed.
He prowled to one side, claws clicking on the cobblestones.

'It vos a figure of speech... or haven't you heard of such a thing, Vaight?' Boris taunted, assuming that a level of seriousness in their duel had caused Darien to transform.

Boris stalked in the opposite direction. It looked like they were two creatures in a muggle merry-go-round, only they weren't made of plastic and could control their own movements. Small but sharp claws protruded from the pads of his feline feet, retracted as they were until the very split second they were needed. The tiger's steps were entirely silent...

'Vell? Are ve going to dance... or duel?' Boris mocked, clearly sizing up his chances against his opponent's altered form as he did so.

"Well you can dance if you want to." Darien taunted. Here kitty kitty...I might have guessed you and Pony-boy would both be cats. Well the dog is here to play.
He feinted a leap forwards and kept prowling.

'I don't dance vith dogs...' Boris scoffed. He had been about to say that if Darien wanted to play then let's play, but didn't have time...

Assuming the wolf was going to go through with the attempt, Boris had crouched, claws extended to their full, and attempted a swipe that wasn't even close enough. Boris continued the resumed movement, not wanting Darien to be anywhere near easy attacking distance. 'I think your bark is worse than your bite - a puppy that thinks himself a big bad wolf....'

With a roar, Boris feigned a lunge and half-heartedly swiped at the wolf's front legs for to test Darien's reflexes.
