La Familia de Casillas
(The Casillas Family)
The Coat of Arms
HistoryThe OriginsThe Casillas' are an old Wizarding Family that was based in Spain. They can be traced back through several generations – though their actual origins are a lot older. As a family that believes in blood superiority - they take great pride in that fact. It was only in recent generations did they conceive it possible to accept Muggle-Borns in the Wizarding World. It is good to note however, that they were not affiliated with the Dark Lord. They may be flawed in many ways but partaking in genocide is too severe even for them.
The FeudIt would be bizarre to mention the history of the Casillas without mentioning their rivalry with the Vaights. The Casillas family has a long feud between the Vaight Family. No one even knows what caused it or how it started, all anyone knows is that the Vaights are not to be trusted. Any form of negotiation or peace treaty has not gone well. And it seems with each generation the rivalry is renewed.

PersonalityPersonality seems to vary more. Casillas have been known to be proud and often times arrogant. However they are impeccably loyal and frightfully determined. They would fight for what they believe in – to the point that they’ve been labeled stubborn. They aren’t particularly known for their temper. Though there have been situations where that statement can be refuted.
They are known to be generous offering an amountable sum to charity yearly. They are also romantic – nothing is more deadly than a Casillas bachelor.
AbilitiesThe Casillas seem to be proficient in flying. They have produced several Professional Quidditch Players and most of their members have an affiliation to the sport. They are also known for their artistic talents especially because of Fernando Casillas who became a world-famous painter.
ValuesSome of the values that the Casillas hold dear are:
Family - For them blood really is thicker. However, any member who seem to perform uncharacteristic of a Casillas or any who brings shame to the family is eligible for disownment.
Loyalty – The Casillas’ are men and women of their word. Once they give their word on a certain matter, one can be sure that they will be true.
Bravery – From birth they are told that “A Casillas isn’t afraid of anything” and it is with that, that the Casillas find their power. They’ve never been known to back down from a dare and they would defend whatever it was to their dying breath.
Heirlooms and Other Such ThingsLocket –
The Casillas locket is solid gold with intricate details decorating it. The locket is passed on to a female member of their family. The criteria must be that the recipient is Casillas by blood and by name to ensure that the locket stays in the family. What is means is that unfortunately, the locket holder cannot pass the locket to her daughter. They maybe Casillas by blood but not by name (as the locket-holder’s daughter would have taken her father’s name which in most cases is not Casillas). This rule has resulted in a lot of family quarrels in the past. If more than one Casillas girl fits the criteria, it is simply up to the locket-holder to decide who to give it to. This too has resulted in a lot of family quarrels.
This locket is usually given to the girl on her sixteen birthday (as this is known to be the age that the young girl becomes a woman), though there have been exceptions.
Ring –
Each member of the Casillas family is given a family ring with the Casillas Crest on it.
Mansion -
The Casillas have a main mansion that is located in Spain. They have several smaller mansions - most of which are in Spain as well - but none of them are as grand as the main
Casa de Casillas. This mansion is said to be as old as the Casillas Family themselves and has been passed on from generation to generation.
Business -
The Casillas have several businesses under their belt. The prominent of the bunch however, is wine-making. They are the biggest producers of wine in Spain, owning the largest vineyard in all the land. The business has been in the Family for quite some-time and is actually what made their fortune. They are also a major producer of chocolate – though they are most known for their wine.
