Professor Viper's Personal Chambers (Located Nearby Slytherin Common Rooms)

Viper glided across the halls quickly, ignoring the inquisitive looks from the other students who were wondering why in the world the two rival Heads were strolling down the halls together, especially with a toddler.

She finally apporached the majestic portrait of a serpent and breathed out her password. "Ghost Love Score" before entering her chambers towards the corner of the sitting room where a small cauldron stood frothing and bubbling. She smiled, realizing it was ready for the next few ingredients.

Eglantine entered the room after Viper and tightened her grip on Edwin's hand. He already wanted to go and look at the cauldron.

Viper waved her hand, conjuring a small play area for Eglantine to place Edwin while they finished the potion.

"Are you ready, Professor?"

Eglantine set Edwin in the play area and turned back to Viper.

"Yes. I am ready."

Viper nodded and lead Eglantine over to the potion. She tossed a few additional ingredients in there, causing the potion to start bubbling. She gave Eglantine a small reassuring smile before handing her a silver dagger.

She took the dagger and held it over her left palm. "How much blood?" Eglantine asked softly.

The words reverberated through her mind and she remembered another time when she had asked the same question.
Her father had chuckled softly, placing his large hand on her shoulder. "Just a few drops, Sweetbriar."

She blinked as the memory faded.

Viper thought a moment, formulas flashing through her head. "Not much, just a few drops, Professor." she paused to glance at the toddler who sat and played by himself happily.

"Would you like Edwin to be sedated when the potion takes effect?"

"Yes." she cut her hand, deeply enough to have blood drip from the wound but not deep enough for it to bleed badly. "It would be best if he was."

Viper nodded and wordlessly summoned a very mild infant sleeping potion. Picking up the sippy cup from earlier, Viper poured in a few drops. The potion would only take seconds to work so Edwin would only need to be sedated for about 10 or 15 minutes.

Approaching Edwin hesitantly, she awkwardly handed the sippy cup to him. Unfortunetly, Edwin didn't appear to be thirsty so he immediately threw it back to her. Sighing, Viper tried a different method since Eglantine was still working on her part of the potion. Tilting his head gently, Viper attempted to open his mouth and drop a few drops into his mouth. However, the moment Edwin opened his mouth,it immediately sank unto Viper's wrist, nicking her vein with his tooth.

"Edwin!" Eglantine hurried over to Viper and pulled Edwin away from her. Wordlessly taking the cup, she put it up against the child's mouth. He drank immediately and soon fell asleep.
"Are you hurt?" she asked, her hand over her racing heart.

Viper shot her an 'are you serious' look. "Yes," she said dryly. "The pain is excruciating," she said dryly, the corners of her mouth twitching as she healed her bleeding wrist. "Don't worry about it Professor. Are you through with the potion?"

"Yes. I am." Eglantine wiped a bit of Viper's blood from Edwin's mouth with her sleeve. "You may proceed."

"Alright then." Viper said as she approached the cauldron. Throwing in one last ingredient: a heart of an eagle, Viper stirred the potion which was now a pure liquid gold. Slowly, she poured it into a miniature goblet and turned to Eglantine.

"How would you like me to administer it? Via injection or in its liquid format?"

"Injection would be more efficient." Eglantine replied. "But my hands are not stable enough. You will have to do it."

"Very well." Viper nodded, summoning a needle. Kneeling beside Edwin (assuming Eglantine put him on the couch) she drew the golden potion into it and sterilized the injection area on the toddler's arm. Taking a deep breath, she slowly let the needle pierce Edwin's arm, releasing the golden liquid little by little. When she finished she stood and waited for the results.

After about five minutes, Viper noticed that Edwin's face began merging little by little. It started with his nose changing shape and then proceded with his eye shape, hair color, and the rest of his body, leaving him a teeny bit more plump and a fairer skin color. Immediately, Viper could see the slight resemblances between Eglantine and Edwin such as the skin color and eye shape.

However Edwin's nose was a different shape than Eglantine and his hair had turned into a darker color than Eglantine's. Turning to Eglantine, Viper waited the other Professor's reaction with bated breath.

"He looks like Richard's baby pictures." Eglantine exclaimed. "But he definitely has Rosier features and his father's nose." She smiled at Viper. "It is perfect. Thank you so much." Her smile faded suddenly.
"But...they will still take him away." she gasped, covering her mouth.

Viper shook her head. "No, no they won't. They can't. They have absolutely no grounds to do such a thing. Kiara is with them now, stalling, telling them their system malfunctioned. And I," she summoned her portfolio into her hands. "Have our explanation right here in this book."

"Oh? May I see it?" Eglantine asked, seating herself next to Edwin.

Viper nodded as she flipped to the page she was looking for in her portfolio filled with various formulas and ingredients with the word Parvalus Vita. as she sat on the couch arm beside Eglantine, handing her the book.

"It's a potion I created when I was 17. It's designed for people experiencing difficulty conceiving. Both male and female essences are place into the potion, where conception will take place. After that, the potion now containing the conceived zygote is placed into an aritificial womb where it may be monitored and cared for until it is ready to be born, protected by the potion itself and additional charms. Then, nine months later when it's ready to be born, the charms are lifted, the potion drained, and a bouncing baby is all ready." she smiled excitedly for it had been such a long time since she truly discussed potions with an adult. "It's perfect, Professor. We can let them believe that I helped you gain a child with the Parvalus Vita potion and because it wasn't you specificlly that conceived and bore Edwin, the papers and documents may not be traced or used against you!"

She pausd, waiting for Eglantine's reaction, hoping she had understood it all since Viper was aware of how fast she was talking.

Eglantine just stared at the page, her face devoid of emotion. "If it will stop them from taking him." she whispered. "But I don't like it." She lifted her eyes to Viper.

Viper bit her lip nervously. She had expected this. "How come?" she asked gently. "I realize its very unconventional, but...why is it so disagreeable?"

Eglantine closed her eyes. "Do you believe I am mad? So lost in my emotional grief that I would create what was not meant to be? Or do you believe that I actually would be willing to do whatever it took to heal my own broken heart?" she voice held a lethal bitterness.

"I created excessum for no reason other than my father asked her to prefect it. Not to bring my husband back! And not to bring others back! Not to give immortality! Would you believe that I created it for one purpose? To become lost in a project. A tedious, needed project." She took a breath.

"My husband did not die in the accident. He was still alive. They got him to the hospital and he still lived. I visited him when we were both recovering. And then they came... They claimed that there was magical security at risk and that he would have his memory erased to make sure." She looked down at Edwin, stroking his rosy cheek. "Sure that he wouldn't remember me. But they didn't erase his memory. They killed him. After the war all they wanted to do was purge the world of all "evil". My family was apart of that purging. But they couldn't get my brother or my parents, only me."

Kiara bit her lip when she saw Hermione searching closer to Professor Viper's Quarters.

"I have to warn them, just in case"

Pointing her wand out she said "Expecto Patronum"

Her tiger patronus leapt out of her wand and turned to face her.

"Tell them "Whore"mione and her minons are coming their way in a matter of minutes"

She said thinking Viper would enjoy her calling Ms. Granger her new nick name, and give them a clue as how well their meeting went. For usually Kiara never disrespected anyone, as long as they didn't push it. And Hermione Granger pushed beyond her limit.

Viper nodded her acknowledgemnt of Kiara's patronus but kept her eyes on Eglantine.

She hesitated a moment before replying. "I am aware of that. The dark lord spoke to me of the circumstances regarding your potion making and your husbands death. And I can understand your anger, for you were not the only one affected by the purging. My own brother Dracovan sits in Azkaban where he shall stay for at least another ten years. Assuming he survives that long..." she paused for a lump of emotion cut into her throat. "And on what grounds? Defending himself from a wizard wanting to avenge their relative. A relative our father murdered. Dracovan never touched a soul. You weren't the only one destroyed by the purging..."

Viper sighed. "Do you want the child, Professor? Just answer that question, honestly and brutally. Parvalus Vita is nothing more than a cover story to keep the Ministry away and you two at peace. But if you honestly, truly, have no affection for it and want nothing more to do with him, then speak now for all three of us will go down. You, me, and Kiara."
