Laughing, Tav pictured the scene, wishing he'd been there to witness it.
"Sounds wicked." he chuckled, "You know he's terrified of Professor DeLanquar. No idea why. I mean I think she's nice." Tav shrugged. He liked playing with little Edwin too and Horatio seemed even more cheerful with the woman around.

"What?" Tav grinned cheekily. "Not your fault you've reached the falling hill."

Kiara blinked, oh the things she learned from Tav, "Really.. hmm I wonder why.. well aside from her being his mother in law I mean.. Afraid off her... Interesting.." she said tilting her head to the side.

Then at Tav comment about her age her mouth dropped, and she started laughing, with a spark in her eyes. "Oh Tav... you little snipe" she said in between her laughs. Then her hand shot out and tickled the 9 year olds ribs...

"I will have you know I am not old, and I happen to be the youngest headmistress in 400 years. Thank you very much" she said trying to make her point.

Not understanding what her being his Da's mother-in-law had to do with not liking her, Tav shrugged. "Well, maybe its because of her animagus form..." he giggled.

The tickling of his ribs produced hearty laughter and he forgot about his da and adopted grandmother. He hadn't known that Kiara was the youngest Headmistress in 400 years and his mouth twitched as he thought of a come-back. "Wow! That's a long time to be headmistress." he teased, twisting her words.

Kiara blinked not used to her age being made fun of... she was not old.. yet she was having fun having this playful bagder with Tav, and his laughter was music to her ears..

"Oooo you have guts my little man, making fun of a ladies age can be dangerous" she said smirking, tickling him again.

" I am not old " she said folding her arms infront of her.

"You are to young to know what "old" really is... I am not it." She insisted..

Tav laughed even harder as Kiara folded her arms and despite her smirk, indignantly refuted that she was 'not old'.
"Guts and decorum..." he murmured, beaming. "Tis easy to stir strife and a honeyed word to bring a smile to sweet lady's lips." he quoted his father with ease of thought, as he bowed gallantly.

"No, you're not old, Mum." he assured her. "But I'm old enough to know that so I guess I'm not too young to know what old is... Uncle Horatio... he's not old, cause you're as young as you feel. Now, my muggle teacher, Miss Teno... she's only like 30 and she's old, cause she's as strict and no fun as a dry apple."

Kiara still giggled actually feeling quite young at that moment having such a playful argument with her adorable step son.

"Thank you Tav" she said still enjoying her trailing giggles in her throught.

She chuckled at his comment about Horatio and his muggle teacher, he was right Horatio was a over grown kid at times.

Still very amused she petted a kitten starting to climb on Tav's knee.

"Well want to have one last look around before I buy the toys for Lav and we head home?" she asked.

Tav patted the kitten's head and set it down within the pen.
"Nope, think I've had my fill." he smiled, fruitlessly brushing the hair from his jumper. "Sheesh, I have enough hair on me for a new cat." he chuckled.

"What kind of toys are you going to get for her?" he asked, curious.

Kiara chuckled "Nothing to fancey..." she said biting her lip slightly..

"Anything to keep her from chewing on your Da's shoes" She muttered sheepishly as she walked over to a display, looking at all the toys young cats were appearently supposed to like.

She tried her best to keep her little cat out from under her husbands feet.

"What do you think she would like?" She asked wondering his opinion.

Tav laughed, imagining what his Da's face would look like if Lav did in fact chew up his shoes... especially if he was wearing them...

"A cat-nip mouse?" he suggested, pulling the life-like mouse from the shelf. It was magical and thus behaved just like a living mouse... only minus the squeals of terror.

Kiara smiled and looked at the toy mouse, "Cute, hmmm yes I think that will work.. much more interesting then old shoes" she said with a chuckle.

She then went over to the paying counter to pay for it, once that was done she smiled at Tav, placed her hand on his shoulder " Come, lets stop by home and then we can get on with your birthday okay?" she said with a smile.

"We shale apperate"

Tav smiled, glad his choice had been a good one.

"Okay sounds fine." he nodded, more than willing to side apparate along with her. He reached out and put his hand on her arm.

Kiara couldn't help but smile... They were almost there...

With a pop they appeared a distance away form the house.. to give the party goers afew extra moments to ready them selves.

" Come lets go" she said holding Tavs hand as they walked toward the house.

She opened the door with her key, it was abnormally dark inside the house and silent.
